Okay, lay it on me. I've been WAITING for this to come out, but since we were away this wknd, didn't get to see it first thing. :confused3

What do you all think? Good? Bad? Horrible??

Appropriate for DS7 and DD9? We've seen both Transfromers movies and the kids were fine with them, not scared at all.

Any and all feedback would be appreciated! :dance3::dance3:

Hi I am a 28 yo female with my husband. I saw GI Joe this weekend. I thought it was good, for what type of movie it is. However, as far as taking young kids a few parts are "scary" like this nanomite things killing people from within, and 2 guys have their faces burned/scarred that is sorta disturbing. The language isn't horrible, but not always appropriate, and some sexual inuendos. I am pregnant but do not have kids yet, I think a PG13 rating was appropriate. Compared to Transformers, I thing Joe was overall more "clean" though.

DH and I saw it this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!! I think GI Joe is more appropriate for kids than Tranformers 2.

Saw GI Joe yesterday and we also loved it!!! We liked GI Joe waaay better than the new Terminator movie. Like everyone else mentioned, if your kids saw Transformers, then GI Joe will be fine. Have fun!!!

DH and I just saw it today.

I'm going to be in the minority here. First, the acting was TERRIBLE. And, for both DH and I, there were waaaaay too many technical-type issues with the plot/storyline to overlook.

Also, based on some comments I read here, DH and I opted to NOT take DS8 and are glad we made that decision. DS8 watched Transformers at home on DVD and opted to leave the room during some of the more violent scenes. However, the violence in GI Joe was more graphic and hands-on; there was a lot of hand-to-hand combat between people, lots of swordfights and kniveplay (including one death that was pretty sudden and in-your-face); oh, and a few nasty scenes with really long needles that squicked me out. Also, much of the plot would be difficult for kids to follow... a lot of flashbacks to set the background and some concepts (nanotechnology, for one) that would be hard for kids to follow.

Hey, if you want to see it, go for it. But my advice would be to leave the kids at home.

Thanks all!

One of the drive-in's near here is playing Transformers 2/GI Joe, but the show starts at 9pm, and wouldn't end until 2am, and it's a 45 min drive to get home! Not exactly the kind of thing I want to be doing when I have to go to work the next morning!:laughing:

NOT kid friendly, but definitely fan-boy/girl friendly! If you played with GI Joe as a kid, you will probably love the movie. Snake Eyes is my new boyfriend.
