I found this website in researching our upcoming trip but it doesnt seem to be very big here in the States. Could anyone please let me know if you have used them or heard of them? I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you!

Hi

Yes I have heard of them and used them before, no problems.

I have used them a few times, no problems at all.
They are now part of the Tui group which is one of the biggest travel companies in Europe.
Do you have a discount code for them? if not heres a late Christmas present 56040 it will give you 8% off (don't think there are any blackout dates but it will tell you)
If you use a cashback site also check they if they are a partner, rpoints.com give 6% cashback for hotelopia.
If I saw a price on their site for $100/night I would expect to pay around $86 after discounts and cashback.
Usually they offer 10% codes but cant see one just now.

Info here http://www.hotelopia.com/home/info/about_us.jsp

i have used them for a hotel in orlando and they have been fine :)

Thank you all so much for your quick replies!! Do you know if I need to be able to tell them where the discount code came from or need a coupon? I am trying to hold out for free dining this year but have serious doubts as to whether that is going to happen. I may book a place now through Hotelopia but need to check out the cancellation policies first.

Once again - thank you for your fast replies and Everyone Have A Happy New Year!!

I think you actually have to go well into the booking process before you find out the cancellation figures see below.
If you know exactly which hotel you want and the dates tell the best price you can find and I will do a quick search here. We get some great rates in UK compared to US, I once stayed in Homewood suites for $44/night incl, American family in room next to me had paid almost $200/night.
No problems with Hotelopia discount code they send them out freely to anyone on their email database.

19. How much will I be charged if I cancel a booking?

Before you confirm your acceptance of your booking, you will be advised of the exact cancellation fee that will be applied for the particular hotel you have chosen. Reducing the number of nights booked within a certain time limit may also result in similar charges

Thats right, i found a discount code online and when i checked in they didn't mention anything about it!

Thanks for the offer!! I will attempt to figure it out (the specific days) and know the hotel......but must go now - company is coming.

Happy New Year!!

I used them last year for Spain and have booked for 2008 for Florida as they have excellent prices.

If you join Quidco. £5 membership you can get 10% cashback for booking with them. Quidco is well worth joining as many other discounts available.

I have used both Quidco and rpoints.
I found Quidco very poor for paying out, for no reason they don't award full amounts for eg I was entitled to £2.69 cashback from harrods, they only paid £1.13 :confused3
I have now been using rpoints for 3 years so far paid me £766.00 cashback and paid every penny or % they say they will. They don't charge £5 to join and they have a highest cashback system and will match any other site. I just uped my claim for Virgin holidays for £41 to price match Quidco at £82(paid no problem).
A great feature with rpoints is you can post offers in the forums and get a % of any sales created from that post. eg I posted offer for a mobile phone, I got 3 x £1.60 in commission.
Use whichever cashback you like but I was not happy with Quidco.

I just ran my dates through Hotelopia with that discount code and and saved myself €350.00 for our first week in Orlando! (We're doing week 1 OP).

I just had one question about room type which I've emailed them before I commit. Then I'm booking.

Thanks again!

I flippin' love this board :goodvibes

Hello again. I have just discovered Alpharooms.com. I am looking at Cypress Pointe Resort and here is the price breakdown.

Hotelopia with discount code above = $630 with $31 cancellation fee. = Hotelopia seems to want full payment now

Alpharooms = $670 cant find cancellation fee yet = they want $134 deposit today and full payment 5 weeks before

Alpharooms seems to be more well know but IS more expensive. Anyone know of both and have a recommendation? The $40 difference is not that much. I would prefer to go with the more "known" agency.

Thanks again...hope I am not a pain.

Good morning.
Does the prices quoted take into account the discount code? would have thought a little bit better saving.
Anyways difference in companies.
Alpharooms is a very small company(actually based 20 miles from me in Sheffield) employing about 70 staff and only selling hotel rooms.
Hotelopia are part of TUI employing 1000's in many countries, they sell packages, rooms, flights, tours, even boat tours around the canals of Amsterdam. Here is their group page http://www.tui-group.com/en/
I have used both companies numerous times, never a problem. Personally I would go for the best price and pay by credit card for peace of mind but both are good companies.

Hi guys,

I managed to find an online 10% discount last night for Hotelopia, posted about it, but my post got eaten, and now I can't find the flippin' code!

I will hunt it down again and post it. I will have saved tonnes using this website. I was going to call the hotel and tell them that I got this fabulous price to see if they'd match it. But I think I'm just gonna go with Hotelopia instead :goodvibes

Hi guys,

I managed to find an online 10% discount last night for Hotelopia, posted about it, but my post got eaten, and now I can't find the flippin' code!

Did you actually try the code?
I have 4 or 5 10% codes here but none are working, I could only get the 8% to work. Hope you find it again:)

Okay you guys are great. I have been able to find a %10 code and the cost for 9 days is $654 which is fantastic. Cancellation fee of $31 which I have no problem paying IF Disney comes out with free dining again. (which I doubt for my week) I just wish I could get a 3 bedroom in Phase 2 - all that I am able to get is the 3 bedroom in Phase 1. I have four teenagers and am nervous they wont fit on a trundle.

Thanks all - off I go to click "submit"!!

Okay - I am editing this because I just figured out that the discount code is more like 14%.......are these codes for real? I dont want to end up in Orlando with no place to sleep LOL. I found the code on another site the dibb. It is 31245630 but I dont know where it is issued from. Do you think this is okay to use?

Was just going to post then I saw edit :rotfl2:

Thats is a great code, just had a look at a hotel and it gave me 15%.
You will have no problems if the booking goes thru to payment and you get confirmation then don't lose any sleep over it.
I once booked thru a company called Venere.com. I knew it was mis-priced but all went thru ok, got to checkin and the lady said wow you got a great deal.
These codes work at source of booking they will not give you a hotel voucher if there is any problem.
I am going to look now for our August trip, 15% off is worth a very close look.

By the way what dates you going?

OH NO!!! I clicked - it said to wait - and then it brought me back to the reservation page and everything is blank again!! I suppose that means it did not go through. ARG...maybe it is the discount code? Have you tried it yet?
