Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Love all these MB deco. I have a question or 2 for those of you using the temporary tattoos, are you just cutting them out from the sheets they are on or peeling them off? Are you applying them on the band with just clear polish or something with more adhesive?
Those of you that are using the rub-ons, where are you getting them and how are you removing them from the sheet, peeling them off? Are they easy to peel off?

TIA

One down... 4 to go! Waiting for the Frozen tattoos (eBay), still not sure what to do with the baby's (thinking Minnie/Daisy) or mine (was going to do Maleficent... but got a pink band).

I did not use a base coat before I put the temp tattoos on. I measured them with the clear plastic sheet still on and marked with a marker on the clear plastic- then cut to the width of the band. I made sure to rub it firmly onto the band before adding water. I covered it with one coat of clear polish on the top and sides.

I put all of the tattoos on with the band open, the skull cracked when I closed it. I will make sure the side tattoos I do for the other bands will be closed when I do the side tattoos.

The photos were taken with the polish still wet.

I just created a pink Minnie Cover Band for the http://dvccentral.com site. Like the Cover Band page on Face Book for realese news. Avengers themed ones have been released and more are coming in June.

Just got my order from you guys!!! Just love them. And I can use them over the ones I've already decorated....so many options!!!

I found frozen tattoos at party city yesterday!!
:)

Anyone who is using the rub-ones can you guys tell me how they hold up if the bands are wet (pool, etc.)?

I'm already planning my band. I really want to do something that's themed for IASW. Unfortunately, even with the 50th anniversary of the ride, it's been impossible to find stickers, tattoos, etc on the subject. Since I'm not a very good artist, I've thought about trying to find some clipart or some pics online and trying to make my own temp tattoos.
I've found easy instructions on how to make my own temp tattoos and rub-ons. I'm thinking that the rub-ons would be better as they seem to be more opaque instead of see thru.

But I think that no matter what I do, I'm going to use a clear polish over the top to protect what I've done.

Where is everyone finding their rub ons? Would love to do my daughters in frozen but can't find any! (Don't have a party city by me).

No nail polished used at all. Just picked the picture and rubbed it right on. They hold up to wear and tear very well. Like the option to change the character in the band next trip.

I like the way the tattoos look like they are part of the band but mine has more viberant colors since they are more sticker like.I will be trying the tattoo method next trip.

So you didn't feel like you needed to seal over them with something after rubbing them on? They didn't wear out? I agree though, yours definitely pop more (which i love!) as opposed to the tattoos that end up more see-thru!

Finished my husband's band. Maybe. I may end up doing the bottom black like the top. We will see how we both feel about it in the next couple of days. This is freehand with a black nail art pen, no top coat at this time. I want it to dry at least overnight before I try that. I still think it looks pretty good. I also will add the photo that I used for reference (Darth Maul is in shadow in the photo, which is why his horns are not visible- trying to make the horns would have been a nightmare, lol).

Looks awesome. Any intention to add his eyes?

You can make your own fairly easily.
Go online and find some artwork that you like. Then you can resize the pics to make them fit the bands.
Then follow these steps:

Supplies you need:
1 Copier Transparency
Fine Mist Hair Gel
Hairspray
Hair Dryer
Ink Jet Printer

Instructions:

Step 1: Spray the fine mist hair gel on the transparency. Holding the film a few inches from a mirror allows you to see if you have a good even coverage over the film. Only spray enough to cover the film completely. You don’t want the gel to “run” down the page, yet you need enough gel to cover all areas of the film

Step 2: Using the hair dryer, dry the gel to the transparency. It should only take between 20-45 seconds if you placed the correct amount of gel on the film.

Step 3: Prepare your artwork using any number of design or word processing programs. You can also stamp the images on the film with dye or pigment based inks. *Important: The design or image will need to be reversed. You can flip the image in your desired program or complete the image mirror in the printing step.

Step 4: Set your printer to the “T-shirt Transfer” mode or select “Mirror Image” in your printer options. (Refer to the manual that came with your printer for assistance.) If you already flipped the image in your design software or word processor, you can skip this step.

Step 5: Print your image on a normal print setting. This should provide enough ink to make a wonderful transfer while making sure the ink does not run. You may need to experiment a few times to get the right setting. *NOTE: Only print exactly what you desire to rub-on and not excess images. You will be able to use the transparency many times.

Step 6: Allow the ink to dry in place. You can speed the drying process with a hair dryer, but be careful not to blow the ink out of place. Place your image flat on a surface and spray with a light coat of hairspray. Using the hair dryer, dry the hairspray in place.

Step 7: Gently lay the rub-on onto the artwork. (Practice first!) Using a spoon, rub the image in place. Make sure to rub the entire area thoroughly to release the image. Gently peel away.

Here's a picture of the bands we used for the SWW. (please excuse the black band which is my Vivofit) We received many comments and compliments from other guests and CM's who were wondering where we got the new bands. And were wondering why Disney doesn't sell these. ;)

These were temp tatoos put on over white nail polish. I covered my entire band with the polish and just the inner section of DH's.

We deco'd several bands. Duck tape, nail polish, tatoos... but this one my oldest DS made takes the cake.

Paracord Cobra stitch. He removed the black adult extension in order to fit the clip.

i dont know what im doing wrong.
Any suggestions?

Are you clicking on the image box (the little yellow box with a mountain) and putting the URL in that? When you copy the image file from Photobucket you don't have to use that, you can just paste it directly into the post. Does that help?
