Has anybody NOT had a disappointing trip lately?

Went in February. Trip was already a win when we got there and were upgraded from POP to Grand Floridian lol. Ate at three places I never had before, all were fine, BoG lunch was just a tasty the second time, and couldn't tell you a thing about bathrooms. Could ask BF. He goes all the time. :P
Upgraded from POP to GF?!?!
Seems like you won the Disney lottery lol!

I have traveled to WDW thirty-six times since 1973-from the West coast. I have never been disappointed. There have been some "is this really happening" moments like the ankle bone deep rain this last Thanksgiving. But that is not Disney's fault. CMs have been awsome. One was so nice at the Wilderness Trading Post I felt we had been friends always. I have never had a bad room or a bad meal. Thinking about WDW brings happiness when sometimes things are not so wonderful in the real world. I am seventy years old and hope to visit as long as I am able. Countdown currently to October 2015!

I just got back less than a week ago and had a great time. That's not to say my entire vacation was a flawless parade of bliss, but the pros very much outweighed the cons. So much so that we'll be returning in June and October and January. There was the occasional dirty bathroom (in Adventureland) and one less than great CM (sold us annual passes but didn't give us the cards) and I learned that the All Star Resorts are just not for us.

To expand on what I said upthread....

I have two friends who have taken their families to WDW three times a year for the last 7 years. In the last year I was starting to hear the same complaints from them: hate FP+, no one is as friendly, it's dirty, it's so overpriced, lines are long, etc. Both are planning trips exclusively to Universal next year. I stand by my theory that too much Disney is too much for some people, and the shine and magic wears off.

I had 2 great trips last year. May at VGF and WL, October at BWV. No complaints! Love the magic bands and FP+.:flower:

Trip in Jan. 7 days. All parks at least twice. Several TS and QS. FP+ used.
No complaints.

We went last October and had an amazing trip! Everything was as magical as we'd expected and more :) It was our first trip, so I guess we don't have any past experiences to compare it to... But we all had so much fun that we are planning to go back next November/December!

Our feb 2014 trip wasn't very good, but our two trips since had been great! People complain more than post about positive experiences.

I had a wonderful time during our trip in October! Getting married at Disney definitely helped set the mood! I'm sure there were a few hiccups during our trip, but obviously they were so petty because I can't remember what they were. We had no issues with FP+, the crowds weren't bad, the food was fine, MNSSHP and F&W were awesome and overall we had a wonderful trip and can't wait to go back in September!

All of our hiccups this past June were due to user error on our end; that is, we learned the hard way about some of our kids' limits. (Apparently our kindergartener is not one for shows!)

Getting around the construction at DTD was kind of a pain, but that was our first time there so honestly it wasn't a big deal.

QS meals were a mixed bag, but that'll happen anywhere.

I love salty food!

And I have slightly sub-normal blood pressure, so I can eat as much of it as I like! :thumbsup2

One person's complaint is another person's sweet bonus.

We've been going to Disney regularly for the last several years. First trip was in 2005. Still loving it, as much as ever! Heck, I even think FP+ is cool, and works well for our touring style. I love the fact that Disney is constantly changing and reinventing itself and giving me new experiences. I think if it wasn't, we'd probably have stopped going long ago.

Same here! Bring on the salt! My low blood pressure will actually thank you. :p

We went in September 2014 and had a GREAT time.

We were apprehensive about FP+ but ended up really enjoying it and were able to ride as much as we did pre-FP+ but with much less running around.

Food was wonderful, we certainly didn't notice a decline from previous trips. We had great meals at Art of Animation, Be Our Guest, Sanaa, Cape May Cafe, Hoop de Doo, Columbia Harbour House and more.

Got to POP check in around 8 PM or so. Swarming with cheerleaders. I was amused and commenting on how cheerleading competitions happen at WDW etc. CM at counter says there is a note on our reservation, goes to check... "We are really overbooked tonight so I'm prepared to make you a magical offer..." ME IN HEAD "Wow wouldn't it be cool if we got bumped to a Moderate..." CM "So we would like to upgrade you to the Grand Florid-" ME OUT LOUD "YES!"

CM "Thank you! I've been hoping for a response like that all night! Last family the dad was like 'Lemme think' the kids said 'but we wanna stay Heeeeeere.' The mom said 'WE ARE TAKING IT!' though."

Only downside is I keep trying to explain to BF that he can't just expect to "win the Disney Lottery" so in May we are booked for All-Star Sports and I expect we will stay there lol.

We went last September and are going again in August. Nothing in life is ever perfect, but only at DisneyWorld will a custodial CM appear out of nowhere with a big roll of Mickey stickers to help your crying toddler snap out of her funk.

Yes, all those things now exist to some extent. Hence my signature.
