Is Cuaron doing the next movie too?
No, thank goodness. The new director is the guy that did "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Mona Lisa Smile", both of which were at least tolerable (I didn't care much for the former, really liked the latter). Goblet of Fire is my favorite of the books, so if it gets hacked up as badly as Prisoner of Azkhaban did, I'm gonna really be upset.
Originally posted by Maleficent13I'm glad someone else wasn't exactly pleased with the movie. I didn't like it nearly as well as the first two. Although my biggest complaint is that they left so much out of it, which as we go along here will have to become the norm, as her books get longer.
Yeah, I was
really disappointed in PoA. There were just
SO many important points that didn't get covered. They barely even touched on the friendship between Harry's dad, Sirius, and Moony...didn't explain at ALL abouth "Padfoot, Wormtail, Moony, and Prongs"...which was fine because they barely even showed Harry's patronus as being a stag, anyway....They hardly touched on the fight between Ron and Hermione, so when she "demanded" an apology when they found Scabbers it was like, "Um...what is he supposed to be apologizing for ?"...
I KNOW that it's hard to turn a long book into a 3-hour-or-less movie, and some things have to be cut. But Chris Columbus managed to make the first two movies
without making cuts that resulted in major changes to the storyline, so I don't know why it was so difficult for Cuaron to do the same. If they do that to Goblet of Fire, I doubt very seriously I'll give it another chance...
