Anyone else see the First Look that HBO has been running lately? About 15 minutes with quite a bit of stuff in it - they give away more than I thought they would.

oh - i also wanted to say that i didn't like they way the movie portrayed Duddly. they really made him come across as being ...... well..... like he's been riding the short bus all his life and that's not how he was in the book.

i know, i thought i might have to wait until Sunday but i might have to ask my parents to watch dd and go see it Wednesday if not Thursday.

Kreacher plays a role in book 7 with the necklace so I am sure that is why he is in book 7.

wow - i just came to post about the movie next week and found this thread.

i've been listening to the audio book (twice now) getting ready for the movie next out.

i hope HOPE they don't cut out as much as they did with Order.

i was so disappointed with how much they cut out - the longest book to date became the shortest movie - shocking.

i'm not even sure why they put creacher in at all. the amount he was in felt forced

That's because he was a last-minute addition (they HAD to add him in the movie).

I'm obviously in the minority, but I loved OOTP (the movie)!! I know they cut a TON of stuff and changed a bunch, too, but I guess I just love seeing the characters come to life. I'm excited to watch the Harry Potter weekend on ABC Family this weekend, too! Especially since they show extended versions of the first 2 that you can't see or buy anywhere else. I don't know what it is, but these are some of the only books that I can read (and movies that I can watch) over and over.

Ooo, I will have to tune in. This sounds good!

Personally, I think they'll cut it after the escape from Malfoy Manor. They'll leave you hanging with what harry is planning.

Hmm, that's a good spot. As long as they do DH right, that's all I care about.

Me and my older sister have gone to the Harry Potter book and movie midnight premieres since they had them and it is a tradition of ours.
We are sad that the book releases are no longer but we still have 3 more movies!

We already went to Hot Topic and bought our movie t-shirts for the premiere!

Me too! I even skipped my senior prom to go see HP 4 in theaters (although, I wasn't planning on going anyway).

I just saw a commercial for the HP series. ABC/Disney Family is going to show the first four movies this weekend. And twice or so for each movie. But I guess ABC doesn't have the privledge to show the fifth. Cause earlier in the summer ABC (regular network station) showed the first four every saturday night.
I've read book 1-4 and half way through 5 now. I read book 6 and 7 like a month or so ago when I bought my tickets for the movie. I'll be there for the midnight showing. (It was my only choice since Kari usually works wensdays and I didn't want to see it a week later).

I was at the premiere today in new york! Obviously not to see the movie, but to watch the red carpet arrivals. I got there too late to get a front spot, so I wound up standing on a barricade with a tree in my face for the entire time, haha. But I met some awesome fans and we had a blast.

I saw Dan, Rupert, Emma, and Tom pretty close-up when they walked to the fans to give autographs (I was on the sidewalk, there were in the middle of the street, but a mob of fans shoving books/cameras in there faces were seperating us), and then Bonnie, Michael, and Alan (as well as the 4 of them) on the red carpet across the street.

Fans were on the south sidewalk into the street, the red carpet was on the street on the north end, and then the press was behind them, so I saw mostly everyone's backs, but they turned around a few times to wave to us! I got a decent one of Dan, one of the only ones that I managed to snap the picture before they turned around again.

Anywho, it was a crazy madhouse of fans, and my feet and back hurt from standing on the barricade for 5 hours, but it was all worth it!

Unfortunately I can't go to the midnight showing or any on the 15th (working alll day, ew), but I have tix for 6pm on the 16th in IMAX in Lincoln Square! woot woot.

could have been worse - it could have been a complete down pour like in London .

they're all so grown up LOL - hard to believe it's been 8 years since we first saw Dan.

i just put OOP on my ipod and i'm listening to it (again) then i'll listen to HBP just before we go to the movie (i've listened to it 3 or 4 times in the last month or so)
