Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince....NO SPOILERS THREAD!!!

My oldest daughter and I are eagerly waiting for the 15th to come! We can't wait to see it. I did hear though that they're releasing Half Blood Prince in 2 parts...part 1 in July and part 2 in November. I'm remembering this correctly? I hope it's true since this book is waaaaaay to big with so much information to cram into a 2 hour movie. We're actually going to try making some Butterbeer...rootbeer with a pat of butter in it! :thumbsup2

My Christmas present last year was an iPod with all 7 HP audiobooks on it!

You have got to tell me how to get an iPod with all 7 books! This is what I want when I go on the EBTA cruise next year. Please please with chocolate frogs on top.

I believe HBP is just one movie. DH will be split into two movies - one in the spring and the other in the fall. Don't know the time period though.

Oh really? That is disappointing. How on earth are they going to put Half Blood Prince into 1 movie? I guess we'll see. :goodvibes

I have been waiting for this movie and can't wait to finally see it!!:thumbsup2

I have seen a couple of previews and it looks excellent. As long as there is lots of Harry and Ginny I will be fine.

I must not be much of a critic....I loved Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix! Of course, the book is better, but then almost every time they make a movie out of a book, the book is better...that was true in 1939 with Gone With the Wind, it's true today. But I totally enjoyed the movie.

I'm looking forward to this one too! I'm making plans to take 1 nephew & 3 nieces to see it soon after it comes out. We can't wait.

And I've always felt that books 4-7 would have made great miniseries. That way, almost nothing important would be left out. But they didn't ask me first. ;)

I'm so curious about where they are going to cut Deathly Hallows to make two movies.

I'm guessing the last scene of the first movie will have to be everyone at Hogwarts when they decide to fight Voldemort. It's almost the end of the book, but the end is SO dense...

Thoughts?

Maybe one day! They still make Pride & Prejudice over and over. :)

Or they shoulda done like Lord of the Rings and done extended, longer versions to fit more stuff in.

I think this is gonna be one of the few movies I will see in the theater this summer!

I am really looking forward to this movie! We are going to be at the beach when it comes out and they have an Imax theater, has anyone seen any of these movies or similar on an imax? I would like to try it but don't want to ruin the movie either. I've never seen a theatrical movie on imax, just the educational ones you see at museums and such as we don't have one where we live.

I also have a question about the end of Deathly Hallows, I am typing it in white in case anyone here has not yet read the book. I can't remember which one of the twins died, was it Fred or George?

I went to see Star Trek on the imax and found out that other than a big honkin' screen, it was just like seeing it at the regular theater. A waste of $15 IMO. I was also used to the ones like at Discovery Place in Charlotte. So this ruined it for me as far as "imax" goes, which, IMO, a big, honkin' screen with lots of speakers just ain't.

I saw a commercial for it last night--while I was watching ESPN. Very cool.

I'M SO EXCITED!

Me and my older sister have gone to the Harry Potter book and movie midnight premieres since they had them and it is a tradition of ours.
We are sad that the book releases are no longer but we still have 3 more movies!
[this one, and the 2 parts of deathly hallows]

We already went to Hot Topic and bought our movie t-shirts for the premiere!
