My family and I had the hardest time leaving MK last night. We went to MK to see the castle before the crowds get silly huge. We arrived around 4:30 and took the monorail over. The first thing we did was go over to the Columbia and grab some dinner. While I was waiting for our food this CM came up to me and told me that she will be escorting me upstairs where my family is (We always eat upstairs). However we weren’t supposed to be up there but somebody had dropped the rope. Oops. She was nice and said that we can eat up there anyways. After that we rode the Haunted Mansion and BTM and hung out in front of the castle for the view and some photos. The park was closing aat 7 so we decided to leave just before 7. We get out to the front of the park and found this giant line to the monorail station! I mean big line. The girl told me that the fairy boats were down! :sad2: I’m thinking all of them? So we were cleaver and went and got on the resort monorail which was a fraction of the line. So we finaly get to the ticket center to get in line to get on the tram to take us all the way to Happy. A few trams later we boarded one of the new trams and were on our way. Well, we get over to the west side of the parking lot, Pluto etc. and the tram broke down! :rotfl: I’ve never had a tram brake down. We started laughing. The other people on board didn’t see the humor though. Any ways they sent another tram and we were finally able to get to our vehicle to go home. It took us an hour to get to our car. Nonetheless we had a great time as usual. Those of you coming to the Kingdom this Holiday make sure the boats are running. I would think it would priority to get them up and running due to the massive Christmas crowds.

What an adventure! I love that you dealt with that situation with humor and style! :thumbsup2

We always seem to have a hard time getting out of the parks due to strange transportation issues. Glad to read we aren't the only ones. ;). Staying positive is key!!

Times like that, don't you wish you were staying at the Bay lake....:)

In June we were staying at BLT...were at the Poly 4 lunch.....monorail went down so everyone at the resorts and many from MK walked over to Poly to use the boats....ended up taking a $$$ cab. This trip we have had a broken parking lot tram, a couple of tow trucks for buses.

I got caught in the ferry boat breakdown too. We had a 7:40 reservation at Ohana. I left early to purchase a TiW card at Guest Relations in MK. That all went smoothly, and then I saw the endless lines to both monorails. The launches to the GF and Poly also had a huge line. I ended up walking to the Contemporary and taking a cab to the Polynesian. I don't know that I made the best choices, but just tried my best to get there. Got seated around 8 pm. Cab fare was $6.40 (gave driver $9) if anyone wants to know.
