Jen, I read your PM, I'll have Rob read it tonight when he gets home. I'm sure he'll have some book recommendations for you. But don't get me started on The Da Vinci Code! Rob read it, and he thinks I'm a nut (LOL)! I've already warned him he's NOT going to see the movie. He's like "settle down, I already know what happens". But seriously, here's my problem with it......Not everyone is going to do the research that you have done. And unfortunately, I've begun to see the effects of the untruths seeping into society as truths. A boy in my PSR (Parish School of Religion) class announced one week that he heard "somewhere" that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. That makes me sad. Okay, I won't say anymore......I'm sure Rob will be rolling his eyes when he reads this!

On the subject of a family pix......we haven't had a pix taken together in a long time. I'm usually the one BEHIND the camera, so we end up with lots of photos with Rob and the kids, not many with me in them. I'll try to make a special effort to have someone take a pix of us soon. If everyone else gets them up there, it'll help remind me!

Deanna, I understand your apprehension when discussing the Da Vinci Code. I am aware of the controversy the book has caused among christians. It's unfortunate that not more people do the research. I personally think Dan Brown is a great writer. The book is fiction. It has never claimed otherwise. I'd like to start what I'm about to say with; I am a Catholic. I went to church every Sunday. I am well versed on the Catholic Doctrine. I, in the last five years (sparked by bitter feelings I had for the church) have done a lot of research on the bible and I have read it not only as a holy book but as a historical read as well. It is a sensitive subject for so many. I am in no way condemning believing in Jesus or what the bible preaches. Much good comes from religion and on the flip side almost every war ever fought was also over religion. I think the balance for humans is to not become self rightous in our beliefs as to ostracize others for their beliefs. We are living in difficult times and the fundamentals are basic. Be kind to one another. We all know where our hearts are and at the end of our lives we'll have the answers to all our thoughts. I commend you Deanna and everyone else that has such amazing faith. My jouney for knowledege in this subject will continue and in the meantime I know my heart is in good hands.

Wow we are now into some heavy topics for a friday night Jen..But well said can not say that I have read the divinci code.....I have known many people that have though...

Hope everyone is having a great friday night..Fran how was the drinks????

Jen,
I totally get what you are saying, it is very hard to live according to Catholic teachings. I struggle, just like everyone else. And in no way do I believe only Catholics are open to salvation. The Catholic Church does NOT teach that (contrary to what many think The Church teaches). I try to live by Jesus' commandment, to "love one another as I love you".

On another note, I noticed that Eight Below came out this weekend. I think that looks really cute. Anyone else planning on seeing it? Maybe that's a plan for this afternoon. It's cold here today too, so why not go see a movie with all of that snow?!

Deeana,
I so agree with you what you said...

:thumbsup2

Mexican was great, as ususal! Frozen strawberry marg. with tacos de carne asada.....what a better way to end a work week!

Wonderful weekend in FL ! Sunny with a high of 78 today. Same thing tomorrow. Looks like we'll be going to AK tomorrow and let "the girls" try out the new coaster. (The boys did it while we were in CO)

Since we're going to "Disney it" tomorrow.....guess I should run a vacuum and clean a few bathrooms today......... :scratchin
Fran
(again, the teacher icon has vanished from my screen and I can't open the "MORE")

OH MY GOSH...............Just noticed we're in the double digits for our May cruise!!!!!

Fran if you are ever unable to find your teacher icon :teacher: just type ":" followed by "teacher" and then another ":". See what I mean? That is the actual script for the icon, so if you type it in, the icon will still show up.

List Mistress could you please add us your list of Magical Halloween Cruiser.

Hi All! we are my (DH) Bill my 9 year (DD) Ashley and myself Ginger.

We've got a few Disney cruises under our belts but Halloween on the Magic is our favorite. pirate:

Fran, Could you eat two ice creams for me????

Welcome Ginger! I too have a DD 9. Have you done the Halloween cruise before? How was it?

Deanna, It is a beautiful commandment and if more people lived that way the world would be a better place. The Catholic church does not teach us that we alone shall be saved. However many "christians" do beleive that to be so. Churches that are bible lead do teach that through Jesus is our only hope of salvation. Certainly we could have lengthy discussions that I'm sure would be very interesting and educational, however we are on the Dis board so I promise from now on I will try to keep things light. I did see Eight Below was opening. It looks really good. My kids love the movie Snow Dogs. When is The Shaggy Dog with Tim Allen Opening? I loved the old version, I can't wait to take the kids to the new one!

Fran, you are so lucky to be in the warm weather. I can't wait to hear how the girls liked the new ride at AK. Have fun. I'll be thinking of you while FREEZING here in MA. Tonight is supposed to be the coldest temps of the season thus far!! Craig is cleaning our bathrooms right now. If you lived closer I'd just send him over!! He does good work ;)

Kristin, I'm heading to Walmart. Call me back later or tomorrow. Have fun tonight. What are you guys having for dinner at your friends?

On a final note, I'm excited for the return of Crash. Can't wait to hear about his trip!

Well.......they're done for now...........maybe next week. Got the whole house done..except the Steven and Kelly's rooms..........THAT is their jobs.

Got the laundry done too! Oh how a trip to see The Mouse can motivate me!!!! :rotfl2:

TWO Mickey ice creams? If I eat them both, Kritter, will you walk TWICE as far for me on the treadmill????????? :rotfl2:

Eight Below was really good. The kids enjoyed it very much as well. Much different than Snow Dogs, as that was a comedy. This was inspired by a true story. Amazing how strong those dogs are.

My brother and his girlfriend just got a new puppy that is half golden retriever and half Siberian husky. Her name is Madison (Madi for short). SOOOO cute! I kept thinking of her during the movie. And while I'm on the subject of dogs.....has any one ever been to a store called Moochie's? It is a store just for cats and dogs. We went there today as well and got Sloopy a new toy. He DESTROYS every toy we get him in no time, and the woman that works there told me they guarantee he would not destoy this ball shaped like the earth. If he does they will refund/replace. So we'll see...... He does LOVE it so far!

Thank You all for the WELCOME!
To answer your question Princess Olivia, yes we have been on the Magic for 4 Halloween. We missed last years Halloween cruise because we sailed the Magic home from Calf. throu the Panama Canal, that was a dream come true cruise. This cruise will be our 9th cruise with Disney, we've had 7 on the Magic and 1 on the Wonder.
Halloween is so much fun aboard the ship. In the past we have had some great Trick-or-Treats for the DIS group children. I hope we'll have one this year. Any plans yet??? If so you can count us in.
Our DD Ashley will be 9 1/2 at the time of sailing. We are also sailing with friends, they have 2 DS's one will be 9 1/2 the other 6.
We are planning on spending a few days at the World before we set sail. Anyone else?
Looking forward to our visit in St. Thomas. We will most likely be going to St. John while there, on our own. We were there 2 years ago and it was beautiful (Trunk Bay).
We want to go to Anguilla while we are in port at St. Maarten, we haven't been there in 4 years. We had plans to go there 2 years ago but our DD got sick the night before and we were afraid to take her.

I would love to read about other Halloween Cruisers cruise plans.

I too miss crash and can not wait to hear of his trip...
Jen,
We had chicken but honestly the margirittas were the best part as you know....

Fran,
Let us know about the new ride...Can not wait to hear...I will walk extra for you...after all of the margirittas I just had I willneed to walk four times as much now.....

Deanna,
Oh you have a puppy the twins loved the new puppy at our friends house tonight...Thought for a brief moment about getting one I mean brief we have a blind cat that would nver tolerate a dog.

Kristin,
The new puppy actually belongs to my brother. We have a 12 year old Sheltie named Beau, and a 2 year old Pomeranian named Sloopy. We just adopted Sloopy in October, and he has turned out to be a great dog. He is high energy, which translates to "spazzy" but he's so much fun to play with, lovable, and absolutely adorable! So really he is very much like having a puppy!

I agree you should wait until your poor little kitty passes away before you introduce a dog to your house, since that would be so traumatic for him/her. And by that time, the girls will be old enough to really help care for the dog. Kylie feeds both of our dogs every afternoon, and earns $1.00 per week allowance for it. She takes her job very seriously! And she is so good about saving her money.

OH I totally agree. We for sure will wait for Spookie to no longer be with us...But I am really not sure about he whole dog thing...I know that I willend up taking care of it...ANd they chew on stuff I am such a neat freak that a dog will or could put me over the edge...

Having to clean up the yard too would be hard....
I do not think we are ready any time soon...

I think the kids need to be older...tooo...Plus we are away a ton and we would have to kennel the dog too....

Kristin

Fran,
Let us know about the new ride

All I can Say is...........WOW! Disney's best ride yet!!!!! :hyper:

We got to AK before the gates opened. Got a fastpass, then got on to ride. We rode it 7 times this morning! Very Cool!!!!!!

We did the safari, and the Lion king show and left by 3:00.

A good Disney Day!!!! (is there such thing as a bad one?) :scratchin
