I'm reading A Father who keeps His promises; God's covenant love in Scripture, by Dr. Scott Hahn. If you are not familiar with him, he is a renowned apologist, and professor of Theology. He will be on EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) tonight at 9pmEST. I don't get the channel on my TV, but I watch a live feed on my computer. Check him out, he's amazing!!

Hey Buck.....funny you should say about the EWTN as I had never heard of it until recently. One of my very best friends from DeSales is an administrative assistant for the station which is in Alabama (I think the only there). She stayed with us for a weekend last summer and said that money at the station was not really great. If you enjoy it you should consider monetary donation? Just a thought.

Hello to everyone else. Remember me the lurker! I love that this thread has a survey, makes it easy to find on the cruise meet page.

Valentines Day here was great. Spent it in class (getting my masters as an Intervention/Specialist).

As another school size note, we probably have 90 kids per grade at my kids elementary school. I thought our school was pretty big.

Oh yea.......I did not travel last year with the Jen from this cruise thread...we had another Jen on our cruise last year and I thought you meant her. Sorry for the confusion.

Buck, wanted to let you know that we heard about the results of my fathers biopsy not good...he is going into the hospital tomorrow morning for some more tests to see if it has spread anywhere else...body scan and a chest x-ray...wanted to let you know...
So needless to say I apologize if I am not my normal happy self...this is a real bummer..My kdis are soooo close to my parents we are not going to tell them that my dad is sick they are too young and do not want to upset them at all...

Kristin, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's results. I will pray that it is contained, and hopefully they can remove it all. Are they still planning on cruising with you? Hopefully he will be recovering by then.

Missy, I'm so sad to hear EWTN is in financial trouble. Who funds them? Do they get any help from the diocese or maybe even the Vatican? That channel reaches so many people, it would be a shame to loose it.

On a happy note - We leave for Disneyland today!!!! We are going with my parents & my brother's family. All 10 of us together for 4 fun-filled days at DL! We'll head home on Tues. We will make sure & give Mickey extra hugs for all of you and I'll ask Tink for extra pixie dust for Kritter's dad.

Since we live in Phoenix, we go fairly regularly and it is just as exciting today as it was the first time

Let us know how AK is. We are considering going there for a bit before we cruise.

Gotta run pick up 1 kid from school, get gas & wait for awol to get home &then pick up the other kid sp that we can get on the road

Deanna and Missy, I'm curious as well to hear about the station and it's funding. Deanna you mentioned the archdiocese . Is this a Catholic program or is it non denomination? Who is profitting (financially) from the broadcast?

Kristin, Diamonds you must have been a very good girl!! Yes the Coach bag is mine. I also got a shopping spree that I did half today and will finish next week. How much do I love that Espradilles are back! I still have a pair from 1997 but the new ones are better.

Yes EWTN is a Catholic station. As far as profits are concerned, I would suspect they are non-profit. And from the sounds of things, they are barely keeping it running. I can e-mail you the link to their web site.

Thanks so much for your prayers...He went today for the body scan and chest x-ray and they will tell us more when he meets with the dr. next week.. THe girl doing the scan freaked my dad out since she asked if he had any dental work recently he said no...She said ummmmm...Are your sinuis bothering you?? he said they were and she said maybe that is what she saw..So who knows maybe she saw something else..Do not know...My parents are away this weekend so that is great for them>>> Visiting my cousin in NC at college with my dad's youngest sister well only sister...Hoping that everything is going to be ok...

My school has 5 first grades, each with @ 23 kids per class. There are 6 second grades.....and I lose track of the 3,4 and 5th grades. I'm lucky to teach at my neighborhood school that is less than a mile from my house.

Tonight was conference night. I'm not use to working from 7:30AM to 8:00PM. (SHut up XLT.....I already can hear you!) I'm tired, and I'm going to bed!

Jen, I read your PM, I'll have Rob read it tonight when he gets home. I'm sure he'll have some book recommendations for you. But don't get me started on The Da Vinci Code! Rob read it, and he thinks I'm a nut (LOL)! I've already warned him he's NOT going to see the movie. He's like "settle down, I already know what happens". But seriously, here's my problem with it......Not everyone is going to do the research that you have done. And unfortunately, I've begun to see the effects of the untruths seeping into society as truths. A boy in my PSR (Parish School of Religion) class announced one week that he heard "somewhere" that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. That makes me sad. Okay, I won't say anymore......I'm sure Rob will be rolling his eyes when he reads this!

On the subject of a family pix......we haven't had a pix taken together in a long time. I'm usually the one BEHIND the camera, so we end up with lots of photos with Rob and the kids, not many with me in them. I'll try to make a special effort to have someone take a pix of us soon. If everyone else gets them up there, it'll help remind me!
