Kristin thank you for the offer of Co-Chair but I'm sorry to say that I will have to decline. If there is an opening on the Board for a T-or-T advisor I would love to apply for the position. I will hand down to you Kristin all of my past plan, I will also send to you a dogearred map used from the GRAND 2004 DIS'ER HALLOWEEN STATEROOM HUNT. We had 58 T-or-T'er and 31 staterooms that year.

Sorry got to go,
I will have to continue my offerings tomorrow.

Dave,
Wow your thread sure is huge for your cruise...I bet you can not wait....

Jen,
Want to hear all about the shopping and yes looks like you will be helping me out trick and treating since Ginger can not ....I can not do it alone....Remeber dr. orders to take it easy....he he......
Where is the capt??? I am going to need to be giving him a full report of what he has missed while he has been gone...

OK off topic anyone see GA last night...wow what did you all think about it....??????

Thanks to everyone for the welcome! I would love to hear about all the plans you guys have so far. We are going down the night before and will stay at the Raddison. We are also thinking about spending a few nights at WDW since Timmy does not have to be back to school until Nov. 8. We are still trying to figure out what excursions we are going to do. Tim (dh) is not a beach person and does not know how to swim. The day in CC is enough for him! I don't care what we do as long as I get to shop a little! If any of you that have been on the eastern before have any suggestions for excursions I would love to hear them!

Ginger, I would love to schedule a time to meet before the cruise. Maybe something in the spring time.

Kristen, I saw GA last night. What a great show! You could really tell that Dereck is in love with Meredith. Mark was quite interesting. I think him and Addison deserve each other! I was really sad about George. I really think he is a sweet guy. I hate to see his heart get broken! This is my new favorite show! Tim (dh) just bought me season one last week on DVD! :cloud9:

It is one of my favorite shows as well....I think it is too bad that this is happening to george she is just using him....I can not stand Addison and hope that she ends up with Mark....They are good for one another...
Do you watch Desperate Houswives...

The only thing we have really talked about doing and the person who volunteered to organize it is Capt. --who is on a cruise now...Is an ice cream mickey bar eating contest..He did this on his last cruise and it was a big hit...He has been taking names of people who want to participate...That is really it...Someone mentioned about t-shirts and the trick or treating obviously...but that is it.....we are all open to suggestions...Oh I almost forgot can not remember her name I will look it up..she is in a cat. 1 and volunteered to host soemthing there as well...so far that is it....

Kristin & Jen,
Thought of both of you today.......I heard that James Denton is going to be at our local Home & Garden show this weekend. They are having a contest thru the radio station, and someone will win a brunch with him. I don't watch DH myself, but I know you are both addicted....LOL...

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, we are unable to go this weekend. Sat Kylie has skating 8:30-10am, then basketball 10-11am......then we are helping my brother's girlfriend move out of her apartment. (BTW, we LOVE this girl!!!! I hope she's "the one". I keep telling my brother, "Kylie would be an adorable flower girl!!!") Then Sat eve., we are going to a movie. Sunday Drew is serving at 8:30am Mass, then we have PSR class, then at 12:30pm Drew wants to go to the youth Mass. He should be pretty holy after two Masses right? So after that we are off to visit with my grandma. Another busy weekend planned, we just can't fit James in there!

YAHOO!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My Dearest List Mistress Kristin would you please add under my user name the names of, Michelle, Dave, Alex 9 and Adam 6 they will be traveling with us. They haven't got a stateroom number yet got a GTY 10. They have requested to be place on the wait list for a SP room. BTW my stateroom number is 2052.

Kristin the reason I have to declined the Co-Chair offer is because I'm going to have go back to work. (Somebody has to pay for these cruises.) That means I'll either be working 6 days a week or on call ready to go as soon as the phone rangs, Postal job :crazy2: I'm the person they call when the regular mail person can't do the job  party: :drinking1 for what ever reason.

If you send me by email your home mailing address I will send you what I have with hopes that my ideas will help make this task easier for you. I will even make you group leader signs for the event. Heck, if I get time before we cruise I'll make paper door signs too.

Teri, still not sure about the Radisson. We are going to do a week at WDW but not sure if it's going to be the week before or after the cruise depends on the kids school schedule.

Desperate Houswives, James Denton...........LOVE him!!!
Kristin, how about Zach finding out he's his father? As for GA, I have to say it..I told you so. He'll end up with Meredith. I do need to add that Mark is incredibly handsome. I think he and Addison are a better couple. Clearly she still has feelings for him and she knows McDreamy doesn't love her...MOVE ON WOMAN!!! As for Meredith, it's not that she's "using" George. Remember she was just almost killed, found out her mother was in love with another man, confronted her father AND went through the whole love quad going on! She just went with instinct with George, not thought. Unfortunately, the repercussions of her actions will be painful because she will inevitably hurt George by not loving him. Great show! You'd think they were my friends :teeth:

I am not planning any excursions until my new passporter arrives :Pinkbounc . Although, I am interested in Anguilla thanks to Ginger. I am just concerened with the timing. We'd have to go early in the day to have enough time for everything. I would like to be on the beach at least a couple of hours (at least). Do you think that we would have enough time Ginger?

About Trick or Treating.....
We are in St Maarten. It may just be easier to go with what the ship does for TOT. With being in port and early seating dinner I'd think an organized Dis tot would be difficult. I'm planning on having a pail for each kid in the stateroom filled with candy and fun stuff. I have the name of the woman somewhere who delivers to the boat. Even the ship has a cute Halloween basket. Either one, I'll do something. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer :sad2: . I just think for me personally it would be a bit overwhelming with all the other activities planned. Kristin, you decide.

Maybe we could do a dis t o t the day before Halloween. It is a day at sea. I personally hope we can find a way to do t o t since I am really looking forward to it! I have to agree with Princess Olivia, It might be too much trying to fit it in on a port day. Just a thought. :confused3

have a great trip can not wait to hear about it...

Thanks for well wishing bon voyage thoughts Terri / Kristen.... and anyone else who I might have missed as I skimmed backwards here.... the cruise was pleasant in a somewhat low key sort of way.

so - having had 8 days to evaluate (compare) carnival and the spirit to our past few Magic sailngs... i can summarily say that Disney does it better than Carnival.

Off hand, I think we are getting used to the rotational dining, plus the more appealing range of diversions on a Disney cruise for our family versus CCL. Not to say CCL was no fun; on the contrary it WAS fun. Only we do tend to have MORE fun on the Magic. :scratchin Plus the stage shows are SO MUCH BETTER on the Magic. Now... the meals were actually comparable... except I must admit we've had better cruise fare on lines other than DCL or CCL. And, as for staff... the Disney staff are one or two notches more refined without a doubt. The kids club with CCL is tiny compared to the resources on the Magic. Plus the club diversions and procedures are just a notch or more better or more elegant with DCL.

As for Spirit advantages... the live music was very good... and the pool and hot tubs were larger and in greater abundance ... so CCL gets the nod there. And... the refrigerator magnets were cheaper.... I think we saved a buck an' change there. So... other then that the big difference was :rolleyes2 we got an extra day (8 versus 7) plus a veranda for less than a window on the Magic.

OK... if I let myself continue I'd write a LOT more. So I'll just cut it off here and start reading backwards through the tread from here...

TTFN ! pirate:

Overall... it was enjoyable enough but... we are looking forward to this Magic sailing.

:cheer2: WELCOME BACK CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

We've missed you. Glad to hear all was well. I agree with you about CCL.

Princessh, The only thing I'm concerned with is the days at sea are so packed with activities for the kids. I'm sure if we planned the timing right it could work. However, that night could be pirate night or formal night.??? Ginger, what's been done in the past?

Buck,
So just teasing youa bout goin gto see him. YOu sure do have a busy weekend...YOu need to take some time off and get some rest....

CAPT,

WELCOME BACK!!! Missed you...We will surely catch you up on things now that you have returned..We expected a longer post from you...we have missed you...Glad you had a great time...

Kristin

I have to agree with the T or T the dayof Halloween could make it a bit tricky...I do not care either way...I guess we can see what the group thinks...

Ginger,
The list mistress has added your info..Is this what they call the person in charge of the list??? Never been called that before...
Sounds like you will have a nice group travelling with you...
Oh I totally understand why you can not take on something so large you just seem to be the most knowlagable with having been on the Halloween cruise before...We will have to rely on you for your expertise with your past halloween cruising...

Off to bed...Jen, totally agree with you about the Shows...YOu were right...I second move on lady....He does not love you who would stay with him...Oh wait just look at him..

Capt, welcome back again....

Thanks for the welcomes .... :thanks:

..... and as for the "short" initial postings.....Well...

I'm still sort of dealing with the sensation of a heaving fluid floor and random sense of imbalance at home so typing much while seated is a bit of a problem (LOL :rotfl: )... and we're sort of catching up with piled up stuff and right about now I'm watching the Olympics on hi-def... (it's mildly amazing in resolution)... and I just got back from the library. Had to return the Mexico tour books and check out some new stuff for the kids.

SO... give me a little time to organize my thoughts and to pause and consider whether a Spirit trip report combined with a Magic comparison would constitute an off-topic posting for a cruise meet arena. Naww.... all I really need to make it valid is a request for a comparison based trip report.... :thumbsup2 .... and I'll draft one AND copy it to post with modest editing on the cruise critic trip report forum! Hey... I git ta post two places with the same effort, ... why not, eh?

OK... gotta finish my supper and watch the speed skating thing.... :)

OK... rather then add another seperate posting I'm coming back to edit this one. Anyone else watching the Olympics out there? A Georgian Ice Skater just finished her energetic routine. I can't say my spouse and I are any serious critics of the sport except to simply say we're so impressed by their performances! How on Earth these kids get so good is beyond my comprehension except the presumption that they must have practiced thousand and thousands of hours on ice! And of course, not tonight so far - but normally we like to follow the downhill skiing events. My dear spouse used to ski on the NASTAR racing circuit when she was younger... while I was snow ploughing down the bunny slopes. SO we do sort of get a buzz watching those events.

OK,... back to edit again... and "Oh Yeah!!!!" .... Sarah just won the 1st place in the skating thing tonight. She had such a snappy and precise performance.... while the Russian 2nd place finisher a scant 3 one hundredths a point behind.... we don't funny appreciate how she was so much better than some of the other skaters. It was sad to see the Georgian skater in the audience looking on after Sarah won... and this may seem a bit numb witted... but we sort of wondered why the announcers were not saying that Sarah won a gold medal. SO does this mean tonights' performance was only part of 2 or more trial events like a decathalon? :confused3

OK, gotta go git more vittles before it all gets packed into the fridge.

There is a thread for the May 27th cruise, in fact it is now the largest thread on the boards with over 27000 posts. I let Fran do all the posting on it. If you do not read it every hour then at the end of the day you have 10 pages of reading.

XLT800

Now THAT is pretty amazing to imagine.... 10 pages a nite on 27000 postings?!!? That is just .... AMAZING. So... our little gathering with now 50 poll votes seems so humble by comparison. Oh well.... that's OK with us as things seems positively relaxed (and cozy) here by comparison. :grouphug:

Kristen

And on this matter ... I THINK that I can suggest a few other things we were knocking around for our 2005 Sept sailing... so... how about a cruise meet with a theme? Like a TOGA party complete with a few kegs of lager loosen up the gathering? OK... we actually TALKED a lot about THAT concept but ... alas... we did NOT do it even though I found a web site that was selling toga costumes on clearance for only 5 bucks each. So... how about we organize try for a semi-private costume party?!? Can't we get a thing going with some creative minds contributing token ideas? OR... how about a semi-private Haunted scavenger hunt? On our last sailing we did organize one of these and it went off well. AND how about we set a plan for an organized DIS group photo? Now THAT one should be easy as we just circulate that we'll do it after the initial DIS meet OR after the 1st organized semi-private event following the DIS meet.

OK... so if I take a little more time I think I can toss up some real "interesting" group proposals. But it's getting late and I'm obviously reading backwards through the thread and quoting a few postings with replies here. OK.. back to looking backwards through the thread.... :coffee: Oh yeah... it was RonnieJo66 who suggested she would host a DIS gathering in their suite as they did on their 2005 Halloween DCL sailing. And if this comes to pass... may I say that I saw a photo series by another family who had their concierge cater the the thing and it seemed like a nice way to have a gathering. Maybe I can dig up the link??? :scratchin

Adios til tomorrow.....

SURE you haven't. Isn't usually YES, Mistress Kristin :worship: :lmao:

Funny Jen Real Funny that is what you can call me now...he he,,,

Capt.
Love your ideas..we knew when you returned that you would have some neat ones...the toga is great...idea...and so is the private costume party....Great ideas...and so glad that you are back...

How's about having the T-or-T on Sunday say around 1:45 p.m.. That will give those who are having brunch at Palo time to get the kids and get them ready.
Everyone can meet on Deck 3 Atruim at 1:45
Getting organized into groups, getting the groups started by no later than 2:05 on their hunt. Starting each group on a different deck, the groups will quickly move from deck to deck hitting only staterooms that have sign on to par-take in the event. Everyone should be done by 3:00P.M.
From there we could all head over to the Promenade Lounge or to RonnieJo66 :lovestruc if she wants, for a DIS group met party: .
(BTW RonnieJo66 I'll put my kid in the club, come bearing a gift :drinking1 , and take my shoes off at your front door. :worship: )

Crash,:mickeybar welcome home. Will that be a long toga or a short one? :hyper: Will you be enter DCL's costume contest???? :upsidedow :woohoo:

:scratchin Formal Night is Monday or Sunday night and Semi-Formal is on Thursday. Pirate's night and Halloween, combining the two could be Tuesday night our day at St. Maarteen. They really do like to stick to their routine scheduling of things. Just wondering when they will have their T-or-T since we will be in port all day on Tuesday. If we are leaving port at 7ish and dinners start a 6 and don't end till around 10 the costume contest usually get under way at 10:15p.m.
 I would bet that they have their halloween events on Monday. Even a better reason for us to do ours on Sunday.

O.K. that was just to much thinking on my part, I'm off for a nap. :faint:

Oh yeah... it was RonnieJo66 who suggested she would host a DIS gathering in their suite as they did on their 2005 Halloween DCL sailing. And if this comes to pass

RonnieJo66 is not on our cruise. I wish they were as they are super people and do hold great parties in there suite. We have cruised with them twice. I think they just filled out the survey.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Dave
