Today we had pictures taken...I will post them tomorrow...They came out soo cute if I do say so myself......

The twins are growing up so fast.. I am getting ready for the big fourth birthday party this weekend coming up..On friday a kid party with 20 kids maybe 21 waiting a response still from one....Plus parents etc...So that should be fun..We are having at creative playthings...
Then the next day is the family party with 40 plus at our home...so it will be a busy weekend and by sunday I will be ready to collapase...Then I will ahve to reorgainize both playrooms etc....But the b-days are huge here and it is all my fault....Then the real b-day on the 7th we will do dinner out etc....presents all over again...we will be all caked out. by then...

Ok got to run and change the laundry over again....and want to go and eat the chocolate brownies jsut made...

HI Everyone,
WE just signed up for the Halloween cruise. THis will be our 2nd Disney Magic Halloween cruise and our 7th Disney cruise. We had originally signed up for the 11 day cruise but decided to cancel and do the Halloween cruise. It will be me Teri, and my Husband Rick.

Teri
Welcome to our SCARY little sailing Terri (& SO Rick), and akghutton....

I am impressed that you passed on an 11 day passage for our "HAUNTED" voyage! :lmao: I guess this means the rest of us are just going to have to try that much harder to make our trip a little more scary and "over da' top" for fellow Castaway Club folks like yourselves.

I for one will have to add some previously unknown dimension to my Mickey ice cream eating Contest to make up for 4 days of lost sailing now! LOL... Ok, maybe I'll not do anything different - but just strike a resolute posture for one or two moments as a mock gesture to put it "frothing over the top!".

OK... my bid at being silly is really getting silly in a sad way. That's what happens after 5 days of shock from caring for our daughter with the ear infection. I tell you... there were times this past week when I was thinking I was well past "my limit" with my daughters' unhappiness. For several stretches it seemed as if there was NOTHING I could do to relax my little peanut. Oh well... it's a good thing we saw her Doc and dosed her with meds. :woohoo:

And akghutton... we have 2 daughters aged 2.8 and 5.5 when we sail. SO maybe our kids will see one another at the kids club and for a few other things on the cruise!? May we send your boys an email from my older daughter? She sort of dictates to me as she pretends to type. And we'll use the private message links rather than post publicly here.

OK... enuf of us...

And welcome aboard folks!!!!! pirate:

Welcome to Teri and Rick and to akghutton....It will me me, DW, DD11 and DS14 and this will be our 7th DC.

Looks like we need to send Kelly to Colorodo for all her meets, she did really well there this weekend. :cheer2:

Steven and I just got back from WDW. We did get to AK and rode EE (Expidition Everest) It is a fantastic ride. Very different. It is a very smooth coaster. I am sure this will change bet we waited 2 1/2 hours each time we rode it. ( We rode it twice) You only have to be 44 inchs to ride. If you get to the world, do not miss this ride!

Dave

Dave,
Dh wants to know more about the ride...Was this the first weekend it was opened is that why the wait was so very long???? How does it compare to Rockin Rollercoaster, outside is it or inside????Ok enough questiosn ... congrats to kelly ....

Well Captain! I can safely assume that my youngest daughter will dazzle as tinkerbell. My older daughter has not made up her mind. I also have not made up my mind as to what I will be... something fun but easy??? No telling what I can come up with. This is my daughters first cruise. They are 7 and 9 now, and I adopted them when they were 4 and 5. This will be ther first time to fly, and to see the ocean. I am VERY excited for them. I have only been on one cruise and it was when I was 13 so.. well... :rolleyes2 a FEW years ago!

Kristen.....It was open this weekend to passholders and maybe DVC members only. It does not open to the general public they say until "Spring 2006" whenever that might be. It is part outside and part through the mountain. Just like Thunder Mountain you are on a "train" Same type of seats as Thunder Mt (Just a bar across your lap) Rockin is more of a thrill ride with the loops and going upside down, with this you go forward and backwards at a high rate of speed. Like real train tracks they "switch" the track in the mountain so you really have no idea where you are going and what is next. :thumbsup2

Oh dave, thanks for sharing Dh is going to love this ride..He was just reading your post and said he can not wait to go on it...Sounds cooll.I think my kids willb e to small to go on it...Bet a ton of people were riding it....I think you said you had a long wait to go on it....thanks for sharing...

Deanna,
Hope you had a nice retreat we missed you..Picture people was good and here is the newest picture for you to see..I will post the others when they email them to me....kristin

Kristin, The retreat was really nice. I wish I could say I'm rested, but the truth is I'm more tired than ever. Lots of moms up too late last night with a big bottle of wine and getting very slap happy. I probably only got 3 GOOD hours of sleep. BUT.....I must say I feel spiritually renewed. Oh.....and great picture of the girls! Looks like they did very well.

Congrats to Kelly on her meet :cheer2:

Captain.....Hope your daughter doesn't have to get a root canal. Drew had one in the fall and it was not pleasant. He had several ear infections as an baby, and apparently the antibiotics have compromised his enamel and he is very prone to cavaties now. Hopefully the experience of a root canal will encourage him to brush better! And floss!

deanna,

Welcome back get some rest...I am thinking that the older the kids get the easier the pictures get...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!! :cheer2:

captaincrash- It was kinda hard passing on the 11 day cruise, but we just did a Carnival Cruise January 8th-14th and decided we should save some vacation days. I must say I lOVED our Magic 2004 Halloween cruise we "Dis" Board people even had our own state room to state room trick or treating. We had about 30 Families sign up and had about 50 kids participate it was great. It was the best Halloween I have ever had!! pirate:

XLT800- I am so jealous that you just went to Disney World. That is my Favorite place and I am having serious withdrawal. I am in need of a Disney Fix!!! :stir:

Hope Everyone had a great weekend.

Well... I must add that we would love to encourage and join in a cabin to cabin trick or treat evening for "our kids"... I heard there was a rumor that the folks in cat 4 or higher did the trick or treat thing and skipped on candy and just handed out crisp "green backs" instead! :woohoo: .... plus I have already volunteered to run a "Mickey Bar SPEED EATING contest" :mickeybar like what I ran on this past Sept Magic sailng. AND... we're probably game for most other things that are likely to be proposed here.

And on passing on 11 days with consideration for the annual cruise load... that makes practical sense - without a doubt. So, you know from our perspective we've never been on a sailing that ran longer than 10 days ... and we're never done a Panama crossing. Plus I vaguely recall there were longer Disney sailings for the Christmas Holiday which we were considering (I don't recall if any were 11 day voyages). :rolleyes2 So... the idea with doing something that's a little different is appealing to us.

So... on another note... our hot water heater just failed! :furious: Arrrgh! It seems we had a 12 year warrenty heater and it was installed about 5 years ago... so now I'm going to find out if the warrenty was worth the moola. The WH was from Home Depot... so we'll soon find out how this bit of melodrama unfolds! :rolleyes1

And on another note.... anyone notice we are up to 40+ respondants on the cabin survey? I marked us as being in a cat 9 window.... as we are mildly fearful of our active kids climbing up to the railing. :sail: Plus... we save a little change... :lmao: and we're leaving room for DCL to upgrade us in case they have something for us. :thumbsup2 2 years ago we were upgraded from a catagory 9 to a cat 6 veranda... and if it's free we'll take it in spite of our lingering fears. :woohoo:

:disrocks:

TTFN!

CaptainCrash and Kritter,

Thank you for the warm wlecomes! Sorry for the delayed reply, our family has been battling the stomach flu for the last week, so I am falling behind on my DIS replies.

The cruise is a 10th anniversary gift for me from my husband!! He's the best :cloud9: Between my parents joining us and the Oceaneers Club, we are hoping to eat at Palo's one night to celebrate.

We are DVC members, so my only slight concern is going to be the room size, as we are use to having more elbow room in the DVC villas. We are staying in a Cat. 9 room on deck 2. Has anyone stayed cat. 9 before? If so, what did you think?

CaptainCrash,
I am sure my son would love a message from your daughter. His name is Aidan, and he will be 6 in August. He is very excited about this cruise, as is the whole family. We are currently trying to get familiar with what to do on-board and at the ports of call. Having a 3 year old at sailing time, we are finding our excurision options pretty limited. I have a feeling that we will be spending a lot of time at the beaches, which will be fine with me. :sunny:

Thanks again!
Keely

Hello All,,

Hi,
We are thinking about attending it since we will be at WDW on the sunday before the cruise...My friends who live in orlando have been with their son and say it is great...The headless horseman who starts the parade she said is scarey....I am worried though that the twins will be scared but hoping not..

Would love to also hear what others are thinking about it...

Let me know when you hear the dates are out..thanks...

kritter,
The person on our cruise that started the Trick ot Treating ( Thanks GINGER)had everyone sign up that wanted to participate in handing out candy from their staterooms, we had to list our names and stateroom #. We had a sign up for the kids who were participating and their ages, I think 13 was the cut-off. there was a dead line about 10 day's before sailing. WE had trick or treating signs to post on our door's to show we were participating. WE had group leader's who volunteered to lead the Children in groups so there wasn't too many kid's going to the same door at the same time. There was a list made with the group leader, the Kid's in Their group, and the stateroom's of those passing out the candy, each group leader got their own list. . WE all met in costume at a particular place. Each stateroom that was passing out candy had to sign in to make sure they were still participating and they were given a trick or treating sign to put on their door to show the group leader's they had signed in. The group leader's had to sign in and were given their list of staterooms passing out candy , the names of the Kid's in their group and the order their group was to go. Everyone got in their group and gave the people who were passing out candy a few minute's to get to their stateroom and then we started. I think we had about 5 or 6 groups and they started out on different floors with everyone finishing up around the same time. When your group was done you went back to your begining location to wait for your parent's to pick you up. It took about an hour from start to finish. We took photo's before everyone started. The only problem we had was having such a large crowd meeting in one area.We met in the atrium but had to move several times as we were blocking people. Each group leader had a mickey shaped paddle that had their group # on it that they held in the air. It made it easier to find your group. We don't have any children but would love to participate again if anyone wants to head up this prodject. I am sure there are a lotof people on here with lot's of idea's to make this even easier.

Teri
