That's great! Very impressive score with a fall. My sister used to compete at level eight, until she had an injury. she now teaches gymnastics on the side. Sounds like your daughter is really doing well! Congrats!

Thanks, princessh....
We're really proud of Kel. Last year she was a AAU level 4. They moved her to USAG level 7 this year. A huge jump for someone who, at ten, has only been doing this since she was 7. :woohoo:

We sail May 27th. Teacher's last day will be May 26th. We'll drive to the port that afternoon, just so that we can "start" our vacation early! :thumbsup2

How are the girls this afternoon?

Fran
:teacher:

Fran lucky you in Florida you get out so much earlier than the kdis up here..I know you go back earlier but still..it is early and you get more of the summer...

The girls are not good at all..Hanna honsetly is worse and they are so upset since they are missing a b-day party tomorrow...Hope has pneumonia now and Hanna sounds like she does too..but she is on the meds too.....

Kritter

Hope your kiddos feel better soon. My 9 year old just got over a bout of pneumonia... it was NO FUN at all. Your kiddos will be in our thoughts!

Thanks so much...

Kritter I hope your little ones feel better real soon. :worried:

Well 3am ressies went very smooth. It let us start making the ressies at exactly 3:00am. Some others that got up late either did not get brunch or did not get the times they wanted. The Palo ressie's went very fast. We got dinner and brunch when we wanted and we got parasailing on CC. We also registered Kelly in the club's even though she hardly goes.

Kristen....some more PD for you and your kids. Hope they are feeling better today.

oh dave, congrats to you and Fran.......When did you guys plan to have brunch???
Oh I am sick now with bronchitis ....we can not shake it in this house......

Kristin,
You take care of yourself......Bronchitis, with your health condition?!? Get some help with the girls, too. Dh had pneumonia just before Christmas, and it really wiped him out. I can't imagine how hard it must be for those little girls! And to be sick yourself??? UGH! I hope you have some help there.

Fran......Congrats to Kelly! I'm sure it is such a pleasure to watch her compete.

You don't want to buy a Toga costume. Heck no!!! It's going to take up to much packing space, just pack a few safty pin. Look in your stateroom DCL provides them for free. For a long togo you can use your flat bed sheet. For those who prefer a much shorter heim line. Well, that's going to take a little bit of work. Grab a pillow case off your bed and start riping out the side stitching, but not all the way down, just enough to get your arms through. We want to see you, just not all of you.
If you have any pillow cases left over the kids can use those for T-or-T bags.
:rotfl2:
Nice pictures BTW.

What a HOOT....

You're soo funny. And - I thought I wuz being silly. But if you think aout it... there is a certain simpicity to this... that is resorting to flat sheets from the ship. I'm sure every cabin steward would comply IF we asked for a spare or 3! LOL!

:rolleyes1 <shuu.... I still want to have a toga party if anyone is still up for it.... don't mention this to the Disney cast folks who may be... L-U-R-K-I-N-G .... but we can hold it on the secret fantail veranda... deck 7... on day 3 of the cruise... 11PM ~ be there or be square? ... every cabin partcipitating rolls a keg out there and I'll bring fireworks, strings of tacky tropical palm trees illuminated on a string, a huge ghetto blaster, some tropical CD tunes, a fog machine and strobe, plus a long extension cord that will run all the way back to my cabin (and my keg will be apple cider since my spouse and I don't drink much alcohol) ... and remember ... keep it ... very Q-U-I-E-T... :lmao: >

Anyways... to everyone in general... we're happy to have everyone crack a grin over our photos from the Carnival cruise. But it won't be exactly like sailin' on the Magic as Tchermom has scheduled for 90 days out! Tchermom, I imagine I'm speaking for many of us in requesting a series of photos from your sailin' just so us less fortunate sorts (who are waitin' til October to sail) can be assured that our Magic remains as we expect it!

Oh yes... and congrats to your daughter on her performance. I must confess we know relatively little about the details of scoring (or rather "I" know little... since I recollect now that my spouse WAS a gymnastic competitor when se was younger). SO... "I" am sort of learning as I watch the Olympics, watch my daughter practice and read about it all here! In time I will learn more and someday I'll have a full appeciation for all of this. But if it's just the same... harty congrats to your daughter (and to your family) with the performance achievement!

Cheers to all.... :thumbsup2

oh dave, congrats to you and Fran.......When did you guys plan to have brunch???

We booked the first brunch , 10:30 on Thursday

Our Palo dinner we booked for 8:00 on Monday night.........we know it is formal night, but that just means one less set of "dressy" clothes. Kinda like killing 2 birds with one stone. This will be the 3rd cruise we've done this for, and it has worked out very well for us.

But it won't be exactly like sailin' on the Magic as Tchermom has scheduled for 90 days out!

All I can say is.................
and yes, we will post pictures when we return.

I must confess we know relatively little about the details of scoring

Don't feel bad, Crash....we're her parents, and still don't understand it! :scratchin

Fran......Congrats to Kelly! I'm sure it is such a pleasure to watch her compete.

It is hard to believe that a child who can flip and land "blindly" on a 4 inch piece of wood, can't walk across the kitchen floor without tripping! :rotfl2:
But, yes...we love to watch her!

Yeah...

I would love to someday see one or both of my daughters compete (win or lose - excell or just be lucky to make the team) as being a parent is so much fun (after being so wacked with the stretched schedules and wayward demands). Seriously... we were just at the park a couple hours ago chatting with another parent about te huge joys of parenthood. Watching our kids just chatting together and spin around lazily while laughing it up on the swings was such a SIMPLE pleasure!

So saying you love to watch your daughter ... well ... we can relate to that fully!

And as for the photos on your return :woohoo: we'll be waitin'!

Kristin,
How are you feeling today? How are the girls?

thanks for asking we are all not any better..Hope is worse I think..going to call the dr. now again...I feel terrible can not even talk now....Bet DH is glad about that...thanks for asking though...I need to call my pulmonlogist and let him know about my cough, etc...

Yes, I've returned from the vacation of sun and fun...my toes are very unhappy about having to wear socks and shoes. These 0 degree days are a tough adjustment from the 85 degree temperatures we were enjoying only days ago!

The RCI cruise was okay, but the difference between RCI and Disney is VAST. And not just in the kid's programs, which were sorely lacking on RCI. The RCI facilities/staff were not equipped to accommodate the number of children on board, nor were they age appropriate for the kiddos. Our 10 & 11 year olds were bored with the kids club, and quite frankly so were many other kids that age and it showed in the attendance at the kids club. But since our kids were not permitted the freedom to roam the ship in the evening (too many out of control drunken adults, in our opinion), the kids club was a better choice for them than spending the evening with hubby and me.

From the adult perspective, RCI Enchantment had lots to do, but its staff did a poor job making it known when an event was starting, ending, and where to enter/exit. The staff's people management skills needed some work. There were several areas of the ship that always smelled of vomit (ew!), there was a ceiling panel that remained missing the entire voyage (I'm in facilities management, and that's just not professional!), the waitstaff seemed to have too many tables so we didn't get the attention we should have, the food was okay, the facilities were okay...but we spent an awful lot of time commenting that Disney did this better, Disney would never let that happen...etc.

On the upside, we had a great time in Key West, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. LOVE THAT WATER!!! There is no other color like that blue/green!!

Wow, it took some time to catch up on the activity here from the last two weeks! You guys are awfully busy!

Regarding shirts, there would be no minimum order, cost will depend on desired graphics and shirt selection, lead time...I'd like a month in order to get it all together. That way I can receive all the checks/orders and have my sister process them. Is anyone interested in designing the shirts? My sister is great at taking ideas and turning them into shirts...

PrincessOlivia, I read the Red Tent and really enjoyed it. Have you read any of Diana Gabaldon's books? She's a clever writer who skillfully weaves history and romance, with a touch of humor and science. I enjoyed DaVinci Code as fiction, but am concerned for readers who don't realize that it IS fiction and incorporate what they read into their doctrine. Scary.

Kristin, I'm praying for you and your dad!

Bucki, I wish we got EWTN or ANY Christian broadcasting here! We have very basic cable, and there is just nothing inspirational on, so we watch little television.

Princessh, welcome aboard! Our 11 year old boys are going to have a blast, I'm sure! Right, Bucki? :)

Must go tend to the 700+ emails received while away...

I will never be able to think of Capt. Feathersword the same again! Thanks for sharing! Hope your littles one start feeling better soon!
