Apple TV+ has a holiday special on Christmas:

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (British hand-drawn animated holiday special based on the book by Charlie Mackesy, starring the voices of Idris Elba, Tom Hollander, Gabriel Byrne and Jude Coward Nicoll. Produced by JJ Abrams. A boy travels with a horse, a fox and a mole and learns from their various skills.

I had a feeling it would be like that. Nikki Deloach has an earnestness about her that can make her movies really heavy. But, Ashley Williams isn't like that. Can I watch the second movie without watching the first?
Yes. They aren't linked (storyline or character-wise).

I mean, I love Idris Elba but if I can’t actually look at him 🤷🏽‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

Anyone else see this?

Here's Lacey's photo, for those who don't want to click on the link. It's from Christmas Con 2022 in NJ a couple weeks ago. Lacey's caption on her Instagram, "When you run into many of your Christmas movie boyfriends at the same time 😂 "

There were 32 Hallmark Christmas stars at Christmas Con interacting with all the fans for photo ops, selfies, and autograph signings.

Some pics snipped from a local NJ newspaper of some of the other stars with fans:

And some of you may remember that last year, I posted about a woman at Christmas Con, who was critically ill with extreme heart failure and arrived in a wheelchair, pushed by her mom. One of her wishes was to get a photo with Andrew Walker.

This year, she did an update on her public Facebook page.
(This photo is not staying up. I'm taking it down in a couple days - like last time. But, I thought you might want to see her update.)

"Some of you might remember me from last year. I was critically ill with heart failure and a severe abdominal infection. I had missed out on months of my life and really did not want to miss Christmas Con so my daughters and mother wheelchaired me around. Andrew Walker was by far the sweetest star we met. He gave me a smooch to make me feel better. When he saw me this year, I reminded him who I was. He remembered me! I showed him this picture and he was blown away! He said “we need to reenact our selfie!” So he took my phone and did! Two kisses from my dream man! ::swoon::"

This is just one person's rankings (the author,) and not rankings by ratings of the totals of people who actually watched, but it was interesting to read his rankings.

He put the dead husband comes back to life movie at dead last. :thumbsup2 (No pun intended.)

I put the color-blind movie quite a bit higher. And I would have rearranged a few more. (There are quite a few movies I still haven't watched that he put at the bottom. So, my intuition may be right about them not being very good.) And, I agree with a lot of his rankings.
I really liked the color blind movie too. It was very sweet and a bit different storyline

An Eclectic Christmas.

I liked the storyline, but not the actors. They all seemed to be a bit dull. And most of them spoke with a sort of breathy, soft voice, like they were unsure how others were going to react.

🎄 🎄

Merry Christmas, friends!

I have the Gift of Peace set to DVR and will share how I like it after watching and the same with A Christmas Melody which we DVR-ed last night.

:grouphug: ✝️🎄

Christmas on the Rocks.

I really enjoyed this one. The storyline was not complicated, and the actors really seemed to feel comfortable in their parts.

🎄 🎄 🎄 1/2

I was just happy to see Christopher Russell without Cindy Busby 🤣

We need the ability to multiple "Like" something: 🤣 :thumbsup2 :worship:

Speaking of Cindy Busby, she was in the GA Family movie, Crown Prince of Christmas. Cindy is getting increasingly nasal and it's affecting her performance. Or it's affecting my ability to watch her. She played a character with low self esteem and with her nasal voice, it seemed like all she did was whine, whine, whine.

What was really interesting is that she really CAN sing as she sings at the end. She obviously had voice lessons. So, why doesn't she get a vocal coach to help her with her nasal speaking voice? :confused3 The story line was barely passable. I give this movie 🎄🎄+1/2

A Recipe for Joy is on now on Lifetime. It was already at about a 5.6 on the IMDb .com. I barely lasted 15 minutes as the male lead was so NASTY. Supposedly we are to give him a pass because he's a talented chef. NO, he's just a nasty person.

I left the TV on and went to do other stuff, came back an hour into the movie and he's STILL nasty. Done with that movie. I notice the movie has dropped down to a 5.4 as people must be inputting their bad rating as they too turn the channel.

This year, I skipped listing Christmas movies on the ION Channel as they were so incredibly bad last year. I just looked up the IMDb ratings for their 4 movies for this year. So far, the ratings are at a 6.0 and higher. Although there aren't many people who've weighed in yet. (It could be all the cast, crew & family who voted.)

I'm recording the last two movies airing tonight to see how they are.

On the ION Channel tonight:

The Search for Secret Santa
at 6pm ET. Currently 6.5/10 on IMDb .com
Starring: Skye Coyne, Alex Trumble and Jackee Harry.
Description: A struggling journalist finds a mysterious package she later learns had been stolen, and tries to reunite the valuable nutcracker inside with its rightful owner.

The Case of the Christmas Diamond at 10pm ET. Currently 6.2/10 on IMDb .com
Starring: William Baldwin, Margie Mays, Tryphena Wade.
Description: A holiday mystery. A Christmas diamond goes missing during a holiday house party, when a working class guest gets blamed she’s forced to find the real thief in order to clear her name.

The very last new Christmas movie of 2022: :sad1:

UPtv: Christmas in Wolf Creek at 7pm ET
re-airs: Mon 12/26 at 1am ET
Starring: Tim Rozon, Nola Martin.
Description: Holiday sequel to Love in Wolf Creek. A woman and her new boyfriend must find a missing reindeer to save the annual Christmas play for the town.

I watched most of that one and fast forwarded to the end. Her voice is now on my last nerve. I decided I really enjoy Christopher Russell, but I can’t watch her anymore 😚 Seeing them separately clarified my thoughts. 🎄🎄for me.

This one did not hold my attention. I tried to rewind and watch again. Nope, wasn't happening. It just had a very low budget, beginner actors vibe about it, with actors doing "important overacting" with dramatic pauses and facial expressions at each other. :headache: I turned it off after 20 minutes.

Yes, I agree that many of the ION movies suffer from the same problem. Unfortunately, since I am antenna only for tv right now, they were the majority of the holiday movies I could watch. It’s not just the acting though. The writing also seems rather amateurish as well. I guess everyone has to start somewhere, and they did provide some holiday background in the house.

It wasn’t all bad though. One channel was playing A Christmas Carol (George C Scott version) multiple times through the month and I think I caught every one of them. It’s my favorite non-musical version (all time favorite is Scrooge with Albert Finley).

If you have Internet and a ROKU, there are a lot of free ad supported channels you can add to watch Christmas movies. PlutoTV is an example, and they were running Christmas movies.
