Hallmark Christmas in July 🎄 comfort & joy ❤️

With the bitter cold :cold: blanketing so much of the country,

it's time to stay indoors and do this:

Stay warm everyone!

I also just finished Twas the Night before Christmas. I liked it. It definitely has supernatural / magical elements in it. Very cleverly written.

It would be interesting if they had filmed alternate endings to the trial and next year, they show us the other ending. :lmao: Then randomly alternate in different years so we don't know which we will end up seeing. :teleport:

A little heads up:

GA Family's Christmas in Pine Valley received a dismal rating of 4.8 out of 10 on the IMDb .com. :scared: That's an even lower rating than the movie with the dead husband come back to life movie, we discussed earlier, now at 5.0. And for reference, the lowest (barely) acceptable Hallmark/Lifetime movie I may watch is usually a 5.4 .

Holiday Heritage.

Sorry, just didn't care for it. I don't really care for movies where everyone has a crisis going on. Grandfather/husband died, daughter(s) not getting along with mother(s), broken love relationship. Not really my idea of a happy holiday escape.

I definitely have to be in the right mood for the heavier movies, I still haven’t watched the one with Nikki DeLoach because I know that’s going to be something.

Alternatively if I’m feeling heavier, the light ones annoy me. So I hear you, Not every movie is for everyone. That was one of my favorites this year. I’m glad there are a variety of offerings to help us all enjoy the holiday season! 🎄🎅🏽🤶🏽🎁☃️

I watched that just before Thanksgiving. Looks like I rated that a 5 but truly it probably was more like 4.5. I wish IMDb had 0.5 ratings to actually give when you're in between numbers.

I wish I had skipped it though.

That's me too. I haven't watched The Gift of Peace (I assume that's the movie you're meaning with Nikki Deloach) but I asked my husband if he wanted to watch it with me because it was high rated but he decided to pass on it.

There are some movies in the past that have been really good but the emotional aspect means you need to be in the mood for that. And some you'll never really be in the mood for, it happens :goodvibes

Yes, I still haven't watched Nikki Deloach's movie from last year, Five More Minutes, as I thought it would be too heavy. Not sure I will get around to watching it or the sequel this year. (I haven't watched Gift of Peace yet either.)

And I had to stop watching the Beau Bridges movie where he played a father with growing Alzheimer's. Just too heavy & sad for me, even though I saw people here say it ends hopeful.

Alternately, after that movie and watching some other heavy movie, Haul Out the Holly, coincidentally premiered at the right time. It's lightness and self-poking fun at all the cliché Christmas elements with lightheartedness was like a breath of fresh air after all the heavyness. I really needed that. The clichés were very comforting. I liked not having any heavy, sad, surprising moments, but just moments of pure fluff and fun. But, can I just watch that at anytime? No, I have to be in the mood for it.

Today and (possibly) tomorrow are the last days to watch On Demand Christmas movies on Lifetime. They are going back to their obsessed, stalking neighbor movies right on Dec 26 and probably the On Demand movies will change too. No warm & fuzzy extension to Jan 1st like Hallmark does.

Last night I re-watched Christmas A La Mode again. And will re-watch Christmas Pen Pals and maybe Every Day Is Christmas again before they leave.

I didn't think the sequel (this year's offering) was that heavy. But, yes, the first one was more so, but not bad.

I had a feeling it would be like that. Nikki Deloach has an earnestness about her that can make her movies really heavy. But, Ashley Williams isn't like that. Can I watch the second movie without watching the first?

Hope this isn't a duplicate, but a rating from worst to best of the 43 Hallmark movies from this year -

https://www.thewrap.com/all-43-new-hallmark-christmas-movies-of-2022-ranked-worst-to-best-photos/

This is just one person's rankings (the author,) and not rankings by ratings of the totals of people who actually watched, but it was interesting to read his rankings.

He put the dead husband comes back to life movie at dead last. :thumbsup2 (No pun intended.)

I put the color-blind movie quite a bit higher. And I would have rearranged a few more. (There are quite a few movies I still haven't watched that he put at the bottom. So, my intuition may be right about them not being very good.) And, I agree with a lot of his rankings.

There are two Santa trackers in addition to the usual NORAD Tracks Santa, if one has these streaming services and prefers to give the kids something additional proof to watch:

Peacock: Santa Tracker (The Today Show All Day channel will present a live Santa tracker to keep track of the big guy on his around-the-world journey)

Hulu: Breaking News: ABC Tracks Santa Livestream (LIVE coverage of Santa’s journey across the world)
