Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

Undercover Holiday.

While I agree she can't sing, I thought the movie (if you overlook the actual singing) was kinda cute. I thought both the leads were very comfortable in their roles, and helped the story move along. I didn't really care for the sort of spoiled child attitude she had when finding out that Matt and her brother (?) were hiding all the notes she had been getting. But I guess they had to have some sort of conflict to resolve at the end.

Lifetime: The Holiday Dating Guide
(re-airs Sun 12/18 at 12:01am ET
Sun 12/18 at 4pm ET
Sun 12/25 at 8pm ET
Starring: Maria Menounos, Brent Bailey.
Description: A dating expert’s publisher asks her to prove her advice really works by making a guy fall in love with by Christmas Eve.

The Holiday Dating Guide. Very nice movie. I figured out early on what the conflict was going to be, way before we (the audience) learned who Michael was.

🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄

I liked The Holiday Dating Guide. I mixed up Maria Menounos with some fluff ball model who is dumb and can't act, so I almost wasn't going to watch this. Glad I did. Maria is sharp as a whip and it showed in the movie. It's intelligently written. It's a sweet movie. It's a clone of the Kate Hudson movie with the same plot. But, I liked it anyway.

🎄🎄🎄🎄

Have watched two since my last post, both in my "honest fluff" (or🎄🎄🎄) category -

Noel Next Door - This one was OK. The concept was clever, and I loved the mom character, but I didn't really like the kid at first and found myself getting a little too angry for fiction at her ex. I was happy with the ending, though.

A Christmas to Treasure
- The treasure hunt aspect was fun, but I've realized I don't do as well following the ones with a lot of main characters and
I knew who the central couple were, but somehow I expected it to be a situation where they hadn't realized they liked each other back then, and now happily did. - I wasn't mentally prepared for it to have been a bad break-up they were still kind of fighting about. I just wanted sweetness and light.

Watching Three Men and a Baby again as it is on. It was mentioned earlier that Kimberly Sustad and Paul Campbell co-wrote the movie.

Ali Liebert is in this as Tyler Hynes co-worker. I just remembered that Ali and Kimberly are really close friends. They used to audition together and end up in each other's movies, one being the lead and the other as the best friend. I wonder how many others that were cast are good friends of the writers and stars. :grouphug:

Sigh. Well I just realized the Rose Bowl Parade is Monday instead of tomorrow, so I guess I’ll get another movie in 🥰

Today is the last day of Christmas movies airing on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, ending at 6am ET. :sad1: I like though, that they end with Signed, Sealed & Delivered for Christmas. One of my favorite movies. ❤️

Tomorrow is the last full day of Christmas movies airing on the Hallmark Channel, ending at 8pm ET with their New Year's movie premiere, The Dog Lover's Guide to Dating.

I was looking to see if someone had posted the section where the three wise men dance together. I couldn't find that. However, I did find a clip where the guys danced it again for Christmas Con a few weeks ago.

Paul mentions at the beginning that it's been a couple months since they had to do the dance together. And you see them talking amongst themselves, trying to figure out the moves again. To me, that's more interesting than the dance as you get to watch them collaborating together.

🎉 Happy New Year! 🎊 :rockband:

Thank you to everyone who made this a successful Christmas movie watching thread. :santa:popcorn:: And thank you to those who quietly lurked to see what movies to watch. :ssst:

I still have several Christmas movies on my watch list because of the many recommendations given. :teacher: :thumbsup2

Moving forward, Hallmark has some new series they are starting with strong female leads. One is with Andie MacDowell as the matriarch in The Way Home.

The Wedding Veil trilogy is coming back next weekend. I thought originally when I heard they were doing a second round, that it would be three new female leads, and lesser known. I wasn't sure about wanting to watch that. But, it appears Lacey, Autumn and Alison are back! :woohoo:

Tonight, Hallmark is kicking off the new year with the premiere of The Dog Lover's Guide to Dating.
Starring: Rebecca Dalton and Corey Sevier.
It's on at 8pm ET on the Hallmark Channel.

Description: Simon believes Chloe is the girl of his dreams but can't seem to win over her beloved pup. He enlists dog trainer, Alex, and soon finds himself wondering where his real connection might be.

If you are still not ready to watch new movies, it re-airs:
Mon 1/2 at 6pm ET
Sat 1/7 at 12pm ET

GAC Family: A Christmas…Present at 8pm ET / 7CT
Starring: Candace Cameron Bure and Marc Blucas.
Description: Also executive produced by Candace. Maggie and Eric are busy parents of teenagers who embark on a trip to the home of Maggie's widowed brother to celebrate Christmas. Everyone has different expectations of the perfect holiday. Through a series of transformative events, Maggie learns to embrace the season. (Filmed in and around Tulsa, OK.)

A Christmas…Present is up on YouTube for a limited time.

If you don't like Candace Cameron Bure, you really don't want to watch this movie. I only like and re-watch 4 of her movies. In some of her others, she annoys me.

In A Christmas…Present, she irritated the crap out of me. Her character and her portrayal of her character was really unlikable. I pretty much only watched because I like Marc Blucas.

The movie is quite different. This is about a couple who've been married for about 17 years. And even though they still love each other, they've emotionally grown apart. It's about what it will take to get them back together again, along with their kids and extended family. Yet, Candace even irritated her family in the majority of the movie, so that they didn't want to be with her. And it went on for too long. We get the point already! :crazy2:

Contrast this couple to the one in last year's Mrs. Miracle movie. The couple was also emotionally separated, due to the wife's grief. But we LIKED the couple and were rooting for them to get back together. Candace's movie, not so much.

The redemption at the end was good. If you watch, my suggestion is to skip the middle two-thirds of the movie. You only have to watch one or two scenes where she steam rollers over her brother and niece and her family, and you've got the middle. Fast forward to the end, where Candace is standing out front the church.

Once inside the church, since this was on GA Family, they didn't shy away from mentioning God, Jesus, and faith, which was really refreshing, as that's what Christmas is really about. The music cuts out at one point for about 10 seconds due to YouTube's obeyance to music Copyright laws. But then we get to hear a normally unknown verse of Silent Night. Later, the pastor says the words of another song, "Oh, come all ye faithful," in a way, I had never really thought of before, since I learned that song by rote so young.

Imzadi, I saw a little of The Dog Lover's Guide to Dating last night and have it set to record in a couple of weeks. I wasn't overall taken by the small portion I saw but since I am a dog person, will give it a try. Did you watch it? :dogdance:Always appreciate so much and enjoy reading your and everyone else's on this thread's movie shares and thoughts. Dad and I are enjoying watching A Little Christmas Charm. I'll share more once we have finished the movie. Prayers all of you are enjoying something good tonight on TV and are keeping warm and well:grouphug:to all.

I watched this one and it’s a one and done for me.
I had high hopes but it was too much in all the ways you described ☹️

@flyingdumbo127 I haven't watched it yet. I'm also hoping someone here watches it first to tell us how it is. :lmao:I agree that the what little I saw in the promo doesn't look appealing. I'm hoping it's one of those Hallmark movies that settles down after the leading characters get past the "sparks fly" portion and get to know each other.

Yesterday I watched When I Think of Christmas. I am a big Niall Matter fan. That said, there were some plot points that just didn’t work for me, and it felt way more contrived than organic. 🎄🎄🎄1/2, may or may not watch again.

That one didn't hold my attention. When I have more of a desire to go wash dishes instead of watching, there's a problem. :lmao:But, then, I can't give a decent review as I didn't finish watching.

Niall Matter is also in a mystery movie this weekend. But, it's with the actress that ruined a Ryan Paevey or me, so I couldn't watch it again. >:( So, I'm going to pass on Niall's upcoming movie unless it gets really, really good reviews, as I have no interest in watching her. This may turn out to be a not very good few months on Hallmark for Niall if this movie turns out kind of lukewarm too.
