Hi everyone!

So the physical... It was ok I suppose. I was frustrated that my weight loss wasn't really acknowledged (down .6 pounds this week...not a lot, but still a loss). And also that it seems to have made no difference in my blood pressure - at least at the doctor's office. He looked through my records with this practice, and it's consistently been around this level in the office. He started me on a water pill to see if that will bring it under control. It's not HIGH, but it's on the very upper end of borderline. That's both frustrating and scary because if losing as much weight as I have hasn't brought it under control, that may mean I'm just genetically screwed in that area. We'll see what happens - I know I have to increase my potassium even more...and I'll definitely be mixing sports drinks in with my water so I don't get hypotranemia when working out. At least he said my amount of exercise was good. So that's a plus. He also put me on Advair again, which I'm fine with - took my first dose last night and had absolutely no need/urge to reach for the inhaler at all during the night. I'll obviously still carry it with me just in case, but I remember from being on Advair before I hardly EVER needed the pump.

This afternoon is a cross-training day. I'm thinking I might do Jillian Michaels' Banish Fat Boost Metabolism instead of No More Trouble Zones. It's cardio and kick-boxing based, so I can get out some aggression.

Did I mention I'm now adding in the 5K on Marathon weekend? I talked my sister into doing it, so I'll be walking that one with her.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!!

~beth

Good morning y'all.

It's a chilly morning here in Southern Kentucky, 36 degrees. I know Scott and Lynn are snickering about 36 being chilly, I think that's the spring temperature where people start laying out to work on their tans.

We have the expo tonight for the race, the expo here isn't much, then they have a small paper bowl of spaghetti with red sauce on it they call a pasta party. But the race is first rate in that it's flat and through the historical section of town, the area I grew up in.

This is a good place for a destination race, hint hint, with about 4000 entries and a drawing for cash prizes at the end. In a year or so a certain crazed panda that lives here will be able to host guests.

Have a magic al day guys.

Good Morning Team!

The weather for Sunday's race is not looking good.....rain....rain.....rain.
Busing is at 7 but the race doesn't start to 10. I will be making my garbage bag ensemble this evening.

Vicky, Glad to hear the knee is doing ok. For Sunday I'm not "feelin the love" as my DD would say. I think I kind of slacked on some mileage. We will have to see how the day goes. It will also depend on which way the wind is blowing....up or down or sideways off the river will make for an interesting race.

Dave, Did you get your furnace/ cable fixed?

Denise, Nice job to Nick.:thumbsup2

Beth, Nice to hear you are doing the 5k with your sister.

Margie, You are a photographing machine. 94 pics. That's why we love digital. DD took 500+ pics on this last vacation. Hope things go well today for your DD at the doctor.

Good luck to this weekends racers.

A short run tonight. Off to Niagara Falls for the weekend & then I will be away next week for work.
Have a great weekend/ week of training. Keep up the awesome job everyone.......Sue

Good Morning Team!

Denise – great clip! Glad Nick had fun with DWTS.

Vicky – yes, we have a riding lawnmower, the portion we mow is not that big, and we do use a push mower for the trim and around trees and sections that are too narrow for the riding mower. The majority of our 2.5 acres is left to field grass, we have probably the equivalent to a city lot in cultivated grass, then mow a strip about 15 feet wide of the field grass around the perimeter of cultivated area. Next month we are headed to WDW for a long weekend to catch Food and Wine before it closes up, and then the Space Coast Race the end of Nov.

Beth – Glad to hear that the doc at least liked your exercise! Hope the Advair works for you. The 5K at WDW is fun, you and your sister will enjoy it.

Dave – Actually it is 41 degrees here with the sun just coming up! Good luck to you and Sally for the 10K!

Margie – glad to hear the firehouse tour went well, I bet the fire fighter hats went over really well! Our leaves all blow away, we do not have to rake! It is supposed to rain later today, but looks great now. (Snow is predicted for next week:scared1:)

Sue – Good luck on your race!

Elizabeth – Good luck on your races!

Mike – Good luck on your half marathon!

AFM – The dogs and I got in 3 miles yesterday and the Pilates tape, a few minutes on the spin bike, and the short bike ride to get the paper. This weekend we are headed to a bike (bicycle) show (Veloswap) in Denver on Saturday, and Scott thinks we need to blow out the sprinklers on Sunday as snow is predicted for next week (4-6 inches!):scared1:

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day all!

Hello, everyone! I'm off to Myrtle Beach, SC, this weekend for a 5k. I'm feeling unprepared for the half so I won't try it on Sunday.

Wishing everyone good races and a great weekend!

Hello Hello Everyone!!

I am VERY excited:banana::banana: to be an honorary guest member of this team!!

I hope everyone had a FANTASMIC week!!!!

I am proud of myself because Margie and I got out this morning for our walk despite the scattered rain showers! I know that without out a buddy I would have turned around and went back to bed! Thanks for the motivation Margie!

WOD (Workout of the day) called for 30 easy minutes.

Total miles: 2.91 (so close to 3!!!)
Total time 45 minutes
Avg Pace:15:42 min/mi
Avg Moving Pace: 14:36 min/mi
Best Pace: 8:57min/mile (We must have been REALLY trucking it at some point!)

Have a great day everyone!

Days left until the 1/2: 77!!!

Welcome Nikki!! :hippie:

Today was running club fun run in Central Park! Today was another 4 miles at 3:2 intervals. I went the opposite way of last week - much happier legs on the hills going this way. There are still hills, but they're more gradual and spread out. On the other (East) side there's a big long hill that's somewhere between gradual and really steep and is just a...well...you-know-what to deal with. I HATE Cat Hill going up it. My pace was a lot better overall today than last week. Probably largely because I didn't have to drop to a walk for more than half a running interval! :) The numbers are a little screwy on my Garmin Connect page because I had to skip through a few intervals I'd programmed extra (I can do time OR distance, but there's no way to say "3:2 for 4 miles". Life would be so much easier if I could!!) and my "cool down" was basically marching in place because the running club group was still hanging around and it would have been rude to just keep going and head back to the church where we meet.

Skipping yoga this afternoon because I need to go get in the shower and get ready to go to a party for one of the girls in club who's moving to London. There wasn't time to do everything. So yoga will be done tomorrow even though tomorrow should be a rest day.

Hope everyone's well!!

~beth

Veloswap was interesting, scored a very kewl Mickey cycling jersey, Lynn got a bunch of socks, and there was a lot of team Garmin kit on sale, so get shorts, jersey, bib tights, socks and shoe covers, also found some old block and white photos of Eddy Merckx and Major Taylor, and a color print of Greg Lamonde winning the Tour.

I was inspired by all the old restored bikes to restore my old Motobecane to riding status,so that consumed about 16 hours of the weekend, but it is nice.

We did get the pups out for a walk, very windy here and rain and more wind in the forecast.

Welcome Nikki.

Weekends are way too short.

Welcome Nikki!!!!

Well was suppose to get 12M in but life and weather had other plans so MIke and I got 8 done late last night, got home showered and bed...don't like that way so much, legs still felt they needed to be walking, I think I walked a few more miles in my sleep but at least they are done.

I need some help.....I am going to Princess weekend which just happens to fall on my 45th...shhhhhh I wanted to go to Cinderella's Royal Table but of course I wanted to long and booked. So I need suggestions. Up for any type of food but would like a Character meal. I have never been able to find one but does Tink ever do any character meals? I have never seen one but thought I would ask.

Have a great Monday all. To my fellow Ontarian's get out there and vote today.
