Hakuna Matata - Running with the Reindeer!!!

Good Morning Team!

Vicky - the new computer is a desk top one. We do have iPads that do travel with us.

Saylan - hope you feel better soon - here is some Pixie Dust for a quick recovery!

Sue - yes, all the gifts have been mailed! Now I can think about our New Years Eve cruise!

I just had my hair highlighted and cut - $98 for both.

AFM - Never did make it out yesterday, wind 40+mph all day long. I was nearly blown away just getting out of the car at the mailbox! I did get down on the spin bike for 30 min. We did catch part of the eclipse last night, I just woke up at 12:30, went out to check the clouds, and they were thin enough to see the moon, so I woke up Scott and we watched until it was full, about 10 min, then went back to bed. The clouds even broke for a few seconds so we could see it clearly. Also saw a shooting star (left over from Monday’s meteor shower?). We have a dusting of snow on the ground, and our high today is to be 33 degrees, but I should be able to get out with the dogs.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Good morning team!

Lynn - I woke up at about 2:45 to see the eclipse but wasn't too wowed at first. I think because the eclipse was already complete and the moon (to me) was barely visible. I did stay up another hour and it looked more impressive and brighter when I was able to see part of the moon contrasted with the reddness. I am very tired this morning though so I got my coffee early :)

Saylan - That's why I don't get highlights. I don't like the maintenance. I do an all over colour but use two different colours. I go for a slightly lighter red/brown shade on top and then a dark black on the bottom. And what's up with that lady yelling at the cashier. I think this time of year people are easily irritated partially because of the warm winter coats they're wearing for hours and hours on end indoors  But seriously, that was nice of you to help out :)

Sue - WTG on your 13 miler! Do you have a loop that's x miles that you run a few times or do you have a 13 mile route? Watch out if you go running tonight. I noticed the streets in my neighbourhood were extremely icy this morning. Maybe because it's so cold? My hair cut isn't $125 but it's not much cheaper either. I only get it cut 4x a year so doubt I could go much above $100. I know some ladies who pay close to that and go several times a year

AFM - Not much of import to report. I'm hoping things are quiet at work today. Today's a rest day for me. I might try to make the magic cookie bars today. I do have to get a pan to make them. We have a brownie pan that's a lot smaller than the recipe calls for and another pan that's way too big. Go figure!

I checked the number of text messages I had sent this billing cycle and it was waaay more than I usually sent. I'm still within my limit but pretty close to it. I guess that's why my phone's always running out of batteries

And speaking of haircuts ... I can't remember if I mentioned that I got lash extensions last week! It was an extremely long process but so worth it! I've gotten a ton of compliments and I don't have to mess around with mascara anymore. Yay! They do take a bit of getting use to because they bump against my glasses now

Have a great day everyone :wave2:

Good Morning Team!

Went to bed last night & it was very cloudy. Set alarm for 2:15, got up & was suprised that it was a crystal clear sky. Poked my head outside to see the eclipse. It was about 3/4 complete. Too cold to wait it out for the full effect but it was pretty neat what I saw.

Margie, I might just have beat you to posting today!

Vicky, Did you buy the coconut? We use sweetened.
I wandered the Eaton Centre at lunch yesterday. CRAZY! I'm pretty much done & wrapped. Maybe a couple of more stocking stuffers. Our work is pretty quiet. The train is also. I'm off Monday & then taking the rest as lieu days for the marathon. Are you working?

Saylan, Take care. Glad to hear you booked for the Princess.

Lynn, Do your dogs like the cold/ snow? My crazy dog loves it. He can't get enough of grinding his head into the snow.

Connie, How's your DH doing? Are you travelling for Christmas or hosting at your house?

AFM, Yoga last night. Only 4 of us. We got a lot of personal attention from the instructor to correct our poses.:thumbsup2 Running 10k tonight.

Have a great day............Sue

Good morning, Everyone!

Sounds to me like the Holiday week is here and everyone is shifting into high gear. Congrats and ENJOY all the new cuts and color! What fun. And taper, gotta LOVE taper!

AFM, Jon has a torn meniscus AND arthritis. It was probably messed up cartiledge that caused the problem. Same thing in his back a couple of years ago. He has an appointment with a surgeon next week.

I hope for his sake, there isn't a lot of recovery time involved! I may go on vacation somewhere while that happens.

Grandkids will be here any minute! Gotta run. Love -Connie:santa:

Meeting Rita for dinner tonight.

Lunar Eclipse- We had extreme cloud cover. I did catch glimpses of the a bright full moon, watched it throughout most of the eclipse.
I stayed out side and shoveled while watching-
Well, in the moments it was not fully covered by the clouds. I could
not even view the total eclipse! Did not see any of the beautiful colors
they are talking about. DD watched it on the Internet/Nasa website.
I finally just went to bed.

Hi guys!

Yeah, I'm good. Taking a couple of rest days to do yoga stretching and bonding with The Stick for the IT bands.

Yesterday went to a theatrical reading of Heartbreak House and got to catch up with a friend who was in the reading (yes, she's a Broadway actress and yes, we really are friends). We haven't seen each other face to face in a while because she was first in Chicago opening that production of a show and then came to play the role on Broadway. I've seen her and seen the weight she's dropped with all the rehearsal and performance of it (NO she is not in the hot mess that will result in someone's death if they don't stop - aka Spiderman. An actor fell 30 feet last night and it wasn't even a flying sequence.) in pictures, but she hasn't seen me since I started really dropping and she honestly didn't recognize me. It was great to catch up.

Today was the holiday and awards show at my site, so we've just ushered the lingering parents out from that. Two days left. Then break for a week. Woo!

~beth

Hi guys. Well Christmas is almost upon us and then when that's over we are all going to be getting stuff ready to leave for the mouse house and the race adventures.

Next week will be a busy one for us since we will be going to Ft Campbell to get Sally signed up on the DEERs program so I can get her on my TriCare benefits. That will probably go smoothly but ya never know.

My training is still inadaquate but it will have to be enough. These last couple of years of extra bitter winters have made a huge difference in my training since I can't train outside.

Hope Jon's knee doesn't require a lot of recovery time Connie.

Everyone have a magical day.

Dave:hippie:

Hello team!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had a good day, it was pretty low key since we just got back from vacation on Sunday. DH brought home cupcakes for me.

We had a very fun vacation at Disney World despite the weather. It was freezing there, but I think it helped keep the crowds down. We also went to Wizarding World of Harry Potter which was awesome!

I think the weather is worse here. It's been raining very hard for the past several days and we're supposed to get the worst of it tonight and tomorrow. Flooding and mudslides are a concern. We didn't get to see the eclipse last night because of the weather.

Have a good night!
Emily

Good morning, everyone!

Margie - Thanks for leaving the light on! Think you can pick me up in Detroit, again? :lmao: Or maybe I will just drive and see the country side! I'll let you know when the surgery is, so we can make the arrangements!

Sue - I am hosting Christmas! It will be fun. We don't have a huge house, but we have lots and lots of space. And perhaps, this year, some snow! The grandkids love playing on the 4 wheel drive ATV's and the mules. The boys will all do some hunting and us girls can always find something fun to do!

Happy Belated Birthday, Emily. Btw, I love your name.

I did get up to see the lunar eclipse, but like everyone else, it was cloudy and about all I saw was the moon looking red. Reminded me of that sailor's poem. Red moon at night, sailor's delight. Red moon in morning, sailor's take warning. Or however that thing goes. Got some baking done yesterday, The magic cookies with pretZels, not as good as I had imagined. Oh well. They are still good. :lmao: Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I have one really big box wrapped beside the tree. It's driving everyone crazy, because there is no name on it. :rotfl: It's my way of insuring that teens and pre-teens, and cynical grownups still have sugar plums dancing in their heads!

See ya - Connie:santa:

Good Morning Team!

Vicky - that is one advantage of being retired, you do not need to look good all the time, I get my hair highlighted before a cruise, it covers the gray, but is not so strong that it is really noticable when it grows out.

Saylan - feel better!

Sue - the dogs do like the cold and snow - we do not get a lot of snow here, but when we do, they will be rolling in it.

Connie - pixie dust to Jon for his knee and surgery!

Margie - yes, we will be home for Christmas, but leave the Monday after. Still working on new computer - Scott is now off work, so we have a couple of days to work on it - getting new programs loaded, etc.

Beth - have a good break!

Dave - good to see you back on here!

Emily - hope you miss the flooding!

AFM - We were having issues with the wireless router, and I spent all morning on the phone with folks trying to isolate problem - in the router itself, Scott bought a new one, so we will get that installed today. Spent the rest of the day shopping - not Christmas, just stuff like bird seed and dog food and people food! No exercise yesterday, hope to get out today with the dogs before they get really goofy!

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Good Morning Team!

Roads/ sidewalks are dry & free of ice/ snow but the temps & wind are COLD.

Vicky, How's the new winter coat? My friend does eyelash/ brow tinting. Never heard of extensions. Going to the RRoom at lunch to pick up a couple of stocking stuffers. Then I'm done.

Margie, For a change we are having our big Christmas feast on C. Eve.
DH is a fabulous cook. He cooks the turkey on the charcoal bbq. :lovestruc
My inlaws live in the town of Niagara on the Lake. Small quaint town outside of Niagara Falls. We are staying in Niagara Falls on Sat. night, having Christmas dinner at Margaritaville (we are parrotheads):thumbsup2 then spending Sunday with Dh's family. I've mentioned this before but I will run from Niagara Falls to their house. There is a paved path running along the Niagara River (escarpment) that I follow. It's about 12-13 mile run.

Are you having the Chrismas party at your house or are the boys going to a party elsewhere?

Connie, Are you doing all the cooking? Hope everyone is lending a hand to help you out.

AFM, I had a pretty good 10k run last night. A little cold but the wind was calm(ish). 1 plus is looking at all the pretty Christmas lights.

Have a great day everyone.........Sue

Good morning Friends!

Sue - I sent a grocery list to DS Blackberry yesterday. Now, he has no excuses for not picking some things up! DD is bringing homemade candy, the turkey, and a cheesecake. DG(10) will be making pizzelles today and on Christmas everyone will chip! It becomes a family affair!

Margie - DS was telling me about a procedure that may "fix" Jon's knee without surgery. That would be nice.

Vickie - Are lash extensions permanent? Are you going to have your eyeliner tatooed next? It's so much fun to live vicariously through other people. --Got your money, thanks.

Saylan -Feel better soon!

Lynn - I had to make that grocery run yesterday! Nothing exciting. I finally have 3 pairs of cardinals coming to my birdfeeder. I also have white doves, Euro doves, Mourning doves, blue jays, and lots and lots of finches, starlings, and redwing blackbirds!

AFM - I FINALLY got my DGS Christmas presents in yesterday. While he was out on the ATV, I got them in boxes to wrap. Being a nosey kid, he came in to see what I was doing and helped me pick out the wrapping paper and the bows for each present and then put them under the tree. I didn't put a name on them so he has NO idea that he helped with his own gifts! :rotfl:

See ya - Connie :santa:

No surgery on Jon’s knee would be a blessing… But remember the light is always on!
Whew-Byron’s gifts arrived and it only took 3-weeks!
I seriously cut the bushes the Cardinal used and the little black squirrels are
kings of the bird feeders around here.

Lynn- hope you get a nice dog walk in today!

My new came in the mail yesterday.

Nikki-see you in the morning!

Saylan- lots of pixiedust for your bronchitis’s!

open the New Toy Gifts for Grandma’s house (they stay here).

Vicky-I know a couple others that have tried the eye lash

long and you have to be careful not to get moisturizer near them.

AFM:Normal Day: Little guys-
Lots to accomplish today.

Sue - We have also done turkeys on the BBQ, this year small feast as we are leaving 2 days later. We as also Parrotheads!

Connie - neat birds - we have sparrows, finches and the occasional mourning doves.

Margie - we got the medals yesterday - very nice!

AFM - we did get out for dog walk - rather chilly, then 35 min on the spin bike. It is much warmer today, will try to get out with the dogs again.

Pixie Dust to all who are in need!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick check-in. We're finally at the last day of school before the week and a day break. In one hour we will be putting the little darlings on buses which BETTER be outside!! Then at 3pm we are free. I'll head home and get changed to go and run (first since the 15K since my knee is feeling better now) for hopefully 50 minutes. I feel like a SLUG for not having done anything the past 3 days, injury or no. Then home to shower and pack for vacation. Depending on how long that takes, I'll either head into Manhattan then or hang out at home for a while. When I do go into Manhattan, I'll hit the main post office to mail some pumpkin pie pop tarts to a friend (the building is open 24/7 and I'll use the automated machine and boxes they have out), then drag the rolling duffle to a 24-hour diner or Starbucks to hang out until I need to go to the Marriott Marquis for my 2:25-2:40 pick-up window with Super Shuttle (yes, that's AM. :scared1: ) to head to Newark. I checked into the flight earlier and moved my seat up by 20 rows (love it when they release the blocked off for premium seats at no charge) and hopefully may have an empty seat next to me. I purposely picked one where the aisle but not the middle was taken - so in theory that will be a last-resort seat for someone being in the middle of the row.

I'm not sure if I'm going to pay for internet this time - definitely will marathon weekend. But I'll be back late on the 27th.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!

~beth

Good Afternoon Team!

Just a quick pop in before I leave work for the day!

Beth, Have a great time!

Connie, We have many cardinals that live in the neighbourhood. I just love the males. The beautiful red colour & their great chirp/ whistle/ tweet whatever you want to call it.

Margie, Hope the boys have great fun at their party tonight.

Lynn, How is the packing going?

Have a great evening everyone...........Sue

Merry Christmas y'all. Today is a wonderful day to remember that we are all blessed with the greatest gift of all, being alive. We have an awesome responsibility to make the most of that gift. Making our bodies stong and our hearts caring goes a long way toward making us the person we wish to be.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning Team!

Putting in a few hours at work & then catching an earlier train home.:thumbsup2

Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas. Safe travels to all..........Sue

Hello Everyone!
