Hakuna Matata - Running with the Reindeer!!!

:thanks: Elizabeth!

Sorry to hear your kids have been sick-
I think half of us have colds, bronchitis, sinus infection, or the flu-

But glad your shins are healed-hope you have a great workout today!

Hi from sunny Orlando! :goodvibes

Yesterday I ended up resort hopping to the All Stars, then heading over to Magic Kingdom where I eventually met up with sis and her friend. We saw the castle get iced, rode the Jungle Cruise, then headed over to Studios (when we realized that Holiday Wishes was NOT in fact at 8:30) to see the lights. And ended the evening with Tower of Terror.

Today shall be Universal and Islands of Adventure (a first for me)!

Woo!!

Hope all are well!!

Good Morning Team!

Vicky, I so agree about not having much excitement about this year's race. I just want to get it over with.
Are you working a full day on Friday? I would love to meet you for lunch but I'm really busy at work. I have 3 major projects in the New Year & need to get all the prep work done before I leave for Disney.
Glad you liked the tights. With the really cold temps/wind I also need to wear a looser over tight.

Beth, Enjoy your day at Universal. Safe travels home.

Margie, PD for your cold. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Elizabeth, That is great news about your shins(splints).

Dave, PD for you also & your cold. Feel better soon.

Nikki, I've also started packing. I'm an over packer. How about you?

AFM, Had a pretty good run last night. The temps are getting a bit warmer but we still have some strong cold winds happening.
Only 5 more runs (& maybe a yoga class) at home before heading south.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.............Sue

Beth- Have a great time at Universal!!! Say HELLO to Harry Potter and the Frog choir for me!

Sue- I tend to be an over packer if I pack last minute. If I pack ahead of time I tend to weed out a lot of duplicates and items I don't need.

Margie- I hope your cold gets better! Have fun with Brady today! Maybe he will be extra good since it will be just him today!

AFM- Working out tonight with the hubby and trying out my new Nathan Triangle water bottle holder! Take care everyone! Only 1 more week until I leave for the South!!! SO EXCITED!

I sheepishly say hello to my team..

I haven't been here in almost a month. Life has been just too busy to sit down long enough to check in here. Every winter I say that summer is over and I'll finally have time to get "things" done. Then work kicks into high gear with lots of overtime, the snow comes with lots of shoveling, and the holidays come with all the activites. And I have to let everything else slide.

Currently I am home with a major sinus infection and I called into work last night. I absolutely hated to, as it cost about $400 in lost pay, as I lost a attendance incentive. My sinuses are so plugged up that when I blow my nose, fluid comes out of my right eye. I am on antibiotics, sudafed, and nyqil. So, if I sound melancholy, I'll blame the drugs...

We got our bib numbers for WDW...Me 27239 (half), Liz 1649 (5k), and Robert 1091 (kids 200m) and we will be staying at the POP from Thursday the 6th to Monday the 10th. I am in no way ready for this race, my last long run was a half marathon on Nov 27th. I have worked out only three times this month with shorter runs in the snow of four miles. I keep telling myself it's all about the medal and finally meeting most of you in person. It's what I'm really looking forward too!

I hope that everyone enjoyed Christmas and Santa was good to all of you. He brought us a new computer printer which I love. A Canon MG5200.

Are we having any team specific meets during the marathon weekend or is it only general WISH group meets?

Anyway, it sounds as everyone is doing okay overall which is a good thing!

- Mike :cool2:

Almost forgot! today marks the one year anniversary of my life extending colon cancer surgery!

Good Morning Team!

Mike, Glad you had a few moments to pop in & say hello. PD to you. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Work is very busy. A lot to do. I better get at it.

Not sure if I will have a chance to post tomorrow. Safe travels to all.
Happy New Year Everyone!............Sue

Hey guys,

Just a quick drive-by. I am like so many others, feeling sick. This is yucky stuff. I don't like it.

Does everyone have big plans for the New Year's Eve celebration? This will be the 16th anniversary of Jon and I meeting on a blind date.

PD, for everyone who needs it.

See ya - Connie

Hi team!

Mike - I will try and round the Team Hakuna Matada members up for a team photo. We should definitely do a mini meet at the Pop meet. And you're on the right team for being undertrained! I think Dave, Kim and myself are all in that category. That just means we'll have all the more energy for the races (I hope). pixiedust: for your sinus infection! Hope you're ready to go next week! And congrats on your 1 year anniversary!

Sue - No problem! It's a little busier here than I thought as well. Maybe in the new year? Are you coming to the Pop meet on Friday? I was planning to try out the compression capris in the gym tonight but the forecast is calling for 10C this weekend so I figure I'll just hit the road instead.

Beth - How was Universal? I haven't been there in years myself. Any news on your flight? Are the backlogs at the airport slowly being cleared out?

Nikki - How was the new water bottle holder? Are you taking it with you to Disney? I'm an early packer myself or at least I make lots and lots of lists. The easy stuff like toiletries and socks can be packed early. I always try to leave extra room in my suitcase in case I go shopping!

Elizabeth - pixiedust: for your kids! Hope they feel better soon! I'm glad to hear your back training and the shin splints aren't a problem anymore.

Connie - Happy anniversary! 16 years is quite the milestone! No big New Year's plan. I'm going to sound old for a minute and say that I'd like to catch up on sleep for the race. Actually I have invitations to two gatherings but the two people don't like each other so whichever one I go to, I'll end up offending someone :(

Margie - How's your cold? Here's some more pixiedust: and  Haven't done any weather tracking yet but since you mention it... Here's a link to the 10 day forecast on weather.com. Maybe you can add to your post that has our resorts and bib numbers. Sunday January 9th isn't up yet, but the weather for the 1/2 on Saturday looks to be nice and on the cool side - a low of 42F/6C and a high of 67F/19C.

http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USFL0372

Lynn/Scott/Dave/Eva - :wave2:

AFM - Not much is on the radar... I'm going to the gym tonight for a 30 minute training session. I've got an 8 miler planned for this weekend and I've heard that the weather is going to be unseasonably warm Friday and Saturday. Will start packing the small stuff and that's about it. No plans really for New Year's ... anyone else?

And anyone attending the Pop meet - we need to get together and do a mini team meet so we can get a team photo!

Have a great day! And Happy New Year's in case I don't make it back before Saturday :)

Mike...I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how you were doing. I realized you hadn't been here for a long time! Such good news about your colon cancer anniversary date!

Vicky...I think having a little Hakuna Matata meet at Pop is a great idea. I always wondered why this hasn't been done in the past. After all, the people we know the best are on our own teams! I am definitely interested!

AFM...I'm trying to decide what I will need to take with me for the half. I'm following the weather thread, and thankfully, the weather forecast looks a little better than last year. (not a big fan of running in the rain; but it does beat running in the sleet!) I'll throw a roll of duct tape in suitcase to keep the shoes dry just in case. Went to see my chiro yesterday. Knees are quite sore and he really worked on them. Going to rest today and maybe get out for a short run tomorrow, before the last long run on Saturday.

Going to take down the tree and put up all the decorations today. Need to get started on that soon.

Hi team,

Wow, I made it here two days in a row! Thanks for all the PD! The meds seem to have started working.

Meeting up at the POP would be great, but if needed we can also meet elsewhere if the POP doesn't work out for anybody. We will have Robert with us, so the larger DIS meets would be hard for us, as a five year old can lose patience with social parents when there are rides to be riden.

Supposed to be 52 here tomorrow, which is unheard of, and windy and rainy. Kind of a Winnie the Pooh type of day.

No plans for New Years, I'll be at work! So party for me!

- Mike

Hello team!

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Like several of you, DH is also sick. I have a cough off and on but that's about it. We had a nice Christmas. DH got me Just Dance 2 for the Wii, which can be quite the exercise if you put effort into it. Not much planned for New Years, just watching a lot of football and the Rose parade.

pixiedust: for everyone who needs it!

Almost forgot! today marks the one year anniversary of my life extending colon cancer surgery!

Awesome Dude!!!

Happy Birthday Eva, one of these days we just have to meet you.

This cold still has me knocked for a loop but I expect today to be a turning point to getting well since 2011 is going to be my year. GRRRRRRR!!

Hope everyone is happy and ready for the new beginning that a new year can bring if you allow it.

Dave:hippie:

Hi guys!

My flight back home is tomorrow (New Year's Day) is at 12:15. They booked me on that one on Monday evening, and I've opted to not bother doing the "call and try to get through" thing. Plus I got things scheduled! :)

Universal - well, Islands of Adventure really - was good. CROWDED!!!! I was there on the second ever day it closed to capacity. INSANITY! I didn't even get over to Universal Studios with my park to park option. My sister and her friend met up with me after their jobs and we went back to WWoHP and played there for a little while. On the way out, they steered me into guest services to see what could be done since I didn't even get to Universal Studios. The guy couldn't refund the PTP difference, but he did end up giving me a free day for one park to be used at any point in the future. Woo!

Yesterday I was dropped at the Boardwalk and took the boat to Hollywood Studios. About mid-afternoon I hopped to EPCOT. Then it was dinner with sis and a friend at Sweet Tomatoes (LOVE!!!), and then to MK for Holiday Wishes, the Main Street Electrical Parade (I LOVELOVELOVE this and have missed it sooooooo badly!!!! Spectro just doesn't hold a candle to it IMHO.)...and then Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks and fake New Year's (they did a preview). YAY!!!

I'm hanging at my sister's place while she finishes up a little bit of work, and then we're going to Blizzard Beach for a bit before hitting EPCOT for NYE festivities.

Real life is going to be tough when I'm done with this!!!!!

Hope all are well and have a great New Year!!

Oh...numbers and stuff for Marathon Weekend...

Good Morning Team!

Happy Birthday Eva! and many happy returns!

Happy New Year! here's hoping everyone has a joyous and happy New Year.

Margie - Hope you are feeling better.

Mike - Hope you are feeling better. Congrats on the anniversary. It's a milestone!

Vicky - Leave off the parties. Last one I went to, it was a brawl.

Dave and Sally - Glad you are feeling better, Dave. Hope it's all gone by the 5th! Are you redoing vows in Disney?

Beth - What a nice extended vacation.

To all the DISNEY RACERS - THIS IS YOUR YEAR!!!

AFM - Trying to get over this darn cold or flu. At least my chest isn't hurting anymore.

see ya - Connie

Happy 2011 (a bit early) everyone!

:bday: to Eva!

Mike, 22 years ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I've had two recurrences since then but I count myself lucky to have such a treatable kind. I know that colon cancer is much more aggressive so I congratulate you on your anniversary.:thumbsup2

Beth, I'm jealous! You are right, it will be tough to return.

Everyone else, feel better soon.
