Hi! WOW...I am impressed...you're up to 16 pages already! Sorry we didn't run into eacother...but CSR is beautiful, isn't it? We were on the opposite side of the resort, over in Casitas 4. I really loved it!

So sorry you didn't make it out for your Wave ADR and EMH at the Magic Kingdom. We had a wonderful time there that night, but it was chilly!

Can't wait to read more of your reviews.:thumbsup2

Karin I have not eaten at Maya as I was told it was not Good by a CM friend of mine !!! But maybe others have had first hand experience !! As for CS places !!! Try Fairfax Fare at DHS !! Check out their menu I think you will like it !!!

Yummy looking Goofy Snacks, wish I had some now.

Awesome haul in that cooler, such a thoughtful gift :)

Your ADR's look really good, some great choices. Which one are you looking forward to most? Apart from WPE :cutie:

Your next batch of ADRs looks great :cool1:
I love your dining reviews and you are going to have soooooooooooooo much to write about when you get back in September :thumbsup2

As far as CS goes, my three favorites currently are; WPE, (which obviously needs no recommendation for you,) Tangerine Cafe at Epcot, and Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary.

Though Contempo Cafe I've only eaten at once, and that recommendation is based on one item only, the beef flatbread.

Great updates Karin!!! I so wanted to fit in WPE, but we were just too full all the time it seemed :rotfl:

What a cool surprise waiting for you in your room!! Not to mention the upgrade!!! That is awesome!!!:thumbsup2

I think your ADR list looks wonderful!

I do understand ..... we were so full all the time as well, :lmao: But there is always a next time ;)
This cooler was NOT the only surprise waiting for us! There were more to come! :woohoo:

Thanks for the :thumbsup2 on the ADR list, ...... I guess it will be changed and tweaked as we go, but its a start! :goodvibes

The only thing I see that I'd think about changing is switching the night you eat at GFC with CA Grill or Artist Point, and eat at GFC when you only have the basic plan.

Other then that it all looks good to me, since every restaurant you're going to is someplace I'd go again or haven't tried, so can't comment.

I know what you mean about the signatures being in the first part, I HAD them all in the second part, but then it looked super scary to have one signature after the other, if you know what I mean! :rotfl2:
But we will take it into consideration! :goodvibes

Your ADR's along with the pretzel rods from Goofy's are mouthwatering! There is so much I haven't eaten yet at WDW but I see you have some of my favorites like Jiko, Sanaa, and Tokyo Dining on your new ADR's .
We are probably going to be at WDW 3-4 days before our cruise next time so we are already trying to figure out where to go. We are doing the MNSHP so one day at MK and I think we are doing HS this time. I have yet to see Fantasmic and was thinking of doing that dinner show. Just hope they are showing it on the day we go. I heard they cut down the days.
So HS we are thinking Sci-fi, turkey legs, Fantasmic, or Brown Derby. MK will probably be QS or Liberty Tree. For sure we want WP Cafe. I will have to figure a character meal in there somewhere. We haven't been to Hoopdy Doo Review. But also haven't been to Chef Mickeys in a long time. Well have to see if you are down there when we go. I am meeting up with some DISers from my last cruise:) Can't wait for more!
Chris

They REALLY have cut down on the Fantasmic days! We have seen it several times and even getting a Fantasmic Package is getting hard these days!
We love Sci-Fi at DHS! It's not Haute Cousine, but it is just perfect for a drive in movie restaurant! :rotfl2: So much fun eating in those cars.
If you do CS in MK, don't forget CHH! The food is really good and the upstairs seating makes for such a treat, looking out onto Liberty Square. Cosmic Ray's on the other hand is fantastic value for money!
When ARE you planning to go back? Meeting a fellow DISer is just so much fun!

We LOVED CSR! We walked round the lake once and looked at all the other parts - I was so impressed by the ranch part of the resort! And we loved the Casitas - it so not felt like a hotel! ;)

As for not making our Wave ADR - we had a tough time going to EMH at the MK last year and if we hadn't our car parked at their carpark (had gone back by bus to the resort) we would NOT have gone back that night. So that night, when we decided against The Wave I was kind of sure we would not make it to EMH. The time change makes it really difficult for us the first day. We always wake up really early (it's 6 hours later for our body :rotfl2:) then we get real tired in the early evening hours - it gets better by day 2 :confused3.

Karin I have not eaten at Maya as I was told it was not Good by a CM friend of mine !!! But maybe others have had first hand experience !! As for CS places !!! Try Fairfax Fare at DHS !! Check out their menu I think you will like it !!!

We have eaten at Maya Grill 3 years ago and really liked it, but it is now on the maybe list! :lmao: there are a few others we haven't tried and would like to do, like Teppan Edo and Chefs de France :scared1:
I have always sworn not to do Chefs, because we can easily get real French food when visiting Mickey in Paris, but now that we thought about it, we might give it a try!
I did look at the Fairfax Fair menu and it is already on my CS list! Thanks so much for the tip!! We have always overlooked it :scared1: what were we thinking!

Yummy looking Goofy Snacks, wish I had some now.

Awesome haul in that cooler, such a thoughtful gift :)

Goofy's snacks are just so YUMMYYYYYYYYYYY!!! I did bring some home, :rotfl2:

And we LOVED the cooler and its contents! We are so lucky having so many good friends who are so nice to us while on vacation!

What are we most looking forward to when it comes to ADRs?? Hmmmmmm, WPE needless to say! :rotfl: Well, actually Flying Fish, Artist Point and Jiko! Only 165 days to go!

Your next batch of ADRs looks great :cool1:
I love your dining reviews and you are going to have soooooooooooooo much to write about when you get back in September :thumbsup2

Yes, I guess I will have quite a dining review to do in September! But then I need to do all the eating first :scared1: :woohoo:!!
Now, if Disney would kindly release it's MNSSHP dates! Thank you! ;)

Thanks for the CS recommendations! We definitely will give Contempo Cafe a second try - had breakfast there once and it did NOT impress me at all! But the word FLATBREAD can win me over big time! ;) :lmao:

Day 3, Feb 15

Breakfast at Kona Cafe

After a good night's sleep I got up at 5.55, started my computer and got ready to do my ADRs for our summer trip.
Surprise!!!!! even though the DIS calculator had calculated the 15th, it was a day early! No ADRs for us that day, so I went back to bed, before finally getting up at 7.30 to get ready for our ADR at

IMG_4205.jpg

We were right on time and were led to our table about ONE minute after we had checked in. (The buzzer went off about 10 seconds after I had been handed it! :rotfl2:)
We were led to one of the tiny tables for two and handed the menu and I swear about 15 seconds later, the server was there to take our order! :scared1:
She was SO surprised we didn't know what to order yet, but at least she was willing to take our drinks order. Coffee for Tom

IMG_4197.jpg

tea for me! The water could have been a little hotter, but I can live with that. I then remembered that I wanted to try the

IMG_4198.jpg

Lilikoi Juice - passion fruit, orange and guava blend. I am not a huge juice drinker, but this was really nice and sweet juice! But one glass was more than enough for me! Maybe an ice-cube or two would not have hurt! ;)

IMG_4204.jpg

IMG_4199.jpg

Tom had the Big Kahuna - French toast, Macadamia-Pineapple pancakes, eggs, home fried potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage. Let me tell, this is a HUGE breakfast! And he really liked it.

IMG_4202.jpg

I had The Somoan - poached eggs with Hollandaise served over smoked pulled pork hash. Not what I had expected, but really interesting and yummy.
I had some hash at Olivia's once and it was lots of yummy potatoes mixed with corned beef - I was expecting something similar with pork. But this was LOADS of meat and very little "filler"! ;) I liked the greens that went with it - very fresh taste with the load of meat!

After settling the bill we got on the Monorail and went over to the Magic Kingdom. We were surprised it was not more crowded but that soon changed!

Here are a few impressions of that day!

We left the park when it got too crowded around noon!

Next up - lunch at Captain Cooks

Thanks for the CS recommendations! We definitely will give Contempo Cafe a second try - had breakfast there once and it did NOT impress me at all! But the word FLATBREAD can win me over big time! ;) :lmao:

we usually stay at the Contemporary resort, so often have breakfast at the Contempo cafe. some days the food is good, some days its average. i usually heat everything up in the microwave as i love hot food.
one thing i found that was really yummy each morning for breakfast was the scrambled egg sandwich (think thats what it was called)
it was more like an omlette, with loads of ham and cheese in pannini type roll which was then toasted. it was lovely and so filling. :thumbsup2

great kona review, i love it there but never seem to choose the right meals for myself so im usually disappointed. im going to try breakfast there next time.

your ADR's look great, youve got a few we're thinking of doing next time. :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed your breakfast at Kona and didn't cancel after all; see ... one person's so-so experience is another person's great morning! :thumbsup2

Yummy looking Kona Breakfast :)

The Samoan looks huge and too pretty to dig into :)

Just read a review on Flying Fish and it looks really good and the decor looks fabulous, you are gonna love it I am sure :)

We were supposed to go to Kona last September. But then I was able to get an 8:05 a.m. at the Crystal Palace and cancelled Kona. Kona is definitely on our "must do" list for our next trip. My husband will LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE that Big Kahuna!

I've had the big Kahuna breakfast before, it's good. Now I want to try that Samoan thing though. My ADR list keeps on getting longer and longer, and I'm running out of time to make decisions.

Karin the Fairfax menu is NEW !!I happened upon it when making my Feb plans and like you thought it was just fries etc , but Disney changed Vendors and the new menu is MUCH better !!You can also get fries at Rosies which is close by !! I did ask about that as it is not listed as a side on their menu!!!

I always wondered about that hash, it sounds excellent and I love how it looks but I side with Tom on the Kahuna Platter! What gorgeous pics of the park, you have no idea how much I wish I was there right now!

WOW is all I can think of to say. Both of those breakfasts look delicious-- and yours is so unique! I've never seen a hash with greens either!
Everything you've picked for your TS meals looks great. As far as CS reccomendations-- we personally love Cosmic Rays, but I know that gets mixed reviews around here.

Lukewarm food was one of the issues we had at the Contempo Cafe - we had one of those platter meals and the food was NOT very hot, the French Toast dry (not even the syrup helped) and the bacon was very limp, :rotfl2:. It was our last day's breakfast and we never made it back, even though I was intrigued by their sandwiches and flatbreads.
Guess we NEED to go back in August! Plus we AGAIN changed our ADRs!! This is kind of a never ending story, ;) :lmao:

Glad you enjoyed your breakfast at Kona and didn't cancel after all; see ... one person's so-so experience is another person's great morning! :thumbsup2

Brenda, you have no idea how often we thought about you!! Most of all when the server came and didn't give us time to look at the menu! When we told her that we would like to have a look first her only answer was that people come in and KNOW what they want! :scared1: :rotfl:
But it got all better from there on and the food was really good!

Yummy looking Kona Breakfast :)

The Samoan looks huge and too pretty to dig into :)

Just read a review on Flying Fish and it looks really good and the decor looks fabulous, you are gonna love it I am sure :)

Guess what, with changing our ADRs we are going to go to Flying Fish twice next summer!! I always wanted to eat there, we never made it there, and finally we'll eat there twice! YEAH!!! :cloud9:

The Big Kahuna IS a man's breakfast! Tom really loved it! This was our first Kona breakfast and I could not believe it that we overlooked it for so long!

I've had the big Kahuna breakfast before, it's good. Now I want to try that Samoan thing though. My ADR list keeps on getting longer and longer, and I'm running out of time to make decisions.

I so understand your ADR dilemma! I have changed our ADRs about 10 times :lmao: since we came home and the ones we made during our visit to WDW already got changed 3 times, LOL! Luckily that far out ALL my ADR changes were possible. I'll post an update lateron.

The menu on allears is from Dec 09 - is that the recent one, because that looks really yummy!
Tom and I had a look at your trip report together as he was curious who Rosie is and we had so much fun! I love it!!

I always wondered about that hash, it sounds excellent and I love how it looks but I side with Tom on the Kahuna Platter! What gorgeous pics of the park, you have no idea how much I wish I was there right now!

Lady, next time you get to stay at the Poly again, you should try The Samoan! It was different, but so good! The Kahuna thing is huge!!!!!!
I hope you will be back to the parks soon, I MISS YOUR REVIEWS! ;) :goodvibes

We really enjoyed Kona - especially since we are not good with breakfast ADRs - it's so hard to get out of those Disney beds! :rotfl2:
We love Cosmic Ray's too, but were not able to go there lately, it always seemed PACKED! But their food is really nice and there is such a variety of it! :thumbsup2

Okay, just a short update!

We changed our resort AGAIN!!! Instead of Saratoga Springs we were able to score a 1 bedroom villa at Old Key West! We LOVE that resort and ever since Disney decided to upgrade our Studio reservation we are hooked!!!!!!!!!
When we wanted to book it there were no more rooms available - today I checked and there it was "my one bedroom villa at OKW".
I was prepared to pay a change fee, but since the price was exactly the same we didn't even have to pay the change fee! Thank you Disney :worship:!
