Hakuna Matata Hearts and flowers!

Hi TEAM!:wave2:

Gym this morning-early gym all this week.
:hippie: yes, we still have a bunch of snow & ice.
Walking outside is still at risk. :scared:

Connie: Love the Mixer & Theme idea! Oh, and thanks for the all the moments on our recent shopping trip! :rotfl:

Jack: Thanks - I so agree - I just want to be healthy, have fun, and finish! :upsidedow
Bunny- 10 m/m is as good as it gets for me right now but we have a long summer for training...... not sure I could do that for ten miles. But hey our medals look the same as the 7 m/m-er's right!

Vicky: Did another scrap booking page - I will post a link to see mine when finished and I do expect to see yours also! :upsidedow

Mary: PTL Anna is out of surgery & ICU - praying for a speedy recovery.

Good morning team. I haven't been here much this week but I'm alive and kicking. Work and extra gym time have taken a toll on my cyber time. I started a face book and haven't been able to stay current with that at all. I do get to throw ground hogs at people there though.:)

I'm off to the gym early also Margie, I have been building back up slow and steady from the marathon and I'm pretty close to normal again. When you are a senior athlete you have to take proper recovery time from the long stuff.

Anyone have a race coming up soon? My first competition is Mar 28th. It will be a 5K walk race along with a 5K run race. The walk usually brings some good talent from Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. I have been third once and second once overall and won the masters catagory for the last two years. Maybe this year I'll finally win the darn thing. Last year I had 4 second place finishes a third and a 5th.

My health club has a Biggest Loser contest going on. I have been helping some of the contestants with their programs.

Have an awesome day y'all.

I came in for the ice creal social.:wave2:
My fav food at WDW is the rice and tofu bowl at the noodle station, it was my creation and it used to be made as a special order, they sold so much to me they tried it on the main menu and it became a hit, so now its perminent.

Good Morning everyone, is it too early for ice cream? OMG My best rehab food- the Ghirardelli " Golden Gate Banana Split" found on the Boardwalk. (This is the real reason I run ;) )

Good morning everyone!!

Welcome to our version of a mixer! I see we are starting early with the ice cream!!!

Generally, my favorite recovery food is a hamburger. But an ice cream sandwich at the Liberty Tree Snack shop is wonderful. It's made with homemade chocloate chip cookies that hold two scoops of ice cream!!!

Hi everyone! My favourite recovery food would be pancakes! Yum! If it's closer to lunch, french fries!! Although a massage the day after is a nice calorie free treat :)

Jack - It's never too early for ice cream!! Thanks for bringing the treats!!

syko - You know, I've never been to the Noodle Station. For some reason, it's always closed when I'm there. I've always wanted to eat there because it has such a cute name.

Margie - I will go this weekend to get some scrapbooking supplies. Here's another excuse... I have to clean off my scrapbooking table which is now my general junk/tax time table.

Dave - I'm going to register for a 10K at the end of April. I think part of the course will be the same as the women's 1/2 in May. Good luck on your upcoming race!

Have a great day everyone!! I'll check back later :)

Hey everyone, thanks for the invite. Is there enough ice cream for me? My favorite WD food is Mickey Waffles. :goodvibes I can't wait to eat them again.

Good Morning Team and guests!

My favorite immediate recovery food is chocolate milk! We have often hit Rainforest Cafe for lunch after a race for other recovery food. My favorite ice cream is a Mickey Premium Bar!

Dave - we have the Bolder Boulder 10K in Colorado on Memorial Day - that will be our next race.

I got in a good 6 miles with the dogs yesterday, wind was not too bad, and did a couple leg exercises. Today I want to get in another good walk with the dogs and will do my weight routine. Tomorrow I start working - dogs will not know what happened :rotfl2: as I will not be home all day! I am not looking forward to what the back yard will look like after they have been left alone all day for a few days! I will have to make sure I get up early enough to get them out for a short walk before work, and another walk after work! I will have to see how working full time affects my work out schedule:scared1:

Have a great day all!

Checking in from 'Ohana - thanks for hosting!

A second on the Mickey ice cream bar, although the Dole Whip isn't far behind!

My favorite WDW quick meal is at Columbia Harbour House - love the clam chowder and tuna salad sandwich. Got there Sunday night post-marathon just as they were closing - they actually stayed open to wait for DH to meet up with me!

I'm off all next week - hoping to get some good runs in, since my 'Ohana teammates will tell you I've been a real slacker since January. Gotta get back to it SOON!

Jackie

Hey kids! Nice social. It's never too early for ice cream, right?:rolleyes1

My favorite Disney foods: any of the sugary treats in either Norway or France, the pistachio gelato in Italy, etc. My husband loves going to the countries for the beer, but I'm all about the sugar! Sometimes I'll toss in a pretzel from Germany to sort of stabilize before my next round. ;)

If I'm at MK, it's the chocolate chip muffins either by Ariel or Splash Mountain around 10:30 a.m. (hmmm... now) to give me a little pre-lunch boost. I think I just realized why my "run more to get thinner; get thinner by running more" mantra isn't working so well.

Recovery food? Provided I've run long enough to justify a "recovery" then it's usually chocolate milk for me...

I should really get the mickey iron someday. But, my thinking is they won't be as special if I eat them all the time.

Stopping by from the Goofs. Thanks for the invite!

Fave recovery food would have to be Egg Beater w/cheese on english muffin. Maybe a slice of nice crispy bacon. Mmmm...

As for fave WDW food, wow, that's far more difficult. Dole Whips are a must as is a Mickey Bar. Also the chili cheese fries at Pecos Bills or the create your own salad bar at ASMo. Then there's the gelato at Beach Club. Grown up grilled cheese at Poly. Hmm, ok way to many things. :-)

Have a great day!

Hi All,
stopping by from Buzz's team. Thanks for having us over.

My favorite recovery item is Slim Fast. I keep it in the cooler in my car and have it immediately after the run. Has to be the original, not the new stuff. It has the recommended 4 to 1 ratio of Carbs and protein. If I don't have that then chocolate milk is a must. Follow that with a small bottle of G2. Other than that, nothing special.

I don't really have a favorite food at Disney but kind of a favorite place. We too like the Columbia Harbour House. Upstairs you can sit over the walkway and just chill int he AC watching everyone walk by. They used to have the Bread Bowls and that was a favorite of mine but they don't serve them anymore.

thanks for having me over,
Duane

I am going to have to try the slimfast. I usually have a banana milk shake.

Hello Hakuna Matata! Just visiting from Ohana........you know we cousins can never turn down a party invitation!

My favorite recovery food? Well I am not a sweet freak so at WDW I usually reward myself with a big 'ole burger and fries. It's nice to be able to have one guilt free, so to speak.
I guess my favorite treat at WDW would have to be those chocolate coated Mickey gingerbread men in Germany.....especially if you wash them down with a nice reisling! I have to thank Nancy for turning me on to that!

Ooops....gotta go...something calls....I'll come back to the party later!

Thanks for inviting us to the ice cream social. This is such a great idea, although it's not helping my diet willpower one bit! Jack's banana split looks absolutely delish--and I'll definitely make that a priority on my next trip. I brought my own treat for the social, though, as it's easily available:

After training runs, my favorite recovery foods are chocolate milk--gee, chocolate, how original of me--or yogurt w/ fresh fruit. If I need prepackaged stuff, I like the Think bars. After a race, my immediate recovery food is :confused3. Pretty much whatever's available. I'm not picky, really. But I do have to say that I grabbed a Diet Coke out of some poor volunteer's hand as if I was an addict and he'd offered me an entirely different kind of coke. :rotfl2:

My race-recovery meal is probably grilled cheese and tomato soup or a nice black-bean burger and tomato soup. (Vegetarian here.) DOOD's recovery foods during training are the same as mine, but for races he likes a Vanilla Frappuccino (there's a near boot and rally story there) and a burger or steak with a good beer.

Add me to the list of people who have soooo many different foods they like at Disney, and different places that I should really do the "Race for the Taste" this year! (Never done it, any reviews of the event and the Epcot fun surrounding it?)

I really like Boma (Fufu, Lentils, etc.) Cali Grill, Kona Cafe (Tonga Toast), and Columbia House (Lighthouse Sandwich). I'm also a fan of Kringla Bakery in Epcot--mmm, school bread is worth trying once--and the Crystal Palace for its breakfast lasagna. But you know what I'd probably run any of you over for? Those peanut-butter and jelly milkshakes at Prime Time. (Just warning you in advance. Do not stand between me and the ice cream.)

That said, I've got some favorites at Disneyland, too, so maybe I need to come back and share them with you?

Good Morning, TEAM & Guest stopping by

No favorite WDW foods- I do not care much for red meat, but I do like my traditional post race hamburg. What a bonus that my Goofy Walking Buddy likes post race burgers too! :upsidedow I am thinking I will try the slimfast on my 10 mile plus training walks.

Maybe try some of the suggestions next time, but my favorite Ice Cream is Butter Pecan in a waffle cone. :rolleyes1

Mary: Praying for a speedy recovery for Anna.

:hippie: 'Seniors' are you talking about me...seeing I am the most senior here? A little respect – please. I love the term, and the looks I get when I ask for the senior discount! :upsidedow

Gym early am – pushed the 15 miles on the bike a bit so I could be under my 45 minutes; and was able to get in part of my lower body workout. :goodvibes

Anne, Connie, Dave & Erica, Denise & Mark, Scott & Lynn, Diane, Eva, Jack, Jennifer, Jen, Jessica, Kathy, MaryJ, Maroo, Nichole, Sue, and Vicky!

Vicky said you all are eating ice cream over here today. Someone make me a Fudgeanna please.

Oh, and my local Ben & Jerry's suddenly closed. I went there Saturday night, and found the windows all papered up. Another sign of the economy.

Hey Deb, I'll indulge with a Monte Cristo sandwhich at Cafe' Orleans.
