Just curious after reading some posts recently about changing guides.

We just laid down deposit, but our guide seems very nice. (Only talked to him by phone.)

Just curious as to how often you really interact with your guide after closing?

Do the guides stay with DVC for long times or do they change often?

:)

depends - my guide Judy has been with them a very long time - since the beginning I think - she did not start out as mind - mind was also name Judy they became friends - so when mind at the time kept getting sick the other Judy would substitute for her - she sold me all my add-ons - so when the sickness got to my first guide to much and she left - DVC put me with someone I had never heard of - much less meet - so I called Judy and she switched me to her this is 1994 - so I have been very happy since!

I highly recommend her - Judy Kaufman! she is a very good guide - not pushy and very well informed!

Judy is my guide also but they are really salesman. I would not look upon them as anything else.

After getting a card or something during our fist stay in '93, we never interacted with our guide in any way at all after the purchase. Our second guide, during that first stay in '93, the first was on vacation or something, we didn't interact with her at all either.

These are salesman, as a matter of fact, they are among the lowest form of salesmen, they are timeshare salesmen.

I think that statement is uncalled for Rich.

Our guide's name is Bobby Corsello. Has anyone else had him as their guide? My wife and I thought he was very good at answering all of our questions and conserns. We bought our original contract and add through him. NO COMPLAINTS

I am a salesperson and i find that statement very rude,Rich. How can you say that about people you dont even know?

We just purchased in 2002,so i do not know how long our guide has been there but he is excellent. His name is Hassan Jahanmiry we also used him for our Add-on.

Our guide was also Judy Kauffman and I think she’s fabulous! She calls us every time we stay at OKW just to say “Welcome Home” and she sends us a Christmas card every year.! I think it’s a thoughtful gesture. I’ve accompanied family members and friends on their individual tours at some other DVC sites and have never been as impressed as I was with Judy. I’m sure there are some other great guides, but I’ve never run into them. Judy is very knowledgeable and never gave us a hard-sell. She told us that before they began selling the DVC, all of the guides stayed at OKW for 2 weeks just to get a feel for the day-to-day living arrangements and what the resort really offered. I know she was selling units at BWV when they were being offered, but I’m unsure what she’s doing now.

My guide was Mary, and I have also dealt with Celeste.I found them to be very helpful and pleasant and they have been very honest and upfront.I too think that it was uncalled for to insult the "guides"-this is a classic example of the statement "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"-why was it necessary to post something this nasty?

Other than the occasional sales promotion in the mail, we have had no contact with our original guide. We did an add on and he would never return our call, "He's in the office and will call you back", yeah right. After several attempts, we demanded someone take our add-on info and another guide took down the info. When the packet came, it had the original guides name on it.

I think that's unfair!!!! There are lots of lower forms of salesmen

car salesmen,
used car salesmen,
insurance brokers.........(at least the ones I have to deal with on a frequent basis:rolleyes: )

Oh and uh that guy from the RonJon's tour I took!

My guide has been great. She didn't do our closing because well...she didn't know we were coming in. Heck we didn't know we were going in that day!

But she did call when we got home to ask if we had any other questions and she called a year later the day before we left for Florida to give us her number in case we needed anything.

I am a car sales consultant and i dont consider myself bad at all.

Well Rich you've done it again!

What's next...a lower form of BWV salesman?

;)

Our guide was Byron. Very professional, great sense of humor, willing to spend whatever time we required to learn about DVC and to discuss any options. He even talked with us about resales and explained the various contracts (stripped, with banked points and the like). Answered every question we had directly and accurately. Returned calls promptly, even when on holiday!

We haven't interacted with our guide (Arneault) much. In fact, a friend from work was the real DVC salesman in our case!

That said, Arneault has been real good at returning phone calls promptly, remembering to call-back 9 months later when points at BCV were announced.

Our first two trips he even called our room just to say 'hi' and ask how the stay was going. Not the past two trips, though!

In our case, I have noticed that he is quite often doing DVC duty on one of the cruise ships - so this has made him a bit more difficult to reach.

My guide is Linda Streetman and I find her delightful to work with. She is not pushy and she has always been pleasant and has really gone out of her way to make sure that we were happy. I hgihly reccomend Linda!!!!!

There are lots of them, aren't there. I wonder how many??

In any event. Our guide is (I think) Raul. We haven't spoken to him since we received our cards 3 years ago, but I can't say I'm not tempted to give him a call real soon ;)
