Guest count increases, how long will it take?

There could be a couple of reasons why you can book 3 people, but not book the family of 4. The lifeboat muster station may be at capacity with the family of 3. Kids clubs may also be at capacity.

Not all staterooms will hold the "max" number. Some may only have beds for 3 or 4 even if others in that category sleep 5. So yes, there is a limitation based on the number of beds. It could be there are no rooms that sleep 4 remaining on your cruise.

There is also a limit by age. So if one of your kids is an age that has reached max capacity, you cannot book.

And since staterooms may sleep a varied number of guests, some rooms may not be available even if there are unbooked rooms if the muster station is full. So it could be there is only space for 3 left in the muster station, therefore only 3 people can be booked even if a room has more beds.

ETA: I just played with the May 21st Fantasy booking, and it would seem they are no longer taking reservations for a party of 4. Either there are only rooms left with just 3 beds, or muster stations are getting full. It doesn't appear to be an age issue.

I think now that they seem comfortable with full theaters and shared tables in the MDR the only reason not to sail full would be if they don’t have the CMs for it which it seems like they do. I do think Easter week we’ll probably see full ships.

That would be less than on our Feb cruise (2,200) where everyone got a private table and they didn’t need to bring in extra tables….

I’m sorry but these numbers don’t make sense.

2200 was announced today for the April 9th
Can I ask who announced that number? We heard 2,200 from our cruise director in Feb before the first show of Aladdin so I am just curious. Not questioning you just wondering who is giving out information.

No offense taken. It was a FB post from someone that boarded today. Take it for what it's worth

What week in February was it? Could have been Presidents' Week which is a break week for a lot of schools. Even moreso than this week with Spring Break based on reports of others who have been on Spring Break already.

We went twice in Feb. I know the early cruise is Feb was almost deserted (under 2,000) but will need to check what week our other one was.

As to the tables -- I suspect that is in planning for future cruises, not necessarily that the current cruise needs more tables. And I honestly haven't heard if people are actually seating with others at dinner.

Numbers aren't going to magically increase just because onboard restrictions were relaxed a week ago. Most people need more time than that to plan. Yes, it's spring break/Easter time, and likely more onboard than early February, but probably not significantly more than on sailings in the past month.
