Good for DVC...I'm impressed!
A discount on the AP is the only discount that provides a win for both Disney and DVC members. Discounting park hoppers just doesn't make much business sense. I understand that some members may be disappointed in that...but it's just the facts. We're PHP buyers...but no bitterness here. Disney does not give away money just because they like us.
I hope to be in a situation to use the APs one of these days (DH will always want park hoppers because he doesn't like to go to the parks every day). However, we like to split our visits into two 5-night weeks per year...usually with one of them at HH or Vero. So, it probably won't make sense for us unless we change our vacation plan. Maybe in 2006!
As far as personal situations and the ability to use DVC and its perks to the fullest go...
I don't know anyone who would say that their life is perfect in every way. I have chosen to be a stay at home mom and raise three kids. My life (and my bank account) would be very different if I'd chosen to stay in corporate America and only had one child. Not bad (I hope), but different. Everyone has choices to make every day that affect their life. We live in a free country. If anyone isn't happy with the way life is going, they can change it by making different choices in the future.
