Hmmmmm. Seems like less of a perk than anticipated. If I understand the above rules, I would not be able to buy an AP for our adult DS, as he lives on his own at a different address. Grandparents can't buy for grandchildren, can't buy a pass for an adult non-cohabiting friend, etc.Originally posted by poohj80
Here's the info from the official DVC web site for those who can't login:
Walt Disney World Annual Pass Discount
Disney Vacation Club Members and their immediate family (living in the same household) are eligible to receive discounts on new and renewed 2005 Walt Disney World® Annual and Premium Annual Passes beginning January 2, 2005.
[...]
Passes can be purchased online by visiting dvcmember.com or at any Guest Relations location at all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks and the Downtown Disney area beginning January 2, 2005. Your Disney Vacation Club Member ID card must be provided and all adults must present a valid driver's license or state identification card showing they reside in the same household. Limit 8 purchases per household.
Actually, it is consistent with what I anticipated. There needs to be some boundaries, otherwise DVC members could start thier own business selling discount APs.Originally posted by DrTomorrow

Snip.......
Wow, I really hope this is a permanent perk and it doesn't last just this year.

I think it is only fair to keep it to immediate DVC members & family only.

In general I don't either however when they specify a group of people such as in laws, etc and draw a line between where they live, I think that is wrong and I bet it is changed in the next couple of months prior to the actual go live date. Here is the list to refresh our memories.Originally posted by Mary Anne
I have no problem with everyone having to live at the same addresses. It is right and more then fair.
I do wonder how I will feel about that in about 25 years when my now 16 year old has never left home because he doesn't want to lose the discount LOL![]()
Sounds like a good time to get some new state ID cards for a lot of people.Who is defined as "immediate family"?
"Immediate family" is defined by Walt Disney World Resort for discount purposes as noted below:
Spouse/Registered Domestic Partner
Parent/Step Parent
Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law
Child/Step Child
Brother, Sister/Step Brother, Sister
Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law
Grandparent
Grandchild
The DVC discount will apply for members of the immediate family. I asked if that meant those living at the address of record and was told it will include children, siblings, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, SIL, DIL, etc. . There will be a maximum of eight AP/PAP purchases allowed per year.
And $18 is 4 beers at Jellyroll's! I'll take it!!!
