Groups skipping through lines...

It's not the same, you being in a boat doesn't effect me, however you buying your way ahead of me in a line does. I am not OK with anybody cutting or buying their way ahead of me in a queue. To me either one will delay me.

Unfortunately it is not up to you or me.

So you are also opposed to fastpass plus?

Yes, it's one of the main reasons I sold our interests in DVC.

While FP and FP+ are implemented differently, both have been in effect in one way or another fo many years. People have had the ability to skip to the front of the line so to speak, for over 13 years. May I ask if you purchased your DVC unit before FP was in effect in the parks? Because neither version was ever offered for sale, but do impact people in a line.

That's certainly the most interesting reason I've ever seen for selling a DVC.

I would suggest that lugnut33 NEVER go to Universal, if paying for front of the line access bothers him/her that much.
FP+ took away value from my vacation dollars by segmenting guests (60 day & 30 day) and rationing attractions. I was not opposed to legacy FP because it was an equal opportunity guest enhancement. There were other reasons that went into selling our DVC contracts, but FP+ was definitely a big one.

I have not been to Universal except once back in the early 90's if I remember correctly.

Kind of off topic, but this thread reminded me of one of the funniest moments my husband and I had. About 10-15 years ago, we were walking on to Space Mountain. Probably FP, and it was a loooonnnnng walk going through the empty queue up to the fairly short line. This one single guy comes running up behind us, heaving and sighing and finally asking to move past us - we figured maybe he had someone he was meeting up with in front of us so we let him ahead of us. We do not walk
slowly. Eventually we catch up to him and no, it was very apparent that he was alone and just couldn't wait to just walk behind us. So we started to talk really loudly to each other, commenting on how SOME people just couldn't wait their turn, and how we hoped it was SO WORTH the effort to push by other people because they would be SO FAR ahead of the people they pushed by, and so on and so forth. He finally turned around and with a flourish gave a "go ahead" motion with his hand - so we did and moved in front of him! Too funny.

What about the people who are absolutely ON TOP of you because they are trying to maneuver themselves in front of you and each person they can sneak past? Has anyone experienced that? I absolutely block them and even spread my leg out so my foot is there to stop them but they cannot breathe down my neck.

The biggest annoyance I recently experience was in the waiting line for Kilimanjaro Safari. The standby line weave around outside and is only separated by ropes. People were actually ducking under the ropes and cutting across big sections of the line. It's amazing how rude people are now. No one in my family would ever cheat in such a way. It is almost as bad as when you stake out a place to watch a parade and some uncivilized trash try to push their way in front of you to flop their big butts down.

Yes! That has happened to us at Soarin more than once. One time a little boy was walking next to the railing by himself. The Dad came along and instead of bringing the boy back just looked at us and shrugged his shoulders. Also a woman that kept touching my rear with her bag so I would get annoyed and let her pass, I just changed places with my husband. We always try to leave a personal bubble around us....why folks like to get so close you can feel their breath on the back of your neck is strange...imo.

CM's won't address it, because they don't want to upset guests.

i don't think it's that they don't want to upset guests... i think it is more likely they don't want anuncomfortable confrontation with someone who has already shown themselves to be rude and inconsiderate of others.
i am sure for as many people who accept "i am sorry sir, you are going to have to go back to the start of the line-up" and graciously return to their spot, just as many are loud and belligerent to the CM because that is how they deal with things.

So you hire a private limo at MCO to take you to your resort and I take the Magical Express, because I cant afford it. You get to the Park/attraction queue first. Are you buying your way ahead of me?

The Fast Pass system was never designed or promoted as a way to cut or buy your way to the front. When you get a Fast Pass, you are put into a virtual line with a time to appear. This way you could experience other, less crowed attractions or to buy food and merchandise. While I have not been back to WDW since FP+ began, it seems to be the same idea except you begin standing in the virtual line 60 days out. However, Universal's FOTL access is a way to buy your way ahead of people.

Uuuuuuuuuuuh, yea passing someone in line, I don't care what you say is pushing through. You're splitting hairs.
Clearly, you have no idea what the word pushing means.1

Using your logic, if I walk around a family that is slowly walking in front of me, then I'm PUSHING.:sad2::sad2::crazy::crazy:

If someone tried to PUSH past me in line, I would give them an earful. If family members POLITELY try to walk by to join another family member, I would smile and step to the side.

A tour group, cheerleaders, dancers.....regardless of how polite, aren't getting by me.
