Not at all gross - the dish is going through the dishwasher. I won't let my dog do it, though. People food and dog food are not the same and there are a lot of overweight dogs who are shown how much they are loved by being fed things they shouldn't be.

Of course, last night dd2 and the dog were french kissing so.... :confused3

Yeah, that bothers me but I just try to ignore it because I know it's being cleaned in the dishwasher.

Plus I always think that we don't know where those dishes have been before someone purchases them anyway. Could have been sitting on some dock covered in mouse poo before they were packaged and sent a retail outlet.

@ Hercules10 well - my dogs are too!

As a matter of fact I started a website about a Doggie dishwashing Union celebrating their lifelong service. It's called the AUDD or Allegated Union Of Doggies dishwashers. :cool1:

A dog licking a dish or a bowl isn't much different than a person licking their plate and have you seen some of the people who have eaten off some plates in restaurants? I wouldn't let my dog eat off some of those plates :rotfl:

My daughter knows that it's her job to make sure all the dishes are clean before the dishwasher door gets closed. She does a good job.

Considering that I let dogs lick my ice cream cone [and then lick it after them] I don't find this gross at all..........odd I know......but quite frankly I'd rather share spit with any dog [mine or someone else] then share spit with a human other than DH.......but I'm weird like that:thumbsup2

Dog saliva is absolutely disgusting, so I voted extremely gross.

I do love dogs, but not their spit. :)

I wouldn't bat an eye.

In fact, my cat, Bob, is licking the lasagna bits off my plate as I write this. She also drinks any leftover milk in my cereal bowl. She's my number 1 dish licker!

It's a bit gross, but that's not my main reason for not letting our dogs lick our dishes. Dogs who do this often become over weight and they become beggars which I do find extremely annoying. If I'm eating at someone's house, I do not like a dog with his head in my lap or sitting next to me with begging eyes.

Our dogs only eat dog food -- not people food. That's always been our rule with pets and it really stops the begging. When our dogs see us setting food on the table, they automatically go in their crates because they know it's dinner time and the food isn't for them. If they see us with food, they pretty much stay away. Now, if someone sets a food item down and walks away for a moment, it's fair game.

I like your dog's outfit:rotfl:

No big deal.. I'd worry more about the conditions (and actions) in the kitchens of restaurants..;)
