Needless to say, THAT is gross...lol.

Nothing freaks me out more than when I see something floating in my drink. It doesn't matter what it is, if there is anything floating in it, I'm disposing of it and getting a new one.

We do let the dog lick our plates once in a while, but he has allergies so we're really cautious what we give him.

Hang on, how has it got to me not eating out or eating in hospitals now? I never said anything of the sort! :lmao:

I know what goes on behind the scenes in hospitals/restaurants. I've worked in them.

I've never used sanitizer either, nor do I intend do...as I said its one thing that grosses ME out.

Gee if a house pet licking the plate bothers you then you better not ever eat in a restaurant or especially not a hospital. after some of the disgusting things I've seen people leave on plates in public places a dog licking it is nothing.

I've worked in too many restaurants to be grossed out by a few animal tongues.

I let my cats drink the leftover milk from my cereal bowl. Grosses my Dfi out but not me.

It's only gross if the cat is eating out of the plates before we are done.
She thinks it is all for her and will jump up on the table and steal food when we aren't looking. We've even "gently" stabbed her paw with our forks and it still doesn't stop her LOL.

As soon as I start cleaning up after a meal the Dog is at my feet ready to shake.

I voted not gross at all.

We wash the dishes anyway. Also we saw an experiment in Mythbusters and the human mouth has zillons of times more germs than a dog.

I voted somewhat gross.
I'm a dog person, but I'd never let my dog do it. I usually shoo her out of the kitchen anytime I'm even in it, she knows better than to try to get at the dirty dishes in the dishwasher! She also knows that the crumbs and messes that DD makes on the floor are fair game though! :lmao:

But, as long as the dished are getting washed really well afterwards, I don't think it's all that bad if other people let their dogs do it. Just not something I'd do. :)

My dog use to stick is head in the dishwasher and lick the dishes if you left the door even a open a crack. LOL.

I just thought of something......

My 5 year old likes to sip out of my coke and my husband's coke. We were at the chinese restaurant the other day and I ordered spicy garlic broccoli (that the child was sharing)....you see where this is going.....:scared:

I was being a "sweet" Mommy and letting the little darling take swigs out of my coke as opposed to his milk....well....when Mommy went to get a swig, I saw little green balls floating in my coke!!:scared: :sad2: Needless to say, I got a new coke and no more "community sips"...Ick.

Needless to say, THAT is gross...lol.

The best thing about the kids growing up...no more floaties!!! I swear, my drinks always wound up being half solid! :scared1:

Not gross at all. We've done it for 15 years with our dog and we're still here.

:dogdance:

LOL ours does too. At least he's too big to get in it.
The cat OTOH might just meet her maker one day if I don't see her in the dishwasher before I shut the door and start the cycle. Luckily the dog is usually right there barking at her to get out.

Which sort of OT but I was unloading the dishwasher Wed. I was in a hurry and forgot the door of it was open. I turned around and bashed my shin on it good. Have a bruise and nice scrap right in the middle of my shin.

Our dog does lick the plates, then I rinse them in hot water, then into the dishwasher. I don't think it's gross.

Not gross at all. Except we don't let our dogs do it, as we monitor their intake very strict. Very rarely they get people food. Only lean protein that is not highly seasoned is what we share with them. Believe me, we can have major GI upsets in our pack, and it's easier to watch what comes in, than what comes out. ;)

Now we do wash the bowls in the dishwasher, use our spoons to mix their food. The cat sits on the counter and watches us prepare food. Oh yeah, all the dogs kiss our face. Yep-- we are very anti-germaphobe. :rotfl:

Extremely gross!! :crazy2:

I don't want anything that licks its BUTT to be putting their tongue on my dishes!! ICK!!!

A dog's mouth is (usually) cleaner than a human's, & if the dish is goiing to be washed ANYWAY, what's the diff?

That is actually a myth and not true which is why the dog licking the dishes before the wash cycle grosses him out.....but I let Jude do it anyway. ;)

We refer to our three dogs as our "three speed pre-wash". ;)

Our dishwasher sanitizes our dishes, so I really have no problem letting our dogs lick the dishes before they are washed.

I don't have dogs, but we have 2 cats and we let them drink the milk from our cereal bowls before we put them in the dishwasher. It doesn't bother me at all.

My MIL on the other hand would probably refuse to ever eat at my house again if she knew that. She has some serious germ issues and used to talk about her SIL letting the dogs lick the plates.
