DFi I "obsessed" with having a Grooms Cake.
He wants a sheet cake cut in the shape of the Sorcerer Hat covered in blue fondant and have yellow stars and a moon on it.
Our wedding cake is going to be a 3-tier white fondant cake with blue and yellow stars and moons. The top and bottom tier is going to be "cookie cut" stars and moons, the middle tier is going to be outlines. (I wanted a bunch of different Mickeys, but I'm afraid of the cost for that)
I'm not sure if we're going to save our top tier yet, and I'm just worried that a 3-tier cake + a sheet cake is going to be way too much cake for 30-40 people. He has made his argument of his cake would be orange with some sort of fruit filling. The wedding cake hasn't been fully decided yet, but 1 layer will be marble cake.
I'm thinking of seeing if we can have his cake at the rehearsal dinner. Is this really odd or uncommon?
