I'm sure this has been addressed before - but we are new (or about to be) to DVC (haven't closed but have passed ROFR on contracts for VWF). I see discussions on "cooking". We would be flying in (no rental car). How do you go about getting food to cook for your villa? I know there are small stores on WDW property - are there any other options? :earsboy: :earsgirl:

yes, instead of using mears bus to take to your resort - go the towncar way - they will do a grocery stop.

you can also order on the internet - I haven't done this but others have.

I have done the grocery order through DVC - it is too expensive - you can go to their gift store at VWL and get basically the same items for less cost.

We are sold on www.wegoshop.com

The fee is reasonable, and they deliver to your resort. They go to any store you wish, and will deliver at whatever time you wish.

It is so nice to not have to waste vacation time at the store, in my opinion :)

We went the towncar route - It was great! When I booked the towncar I asked for the complimentary grocery stop to be at publix. The driver pulled up to publix, we had 20min. to shop, and then our driver loaded our groceries into the towncar. Publix had good prices too.:wave2:

When you get to your resort, ask them to put your groceries in the fridge. After you check in and before you head out for the day (if your room's not ready) ask to get something out of your bag. We did this by mistake and found out that they didn't put our groceries in the fridge:rolleyes: I'm glad we had to get into our stuff after only 10min. , if not the food would have sat in the back room for hours until our room was ready.

thanks for the suggestions! How do you go about getting a towncar?

here is the towncar service that surports this site

http://www.fltours.com/index.htm

there are several others

I though the following also had websites but I couldn't find them

YAHOO! YELLOW PAGES towncar listings near Orlando FL (View All Shortcuts)
Prestige Towncar (407) 351-5212 2627 Brim Ct, Orlando, FL 32839
United Towncar Svc Inc (407) 810-8387 6703 Imperial Oak Ln, Orlando, FL 32819
Tiffany Towncar Svc-Orlando (407) 370-2196 7041 Grand National Dr # 105c, Orlando, FL 32819

We use Tiffany on all our trips, they're very reliable and, if you have a Passporter book, there's a coupon in it for (I think) $5 off a round trip. They also do a 1/2 hour grocery store stop if you ask (tell them when you make the reservation)
