We usually head to Winn Dixie the first day of our trip but I'm considering doing grocery delivery instead. Anyone have experience with this? What are the pros/cons?
Thanks!

I have used both gardengrocer.com and wegoshop.com in the past with good results. Both charge a delivery fee and you can tip if desired. My orders have been correct and delivered in a timely fashion. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Goofy4tink, Can you purchase beer at either?

Garden Grocer will bring you beer, but you cannot add it via their online tool, except in the comments section, so it will be added after the fact. They do it as a courtesy, so you have to hit their minimum first.

Thank You!!!!

We've used Garden Grocers before too. We have our order placed for our upcoming stay (11/4-11/11)

Beer, Coconut Rum (pineapply juice and cranberry juice) - gotta love those rum drinks!!!

Yes, they're included in our Garden Grocer order.

We have used wegoshop 6 times and I highly recommend them. Our order has always been correct and delivered on time. They do not have a minimum order amount and the cost of their service is the actual cost of the groceries plus a delivery fee. Their delivery fee is a little higher, but I believe the cost of the items themselves is lower. Either way we have saved a lot over the cost of shopping in the Disney stores.
You compile your own list rather than shopping an electronic store. We have always ordered beer and wine,m with no problem.
Have a Great Trip

We have used GG in the past. The food price was marked up and we had some other issues. Some of the delivered items were incorrect or missing. It took 3 days to get corrected.

Now we rent a car for a day, eat off site for dinner, and do all of our shopping, Publix, WalMart, and the Disney Outlet.

I love wegoshop. They give you a receipt for the groceries plus charge a delivery fee. I e-mail a list of what I want, even what brand I want. I have had Marge call me from the store to make sure she bought what I wanted.

How far in advance do you have to place your order? We arrive on Thursday evening and are using ME instead of renting a car this time. I'm wondering if it's too late to use this service?

If the service has delivery slots available you can still use it. You will pick a two hour window from what is available and they will deliver within those two hours. If you are paying with a credit card then garden grocer will leave the groceries with bell services if you are not at the resort , I am not sure if we go shop does that as I never used them.
to see if they have available slots go to either www.gardengrocer.com or www.wegoshop.com.

Yes, this is the main reason to get your order in well in advance at Garden Grocer -- that's the only one we've used. We've never had to be there when it was delivered -- actually we schedule the delivery for before we arrive so that we can pick it up when we check in (Bell Services will keep the cold foods in their fridge).

The only real disadvantage is that you have to be there if you're having alcoholic items delivered.

I have bookmarked the websites for grocery delivery and understand that you have to be present to sign if you order beer or wine. Our flight doesn't arrive until 7PM so I was hoping to have everything delivered so it would be there when we arrive. If we do this is there anyplace close to BWV where we could purchase wine and beer?

There is a Hess gas station/minimart within walking distance of BWV (1/4 mile?). They have beer and, apparently, a small selection of wine which I did not notice on our last trip. We walked from BCV which was a little bit further, but well worth it since we did not have a car, and Disney's beer is $30 a six-pack.:scared1: They used to give a discount on six packs, but alas, no longer.

I can't believe it $30 a six pack! I guess what I'll do is hope our flight is on time because Marge will deliver until 9PM.

YES! Disney charges $5 per beer!!:scared: We used Garden Grocer in August for our food / beer delivery. They charged $23 something for a CASE of Miller Lite cans. More than at home but a LOT LESS than Disney.

I chose GG over WeGo because I knew we would not be around to receive the order & that I wanted to have it left with Bell Services. WeGo prefers that you pay in cash so that little option was out for us. They will take a credit card, but they add an additional 13% fee onto the order for doing that! I thought that % was a bit excessive. GG does not charge this fee to use a cc so that worked out better for me. Our order was fine. Everything was there, no problems.

BWV's little secret! ;)

I ordered beer and didn't need to be present - the beginning of November, but I had used gardengrocer on previous trips. Also worth noting, when you add the beer or wine to the comments section - you need to call and pay for it, if you want it left.

About a 1/2 mile from BWV is a Hess Station. I know they have beer. We have done this before - before gardengrocer that is. LOL

Call and ask gardengrocer - I have never been there for a delivery and have never had a problem.

Does VWL have a little secret like that too? We will be there for a week in a 1 bd, so figured we would just go down to the lounge for drinks, but if he can get cheap(er) beer somewhere, that may be a better option.
