Just wanted to post a quick review of our experience at Be Our Guest. We were a party of 10, celebrating my son's 11th birthday there. We are frequent Disney visitors, passholders, and have tried just about every darn restaurant at Walt Disney World. I was so excited to snag a Saturday night reservation (months and months ago) for our group, and all of us couldn't wait to try it. I really can't fully explain it, but the whole thing felt very magical to us. The front doors of the restaurant are closed, and when they opened them to seat us, it was so special to enter the restaurant - it just about gave me goosebumps!

We sat in the ballroom, which was so pretty. Couldn't resist going into the West Wing to take a peek (which many patrons were doing). Wow, the West Wing was neat, with the rose under the glass - so well themed! The Beast came out to greet guests, and at the end of the meal, we visited the Beast in his study. When some of our group were asking why Belle wasn't there, my 4 year old niece said the cutest thing ..... "She is busy telling stories to all the kids." - referring to the Belle's story attraction next door. We thought this was so cute of her to say, and actually maybe that's really why Belle doesn't appear in this restaurant!

As far as the food, I ordered the pork, and it was delicious, especially with the red wine sauce. A few of us had the steak, which was very good. I also heard positive things about the shrimp and scallop entree. We ordered both the French Onion and Potato Leek soups - great! I think dessert is a must. I love the cart they bring around. I actually do understand some criticism others have made about wanting more elaborate desserts, such as creme brûlée. I would agree with that. I will say, though, that all of the cupcakes were delicious. I can vouch for the strawberry cream cheese cupcake, the lemon one, and the triple chocolate.

All in all, we had a really fun evening there. My son did get the "Grey Stuff" for his birthday, and it was, in fact, delicious. Really cute touch there! I think at the prices we pay, though, maybe they can bring out a few "Grey Stuffs" to every table at the end of the meal, regardless of whether it's a celebration, because I think it's so cute. It's a small amount of Grey Stuff anyway, so why not just do that? Well, maybe they don't because people will just count on it as being their dessert and not order from the cart. Who knows? Anyway, the Grey Stuff was a cute and special thing.

I think everyone should try this restaurant at least once if they can! Fun time for us, but being Disney regulars we do keep our expectations in check. (Meaning we are expecting high prices and maybe ok food in the theme parks). It actually really surpassed our expectations. Had a total blast, and I remember turning to my husband and saying, "What a fun way to spend a Saturday night!"

What a fantastic review, thank you for posting this!!! We're leaving in 10 days to celebrate my DH's birthday, and I know he's hoping for "some gray stuff" too! (and yes, he's a grownup!!) I have to admit, that's the reservation I'm most excited for.... it's going to be so fun to eat in Beast's Castle and then actually see him!!! :yay: It's so great to hear that the food was good....I'm still not sure what to get and this doesn't help!! But I do know there's a cupcake in my future!

I'm so glad your son had a great birthday....and BTW, your neice was VERY clever to think of the reason Belle isn't there....she's pretty darn smart!!

What a great review. :thumbsup2 It mirrors our experience a couple of months ago. There is something a bit magical when they open those doors, isn't there? :) My son and I celebrated his 11th birthday there, too! He got the "Grey Stuff" and luckily he shared it with me. ;)

We're looking forward to our August trip when my husband will be able to join us. We'll be celebrating our 15th anniversary -- I guess that means we'll get the "Grey Stuff". :cool1:

Nice review!! So glad you had a great time! I agree it's a great way to spend a Saturday night....or ANY night for that matter! Great food and really wonderful service! And what a cool thing to do for your DS's birthday!

Just curious, how long did it take for your party of ten to be seated and where did they seat you? I'm worried that our 6:15 reservation for 11 of us (DS turns four that day!) will take too long and we will miss a good chunk of MNSSHP which starts at 7!

Hi there - our reservation time was actually 9:10. We arrived a few minutes before 9:00 and were seated early. This probably has a lot to do with the later reservation time. We also never, ever, felt rushed in the restaurant, again likely because of the later seating. We treated it more as a leisurely meal, but I can see your dilemma with the MNSSHP. Hmmm....my advice would be to get there as early as possible for the party (I think you can be in the park before the party actually starts, and just obtain a wristband at party time) and stay until closing to maximize the party time and still enjoy your dinner reservation. This is a tough one!

Great review. Happy to hear everyone had a great experience.
Looking forward to our dinner there on the 31st.
Maybe I'll be able to get some of "The Grey Stuff" to celebrate my birthday dinner there.

Glad to hear the good review! We'll be there for the first time in September, the scallops sound the best to me. I know my husband will want the steak. My daughter is super excited to go (she's watching Beauty and the Beast right now).

Hope we get the Grey Stuff too! We'll be celebrating a birthday.

I wish I could say the same about my experience. We celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday there last Monday night and I can't tell you how disappointed we were with our server. She was rude and unfriendly. We had even ordered a special cake which she brought out. Never offered us coffee and no grey stuff.
