My family & I are DVC members, our home resort is Beach club Villas. Usually we rent a 1 bedroom villa since there are only 4 of us. (2 kids). Next year we have invited my in-laws and some cousins, now the total is 9- 5 adults and 4 kids. Which of the DVC resorts have 3 bedroom villas? Which one do you think are better? We are planning a trip for 9nights/10 days. Can I use my points for some of the days and than pay cash for the rest? :confused3
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

At WDW OKW, BWV and SRS have 3br villas. OKW has the lowest point rate. All are outstanding.

If you need to get the GV at a busy time of the year, you may need to do a trade with a member at one of the resorts that have the GV in order to get them. OKW has the most, next SSR. BWV only has 6 if I recall correctly.

Also, if it is the busy time of the year, you might not be able to get them at the member discount. It's a pretty tidy sum, too. You could probably buy a few more points at the price for cash nights.

You could always go with one two bedroom and one studio or one bedroom if you can't get the GV.

We were in the same situation for our family reunion next year. We opted for 4 nights at the BW Grand villa, then 2 - 2 bedrooms and 2 studios for 5 nights at the VWL. The Grand villa takes MANY points, but we just had to stay there at least once... everyone on these boards say its well worth the points... once in a life time!

We have stayed in the OKW GVs several times and have viewed the other GVs. While they are all spacious and ver nice, we prefer the OKW GVs because of the extra space in them, and because of the reasonable point costs. OKW has 27 GVs while BWV has only 7. I don't know how many GVs are currently available at SSR.

However, don't give up if you'd like the BWV Grand Villa. Like you,our next trip will be with several additional family members (total of 9), so we decided to try to spend a few days in a Grand Villa (instead of the two 2bdrm units at BCV, our home resort, where we'll spend the rest of our vacation).

Anyway, I couldn't really decide between BWV, SSR, or OKW (which was very appealing due to points and size). But I called at the 7mo window, and though there are comparatively many OKW Grand Villas, none were available. But we WERE able to get into a BWV unit! And that's for 2/22-2/24. Though that's right before spring break really "hits", it's still a fairly busy time. So with proper timing, and maybe a little luck, you can still get in there - even if there ARE only 6 units! :goodvibes
