Hi everyone! :wave2:

I'm staying at the Grand Floridian and trying to figure out what building to request. I have just booked a standard garden view room and I'm trying to work out whats sort of view that would give me. I know that some garden view rooms have a partial view of the lagoon etc...

I would be very grateful if people could upload pictures of their views from previous stays stating what building they were in to help me make a decision.

Thank you! :goodvibes

I just posted up this picture in the GF thread of our balcony view last week. We were standard garden view in Big Pine Key, and it was wonderful.

I don't have any pics, but two of my favorites for standard/GV are Big Pine Key and Boca Chica. Both overlook the courtyard pool and while BPK is slightly closer to the main building and beach pool, BC is just a few extra steps. As far as views, BPK does have a few less desirable views as some rooms overlook the back of the pool house, but they aren't really that bad, IMO. If you wanted to avoid that possibility, BC would be a great choice (IMO). Sago and Conch are over by the marina, which some have reported are a little quieter than the other buildings as they are somewhat away from the pools/main areas. With all of that said, I don't think there are any bad views at the GF. Have a great trip :wizard:.

Thank you! I do quite like the location of BC but just wasn't sure how good it actually was.

Can I ask what building you were in?
a
We were in Big Pine Key. We did face the pool building, but it didn't deter from our view... Worst view I ever had was last year at BC... we had a roof...
This was the view when lying on the bed.

I agree with everything Mickeynut! said!

Our favourite SV in the GF have been from BPK, but the views from BC are equally nice if you face the pool. We have never had any problem with noise from the pool.
We had a nice view from the side of BC that overlooked the walkway to the boat dock. It was nice, just not as nice as the BPK views that we have had. There are a few at BPK, as Mickeynut1 said, that overlook the pool house that are not great.

The worst SV that we had was in Sago Key. We were close to a loading area and the noise from early morning trucks would wake us up at around 5:00 am everyday. The view of the monorail was nice enough, though.

even the worst SV at the GF is nicer than many SV at other resorts.

Enjoy your stay at the GF!!! It is an absolutely awesome resort! We love staying there!

image.jpeg image.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpeg In August I was on the fifth floor of Conch key at grand, and I enjoyed our view it wasn't anything special but it looked out on the water and we could see where the electrical water pageant floats were stored. We could also see wishes from our balcony and we could see big thunder mountain and the monora from the balcony.

If you're still interested, I have some pictures from the CL room I stayed in AND a "cheap" room. I can send them along when I get home tonight (they are all on my laptop -- and if I can figure out how to attach images to this site).

That would be great! Thank you! :)

I loved my view from Sago Key - it looked over a bit of water & beyond that was the monorail track & I could watch the monorails go by.
I was on the side facing opposite of Gasparillas midway down the building 3rd or 4th floor.
Very convenient to the lobby & the patio in front of Gasparillas is a nice place to watch Wishes (or whatever the new fireworks are titled.)

Thank you. I assume this was a standard view?
