Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Being extremely OCD, I have to do the parks in the order that they opened.

Maybe one of my trip resolutions could be to take more photos while we are at the Magic Kingdom?

I have no pictures from the Magic Kingdom when Charles and I went in 1995, nor do I have any from 1998 when we took Chelsea for the first time. How sad is that???

The sheer joy on my children’s faces is just breathtaking to me.

Any time I ever write out our plans, I always do the parks in order, too. It would feel strange to do them any other way.

More pictures of Magic Kingdom, definitely! ::yes::

No pictures of Chelsea's first trip? That has traumatized me for life!
When you get to heaven, that should be your first request - to relive that trip!

Seeing the joy on your kids' faces will never change, either. When I watch my grown kids laugh and relax and enjoy each others' company in Disney World, I feel as great as I think I know how to feel.

That first castle picture was great - a very unique shot. :thumbsup2

The pictures of the kids with their cousins and the characters are so precious! :goodvibes

Hey Jackie! :wave2:

Love all of your pics! So much fun!
And I am like you, I like to do the parks in a specific order too! I will deviate IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. But the first park always has to be MK. I just have to have that glimpse of the castle for the trip to really start!

I am dying at the second picture, with the guy wearing that fantastic outfit with the short shorts and fanny pack. :lmao: I grew up in the 90's and had some pretty unique outfits and hairstyles at the time, but I'm glad that I was too young to really note or remember the shortness of men's shorts. My dad was really only guilty of shorts worn with knee-high socks.

I had to go back and check when you guys went to the Pirate and Princess Party, because we went in April, too, but later in the month.

I LOVE the picture of Chip and Chelsea! I love all the other ones, too, but especially that one. :goodvibes

You're not the only one. Any time I do a spreadsheet or write out the parks I have to put them in that order.

Awww Jackie what a cute little MK review! Thats such agood idea to do one park a week like that, so smart! Thats a good picture of the castle too, especially since I'm assuming it was taken with a 35mm camera. I really am just lovinggggg that guys mullet and hot outfit! :rotfl2:

I am now all caught up. Your kids are super cute! I really like your old pics from magic Kingdom and can't wait for the rest of the parks.

Love the flashback pictures! I just love taking a stroll down memory lane. What a great idea to do a park a month. :thumbsup2

I enjoyed seeing your pictures! I love your idea of one park a month! It will help the weeks count down faster!

Thanks! I thought it might make it go by faster, too!

Jackie, you have two of the cutest kids EVER. Every time I see a picture of them, it just brings a smile to my face. They are so creative with some of their poses! :rotfl:

Thank you so much! They are so much fun to take anywhere because they always have such a good time. They are my little travelers.

Awww...Jackie loved the update and the pictures through time!! Yes make a promise to yourself that this time you will take photos at Magic Kingdom!!!

Great update can't wait to read more!!

More pictures from Magic Kingdom are a must. It seems like I always manage a few castle and carrousel shots, but I don't even have any pictures taken in Frontierland or Liberty Square! Shocking!

The kids have gotten so big... it is neat to see how they change from trip to trip. Thanks for the great review!

I was amazed looking at the pictures how much they have changed in just five years -- it isn't so obvious day to day.

Love the pictures---and REALLY love the idea of your monthly themes!!! I look forward to seeing more soon!!! My how the kids have grown!

Thanks! They are growing too fast for my taste. :rotfl:

I just love seeing pictures of your kids! And the progression is so nice. It's really great to see how much you've all enjoyed Disney through the years, so I'm looking forward to your next updates to see all the other parks, too! :goodvibes

Thanks! You can tell we have been Disney Junkies from the get-go. No wonder we keep going back! ;)

Nice flashback! It's sweet and sad to see how much the kids have grown. Sad in the bittersweet way not the bad way.

I agree -- can you imagine what they will look like in another five years! Chelsea will be 16 and Connor 14! And I will probably still be taking photos of them on the carrousel!

We will be at WDW June 8 - 16, staying at POP Century. My DD(8) has read your pre-trippie with me and just said "Maybe we will see them there!" :wave2: ....I think that she is going to be on the lookout for your familly the whole time. We are addicted to your pre-trippie!!

We are as excited as you are, and I definitely need to make a binder! :lmao: I better get working on the cover!

Looking forward to more updates!

Trish

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: I love that you and DD are addicted to our pre-trippie! I am hoping the next four months fly by and it gets warmer soon -- I am so ready for warm weather! I hope we run into you at Disney, too! That would be so cool! I have never actually had a DIS meet!

It just seems right to do it in that progression: MK, Epcot, MGM, and AK.

I did take lots of Chelsea and her little 9-month-old self at MGM and Epcot (Animal Kingdom was a week away from opening), so there is some proof that she was on that trip. :rotfl:

Disney World and the joy of my children: I agree -- it makes me feel like I am experiencing a little bit of heaven! :goodvibes

First set of replies are on the previous page!

That first castle picture was great - a very unique shot. :thumbsup2

The pictures of the kids with their cousins and the characters are so precious! :goodvibes

Thanks! They all had such a great time together I wish I could convince my SIL to go back. I think they are a once-in-a-lifetime Disney goers though. :sad2:

Thanks! We don't always end up at MK first (although this year it will be our first park), but I always have to plan it first.

Isn't that hysterical??? When I was going through photos, I saw that and thought, "What was that man thinking???" You can't really tell in the scanned photo, but he is also wearing two different prints on his shorts and shirts! Add in that fanny pack and he is Disney Stylin'! :lmao:

I love that picture of Chip and Chelsea, too! We did a grand gathering breakfast at Tony's and the characters were awesome. At one point, Chip took Chelsea's coat and was trying to put it on. :rotfl:

You're not the only one. Any time I do a spreadsheet or write out the parks I have to put them in that order.

We are comrades-in-arms when it comes to our OCD, Heidi! :goodvibes

Jackie...what a great idea for the next 4 months! I love all the old pictures!!:goodvibes

Thanks! I wanted to share a lot of our older pictures and thought that would be the best way to do it.

Thank you! I don't remember what kind of camera it was, but I am sure it must have been a 35mm. I am so glad the fashions have changed! ;)

I am now all caught up. Your kids are super cute! I really like your old pics from magic Kingdom and can't wait for the rest of the parks.

Jill's here! Jill's here! :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: Glad you are all caught up and thanks for the compliments on my kids! One day I hope we end up at the parks at the same time!

Love the flashback pictures! I just love taking a stroll down memory lane. What a great idea to do a park a month. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I love, love, love looking at old pictures and scrapbooks, so I figured I would subject everyone else to them, too. :rotfl: When I was going through all the early 90's stuff, I was shocked at how cheap everything was back then. $4.00 for parking for a start!

Hi, I just found your PTR from another posting and just wanted to say I work in HS in MD. Nothing like HS Musical 1,2, OR 3, I might add :rotfl2:
Anyhoo, enjoyed reading all of your observations and planning, and of course delighted to see how many teachers/educators write these things! I think it must come with the territory! :) We are going in June as well. Right after school gets out. We have B-days the week we are there. I will enjoy the count down with you, and the ADR-dash! :hyper:

:welcome: What subject do you teach? My students adore the HS Musicals -- I bet they can recite them verbatim!

There are a lot of teachers on the DIS boards! Are you thinking of doing a PTR? You totally should! How fun to have birthdays while you are there -- it is such a great year for that! I am so impatient for March so I can make my ADRs!

Hi! Well, I must confess, I am not a teacher. I am one of those "admin types" :mic: BUT, my husband is a teacher, English and Theater, so he cancels me out! :upsidedow No to the PTR, not this time, I would rather just watch the pros do it! :goodvibes Yes, we are excited for the B-days. We leave the day school gets out, didn't want to take everyone out of school, including the adults! :lmao: It is a surprise for them. I have not come up with the plan to let them know yet. One little surprise I did was to get a reservation for CRT on my DH's B-day. I thought that would be too funny. He finds my recent Disney fixation "amusing"
Have a great week! We might have more weather this coming week, we'll see. We only had 1.5 days of school last week, it was perfect :thumbsup2

Love your MK flashback. One park a month is a great idea! That will make the time fly by. And provide me with months of weekend updates! Yippee!!

I can smell the Main Street smells. And now I'm hungry!!

That guy with the Hawaiian shirt and shorts has quite an ensemble. Wow! :rotfl:

Chelsea and Connor are just adorable in every picture. They do look especially giddy in the pictures with their cousins. That must have been a magical trip. :goodvibes

I got all caught up using your handy links from the first post - thank you!

I think your ADR plans look really great - I know for me, I would switch the Cape May breakfast to the last day so we didn't have to rush out of our resort to a park, but could have a more relaxed morning. But then again-that means you might not get to a park that day. Hmmm...:scratchin

I hope you got your camera questions answered (I didn't read through any commentary back and forth due to time), I much prefer recharageables for my cameras, some cameras SUCK through batteries, so rechargeables are much much more cost effective.

I laughed out loud at the Facebook conversation you had with your friend! How fun that you now get to plan TWO trips!!!!!

Also, I like your idea about the parks with your updates - your MK pics are great, it's really fun to see the kids grow up through the years. I know what you mean about being overwhelmed at MK - there is SO much going on, it is hard to even capture the essence of it all.

I took quite a few pics at the Beach Club with you in mind, as well as the one particular pic I mentioned on my TR. The Beach Club is stunning!

Thanks...I have all those handy guidebooks as well as the Birnbaum's Children. It is our 1st trip and I didn't want to miss a thing. I love the dining guide. Our Ta actually sent us the pocket guide at Christmas. That will be a nice one to bring along. I just told my DH I am not the only one:grouphug:

Hey the photo with the man in the shorts just about made me fall off my chair laughing! :lmao:

Hey, don't knock yourself short -- the admin. types are what keeps the school running! Surprises are so much fun, but I can never keep a secret for any length of time.

Love your MK flashback. One park a month is a great idea! That will make the time fly by. And provide me with months of weekend updates! Yippee!!

Four months worth of weekend updates with some bonus updates thrown in (like tonight there will be one).

It was a magical trip except that we went from sunup until sundown -- by the end of those five days, I wanted to go home very badly. Commando park touring is so not my style.

I got all caught up using your handy links from the first post - thank you!

You are welcome. ;)

Well, due to something, I am changing around the majority of my ADRs.

I hope you got your camera questions answered (I didn't read through any commentary back and forth due to time), I much prefer recharageables for my cameras, some cameras SUCK through batteries, so rechargeables are much much more cost effective.

I did -- thanks for throwing in an extra vote for rechargeables!

I laughed out loud at the Facebook conversation you had with your friend! How fun that you now get to plan TWO trips!!!!!

Yes, we have been working away on that -- I think they have decided on AllStar Music (FIL decided a monorail hotel for six people was a tad more expensive than he thought).

Also, I like your idea about the parks with your updates - your MK pics are great, it's really fun to see the kids grow up through the years. I know what you mean about being overwhelmed at MK - there is SO much going on, it is hard to even capture the essence of it all.

And I just end up putting the camera away and soaking it all in!

I took quite a few pics at the Beach Club with you in mind, as well as the one particular pic I mentioned on my TR. The Beach Club is stunning!

I shall definitely enjoy seeing them, but...

There are lots of us! :rotfl2:

I love guidebooks -- I just ordered another one a couple of days ago.

Hey the photo with the man in the shorts just about made me fall off my chair laughing! :lmao:

I keep thinking, "Please don't let short shorts for guys come back in style." :rotfl:
