Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Hi, Lori!!! How are you??? I have missed you! I am so glad you found my PTR. Are you still going on a cruise? I definitely think you should start a PTR!
Hey, sorry i haven't answered lately....no, we had to cancel the cruise. We escaped to WDW for Gustav(just for 2 or 3 nights and 1 day at MK, 1 day at TL) and needed the $$$ to pay for it. Thankfully, our insurance paid for some of it, but by then we found out DH was getting laid off, so we didn't reschedule it. It'll be okay though, we are not worried...yet. He is actively job searching and we are enjoying him home for now! Should he attain a job soon, plus also taking in a nice severens package(come Feb) and we can pay off a lot of stuff PLUS be able to go back to WDW. Hoping for free dining in September, pending a job...... . BUT I am not planning anything until we know for sure and I guess it will just be a shorter notice trip-but , from past experience, those can be FUN! Did it all in 1 month for DL for DH and I a couple years back.

Praying and hoping for a debt paid, better job for hubby, WDW filled, 2009!

Lori

Okay, I am caught up now!! I am also going to amazon to get me some new disney reading material!! lol!!
Your new baby is a cutie!!!

All I have to say is "Beware cute puppies in the parking lot of Walmart!" :rotfl:

You know if I had parked on a different aisle, I never would have seen her...

:rotfl2: Not playing about that summer thang. :lmao:
We stayed at Pop once before. Plus it's cheap for a quick wknd. Loves it!

That is just totally wicked. :rotfl: I hate you!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

You have stayed at the Grand Flo though and I have yet to do that...

I still really want to stay at AKL...

I'll pray for you guys! I am sure DH will find something! Make sure you keep me posted on that!

How are your girls? I thought about y'all when Gustav roared through -- glad you were able to escape to WDW, but you still must have been stressed and worried.

I was thinking about a resort restaurant. Give me some ideas. Remember we will have Madi with us! ;)

Hmmm...let's see -- what about Citrico's or Grand Floridian Cafe? Or Jiko's? Heavens, I want to eat at Jiko's so bad -- everytime I see photos from there I start drooling...anyway...;)...there's also Spoodles and Flying Fish over at the Boardwalk...or Cali Grill at the Contemporary. I think you will find most of those places kid -friendly.

I am the same EXACT way with trip planners.. guidebooks.. whatever.. every year I have to buy new ones.. even though a lot of the information is the same.. I figure 1. it gets me excited, 2. it reminds me of things I forgot about and 3. its not like they go to waste.. I read them all-highlight and everything! hehe :thumbsup2

Oh and I officially think I'm all caught up.. we will see once I browse the pages.. but yay.. it took me forever.. :lmao:

Ohhh and one more thing.. I'm pretty sure we are going around the same time! Your countdown says 5 months.. I'm also going in June 2009. I've never been during this month- usually we go during Jan. because we like less crowds and the weather is never to hot. Now don't get me wrong, I love hot weather.. but I read somewhere that you said- you guys go the same time every year- so you must have a lot of experience during this time. How is it crowd wise and so forth? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thank you! It was like it was meant to be when our eyes met -- that or I am a big sucker for puppy eyes.

My camera has video so I am going to try that feature out and see if I can get Nala playing tug of war with Bella and hopping through the grass like a rabbit -- it's the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Oh, I would love to see some video!!

Your reasons are spot-on! Plus, I discovered another benefit last night -- a co-worker is going to Disney for her honeymoon and wants help/advice. I plan on taking her some of my 2007 guidebooks (not much has changed) for her to enjoy. So, I get to be helpful and still have all my current guidebooks.

OMgooodnesss sooo cute! I want to squeeze her! hehe :lovestruc

She is very cuddly when she isn't trying to eat my hair.

Hurray for being caught up!

We are going June 6 -- 13 -- will our dates overlap? We do go the same time every year -- so far it has really worked out for us. We find we can avoid most of the crowds if we do a couple of things:

Get going first thing in the morning.
Go to one of the parks that isn't hosting any Extra Magic Hours.

We tend to also take a mid-day break to go to the pool and get out of the heat for a little bit, then we head back to the parks for dinner, rides, and nighttime shows.

Oh, I would love to see some video!!

I tried a couple last night -- it ended up mostly being Nala nipping at my shoes -- not terribly exciting.

Jackie, I am just getting caught up! Nala is BEYOND adorable!!:lovestruc As a matter of fact Matthew walked in while i was looking at the pics. and he said "awww, whose puppy is that?" That poor child has been asking for a dog forever and I haven't caved yet! I love the picture of Chelsea with Connor's nightvision goggles on, too cute!:goodvibes

Ok first off, We are "planning" on going from June 3rd-10th I think... We keep changing our minds.. and changing days.. I guess it all depends on DH work schedule. But we are for sure going during those 2 weeks. hehe :thumbsup2 I'm glad to see that you travel there that time every year.. because I've always heard so many good things during value season and not soo good during the busy crowds. I don't mind waiting so much in line.. I don't like waiting more than an hour- but its going to be hard because we are use to barely waiting at all. I guess we are going to have to narrow our goal of things to do. We always arrive early- when the rope drops, unless were really tired, and we did take advantage of the extra magic hours a few times but we didn't choose to stay at the park the whole day. But reading your planning and previous trip.. doesn't make me worry about so much. Besides the weather.. I think we will be ok.

Secondly, I have helped many people booking trips or planning. But I noticed that I tend to go on like a 10 minute long rampage when they ask.. hehe that they are probably overwhelmed.. hehe Also, being a student still- I've used my knowledge for speeches for many different courses! Last semester, I did a speech on it and a the end I said if anyone would like any help- I would love to. And a fellow student came up and got information from me.. and it was great! I felt soo smart! So.. I guess it pays to know alot Disney afterall.. :lmao:

How are your girls? I thought about y'all when Gustav roared through -- glad you were able to escape to WDW, but you still must have been stressed and worried.

They are great thank you! We had more damage for Gustav than for Katrina-go figure. Everything was gone(trees, fences, rooves) around us for Katrina, our home was fine. For Gustav, the trees were pruned well and we had rood damage, but it was all okay-over the garage thank God.
No, we were not too stressed, we had all that means anything to us WITH us. I guess having a cancer survivor for a kid puts things in perspective-we could lose everything we own and we'd get through okay as long as our family is safe and healthy. 'Course,we 'd be upset about a few things and we'd be homeless, but big deal, we have each other and all the rest will fall into place. We went to Tallahassee for 3 nights at first, then found out we had no electricity(no potty, no water) for a week or more, so DH and I agreed to suprise the kids and head down to WDW. We stayed at ASmovies(home for us, we did not enjoy Pop that much last trip) and it was just as nice as we had remembered from our other trips. So we are now convinced that is our favorite resort. With AS sports. We stayed 2 or 3 nights, and got to enjoy TL with the kids for the 1st time! Me and the girls went to MK the next day while DH worked from the room. He said someone had to pay the bills! Don't have to say it 2x, we were there at rope drop-a 1st for us! We had to be back for 5pm, so we'd ahve time to get the dogs(boarded at EPCOT kennels!) and head back to Tallahassee for 1 night-then home. It was quicka nd FUN.

Anyway, Nala is adorable! Gotta love a puppy. Snickers just turned 1 and is finally slackin off on chewing my house up. He is kennel trained at night, BUT DH is letting him sleep with Haley(who is in heaven about this). he is doing fine- no lost stuffed animals so far. We aso have a 3 year old, Hershey. They are both doxies.

Sorry so long-enjoying your TR, as usual!

Lori

Holy Cow! I'm all caught up! I didn't realize I was behind... I am blaming the holidays! Nala is adorable! Puppy love is contagious... and God made them cute for a reason... enjoy her -

It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday... I love your elf tradition... I wish I had the energy!

You guys need to take an unplanned mini-trip like you did last year. You know, to break things up. ;) Make it happen, CP

When's your spring break? :rolleyes1 I must be in an enabling mood....

Well, I probably would have done the same thing!!! Whenever I see a free puppy or kitten sign, I go somewhere else!:lmao:

I usually do, but for some reason I felt the need to stop and chat that morning. Silly me.

Hi, Diane! Thanks for the compliments on Nala and Chelsea -- they are both my goofy girls. :rotfl:

We usually have really good luck with waiting times -- I have no patience when it comes to standing, so we fastpass everything that we can. I think the longest we had to wait one time was 40 minutes at BTMRR and that was right after we ate dinner one evening a couple of years ago. The rest we hardly ever have to wait. I can't think of a time last year that we had to wait long for anything...well, TSM first thing in the morning, but that was to be expected.

Secondly, I have helped many people booking trips or planning. That is a great story about the speech! Just goes to show that knowing stuff about Disney does have real world relevance. ;)

It does sound like fun! You are right -- anything material can be replaced -- that's so true!

Thank you! We have a crate for Nala, but she usually just sleeps out with the other dogs at night -- she and our older lab, Bella, have become great pals. I am not looking forward to the teething/chewing phases.

The holidays have been crazy this year, haven't they?

Thanks for the compliments on Nala -- right now she and Bella are playing tug-of-war. :rotfl:

Happy New Year!!!:wizard:

When's your spring break? :rolleyes1 I must be in an enabling mood....

I do want to take a spring break trip, but it all depends on whether there is any money leftover after paying off the June trip. I don't know about WDW though -- our spring break is the week before Easter and there are no discounts during that time. I have been "playing" around with the idea of taking the kids to DC or Charleston -- I would really like to take them to DC and everything that I would want to do is free there so we are looking at hotel, gas, food, and souvenirs. Maybe...:rolleyes1

Whereever is fine! I have cabin fever.... and it's just turning to January! I tell ya, i despise winter.... plus, I love your TR's. :goodvibes
