Got my deed but still not in the system!

We got our deed for our BCV resale yesterday. The deed recorded on 8/6/04 but we are still not the system.

Today MS checked with member accounting and all they said was yes...you are not in the system.

Do I just continue to wait or is there something else I can do.

Our last resale I was in the system before we got our deed.

do you go thru DVC or a resalers?

if thru DVC - call your guide ask them what the whole up is.

if thru a resalers - you could ask accounting what the whole up is but I think you just need to wait.

It was bought via resale company....looks like I'll wait a couple more days to call MS again.

Something doesn't seem right to me. I would call and talk to someone who can give you a better answer. Fax them your deed if need be.

It usually takes 3-5 working days for DVC to get you in the system, normally. The closing company should send you a copy of the deed and at the same time send out the original to be recorded AND a copy to DVC with the $100 transfer fee. You are usually in the system far ahead of actually being recorded. I'd call DVC back and have them check to make sure it's not listed incorrectly. I'd also contact the closing company and make sure they sent it to DVC and if not get it out right away. If they say they did, have the F/U on it to see what happened. I know Charley could have slowed things down a bit but not that much.

Something wrong here for sure. You should be in the DVC system within 10 days of closing. If you received the deed in the mail yesterday, it's been more like 20-30 days since you closed and you definitely should be in the system by now. I wouldn't wait few more days to call DVC. I'd call them right away and also contact your resale agent to follow up with the closing company.

Thanks for the replies....I also feel its taking a bit too long...especially since I already received the deed.

With my BWV resale we were in the system and received the deed 3 weeks later.

That's why when I called MS this morning I explained the situation again and MS checked with member accounting...but it didn't help....all they could say was that I wasn't in the system yet.

I realize Charley may have affected things a bit but I just want to make sure that our paperwork wasn't misplaced, etc.

I'll call MS tomorrow morning and try to find out exactly where we are in the process.

Don't call MS - call Member Accounting. Talk to them direct! MA is one of the options on the menu when you dial the 800 number.

Okay...finally found out what's going on.

I called member accounting direct this morning and got a very helpful person....she did the usual check by last name first and said she didn't see anything and then she transferred me to member administration.

The MA person was also very helpful and tried to pull into from last name and again didn't see our BCV resale info. She then asked for the contract seller's name and found the info about our resale. Turns out MA did receive the contract/deed but they couldn't make out the notary seal so MA was waiting for our closing company. She asked if I had the original deed and if I could see the seal...which I could...she said okay then we'll process this and you should be in the system by tomorrow.
