When I was getting the mail today, I was so excited to see a post card the said Curious, Jones family (it has Alice looking into a cave). I was OMG maybe this postcard we could actually use. As I opened it up with great anticipation just to be let down.

Inside it has the following, Disney Value Resorts are Down Down Down compared to the same time last year, $82.00 for a value resort for most nights between 8/5 and 8/26, 15% less the rates during these dates in 2006.

:sad2: I was so disappointed. I get a post card for the dates that we are going, but it is for rack rate. My AAA discount is looking better every day.

Just wanted to spare others for getting their hopes up then being disappointed.

That is so mean and cruel :scared1: . Hopefully a discount will follow to brighten your day!

I got the same one today as well and was hoping for a pin code for July/aug. But also just more junk mail as this is already on their website under specials:goodvibes

Got it too! but we begin our free food vacation on Aug.26th the day this post card special ends.. I don't get it? I paid the same price for the Pop but I get the free food so it was not a deal for us.
Chatty

DON'T YOU JUST HATE THE DISNEY MARKETING DEPARTMENT! And yes I was yelling!

I know that they are trying to market to people who just don't know better, but you think with all the expense to send postcards out that they could just do some sort of promotion for those dates. The 2007 Disney brochure has the same "special". I guess they are considering the 15% off value season the promotion.

I remember thinking since the value season was moved up maybe free dining was going to be in the same time frame. Nope, I really think this is the promotion that had planned all along.

Maybe I should send back the post card and say nice try. Try again with something better.

It would have been really cruel if there was an actual pin number too.

I got it too! this is our second postcard....the first told us of the general public ticket upgrade for May 2007......and that one came with a pin #.....so cruel....at least this one did not have a pin #!

Hey Toystory, I think you got my postcard in the mail:cool1: We are the Joneses. I also got the same postcard, but it was addressed to the Overton family, but my address. We are the only family that has ever lived at this address(since we live out in the country). I too was bummed that it wasn't anything more that a piece of flimsy cardboard:laughing:  We are already going June 1-11, so not sure we would have gone back so soon, but it would have been nice if it was a great special of pin code.

I got my postcard with my name and my work address. I never gave WDW my work address. I used the phone a few times to call the 800#. Anyhow, I should of sent it back and asked them why didn't they send me a deal when I stayed during Peak Season. No way would I go to WDW in August. Maybe in Sept. I saved my postcard and I'll just use it somehow for my scrapbook I am putting together.

Disney seems to be pushing this pretty hard. Hopefully people aren't falling for it too much and they'll put something else out.

My worst nightmare is all those people who don't know better, booking becuase of this and making the parks busier. :sad2:

I was so excited to see ours in the mailbox, too! What a letdown. :sad2:

I got something about Pirates of the Carribean about a week ago and I was so let down too! Just send me the 40% off offer already! What does a person gotta' do? :rotfl2: I am really just joking but I want an offer! :confused3

Are PINS mass mailed around the same time as code releases? Or are PINS mailed on a daily basis?

I guess what I am asking is if I would know to call Disney & check if I have a PIN based upon monitoring the boards & learning other folks got them since we tend to trash much mail as junk mail.

I know when I got my 40% off pin code I got it about two weeks after the first post that someone received one.

Unfortunatley I was unable to use it.

Well Im certainly feeling left out...there was no postcard for me this week.

It seems like the only promotions I see from Disney these days are "value resort" oriented.

I called yesterday to get a rate for the FL resident code and the prices I was qouted were higher than the Expedia rates for the same time period.

I got the postcard too. I am glad that at least I am on thier mailing list, I just hope that it means I will still get something when they offer something good :goodvibes They know I want to come in January, I am going to wait until November or so to book it so they can wonder whether or not I'll come without getting a discount, and maybe if they think I won't, they'll offer me something better.
