Good stopping point

You could be thinking Mooresville,NC(about 20 minutes north of Charlotte).Thats where we stop.I am a big NASCAR fan and I like to spend overnight there and part of the next day visiting the race shops.Lots of hotels there(lots at exit 36 off i-77)We will be spending 6 nights there to see my first race, before we drive on to WDW.:cool1:

Kellyla - what race are u going to? I'm a Nascar freak as well, and we've visited the shops twice and did the tour at Lowe's Motor Speedway (best $5 I ever spent!). We're going to Martinsville in October and plan to hit the shops and drive on down to WDW, all for DH's 40th!!:goodvibes

Sorry, forgot to add that we are in Oakville. So yes Hamilton area. Great guess.

I did some calculating using mapquest and it looked like GA to me. I want to arrive at WDW around 1pm -3pm so it seems I'm on the right track. Would the Savannah area be OK to stop or would there be someplace else before or after that would be better? We only want to stop and get a shower and some sleep.

Thanks!

I just realized 4am to 10pm is 18 hours...Presuming no traffic problems or construction, you should make it to Brunswick, GA in that time with only 3.75 hours (non-stop) to WDW the next day  I live in Burlington and it takes me 9 hours (including 1/2 hour border crossing) to Beckley, WV and 18 hours to Brunswick, GA.

We are going to Lowes for the Bank of America 500 on October 13(a night race),sitting in the CHrysler grandstand just after they hit pit road.Hopefully also going to hit Gibbs Racing for their Fall Fan Fest(I am a BIG Stewart fan,GO TONY).We have seen all of the big race teams(hendrick, rcr, penske, dei, gibbs)so we are going to see some of the smaller ones this time(JR motorsports,Harvick,RYR,etc.)We are there from Thursday to the next Wednesday when we will hit the road for Disney.Depending on how we feel we may even go see the Busch race on the Friday night.I am so excited.

We went to that one last year - Lowe's is my favourite track - make sure you take the track tour if you can - just go into the gift shop in the main entrance and it's $5 each, and they take you around the track (80 mph) and to Victory Lane - it's great. We're doing the same 'tour' of Nascar and Disney, but not until Oct. 21, we'll just miss you. Have a great trip!
