I just missed a call from my guide, but my daughter took a message that basically said that he would call back on Monday, that he had good news for me about points at the BCV. Does this mean what I think it does ??? Has anyone else heard from their guide? Keeping my fingers crossed.

A few days ago, my guide told me she could give me an actual price quote for the BCV but had no idea when they'd be able to sell to NYers. I am trying to be patient... It will be worth it!

If you are interested in buying, perhaps you have not given her an amount of points you wish to purchase so you will get current price rather than $80 p.p.

About one and a half weeks ago, I had told my guide that I wanted to go on record before the price increase as wishing to purchase a 60 point add-on at BCV as soon as possible. He said at that point that the price would not increase until after a 30 day extension of the current price. Then he left the message with my daughter yesterday that he had good news about BCV points. I am hoping we can at least start talking about procedure when I call back on Monday.

I placed my "order" a few weeks ago so my papers could just be sent to me with no wait. I even offered a credit card number for the deposit to get the process going ASAP, which she didn't take. (I figured it was worth a try!) ;) I want to make ressies with the new points, so I'm anxious to get them into my account. :D

Is it possible that Disney is registered in NY. If at all possible can anyone shed light on this info.

Talked to my guide this morning. He said that NY is still not approved and DVC has no idea when it will be approved. The good news was that for NYer's who are already DVC members whenever it is approved, we will get the same conditions and incentives as prior to the price increase. $ 75.00 per point and I think that he said the $5.00 per point incentive for over 100 points would also be included. I just hope that there is inventory left for us. I am going down at the end of July and hope to do the paperwork if NY is not approved by then.

I think that he said the $5.00 per point incentive for over 100 points would also be included

Do you mean the magical beginnings incentive or the original incentive?

HBC

He said there would be an additional 5 dollars off for over 100 points, He did not mention Magical Beginnings, but I am not sure, we only want to do a 60 point add on.

I am heading down in late July and hope that we can get in on the incentives. Buying an add-on of 150 points at 80 bucks per point is not as attractive to me.

Hope we get approved soon!!

Just returned from 10 days at OKW with two DDs, 7 & 2. Got a call from our guide who said the original $5 rebate that was offered in Feb. to nonNY'ers was now being extended to NY'ers visiting on site. That convinced me to purchase 150 points at BCV at purchase price of $70/point. :) All this after we had stopped by the BCV models on May 31 to inquire if there was any chance of getting the original offer before the price increase to $80 and was told $75 today, $80 after Sunday! Guide called on Monday, 6/3 with the offer. He wasn't aware that we were there earlier and said the people at the models didn't have all the information. Anyway, all worked out well, except now I'm wondering if 150 is enough to go with our 220 OKW pts, LOL!

Jimmac

So did you sign the papers while you were there and then they called you to tell you the deal was better than you thought?

HBC

to Jimmac- do I understand you correctly that u signed on May 31 and received the $70 a point price? As I signed on May 10th and they told me that the $5 per point price was over on 4/30. So I paid the full price of $75 a point. We returned to NY on 5/18 and I then sent them the full balance as we decided to cash out instead of financing. I will be extremely angry as I did not get any incentive at all although I was originally told that I would get my choice of a 5 night hotel stay or $5 off per point. Please clear this up for me so I can figure out if I should be yelling me head off at someone down there. As I flew down there purposely to sign these papers as I live in NY.

I signed the papers after meeting with guide on 6/5/02, the day we were leaving. It wasn't until he called on Monday, 6/3/02 that I got the information on the offering of the original deal of $5 off the purchase price of $75 a point that had expired but was not available to people from NY.

Jimmac,

Still a bit confused about your reply.

So you did get the discount of $5 and paid only $70 a point? Because We were thinking about buying some more points but I need to get this price issue resolved before I do anything else. Because there is nothing worse then being told a price and having it switched on you when you are there ready to write the check. Please clear this up for me. Thanks

Jimmac and WDWCrazy:

One more bit of information to add. Were your point purchases add ons or were they a first time purchase?

I have been reading that they may be treating the two somewhat differently for New Yorkers which really amazes me.

HBC

1st time purchases. Quite honestly it shouldn't have made the difference. I had spoken to my member guide not 3 weeks earlier and told him I was flying in to buy in as NY was not registered yet and didn't want to get locked out. I think it stinks personally. I plan on calling them tomorrow. While I am still happy with my purchase I need to find out what is going on.

I was told the decision to give NYer's the extension on the incentives was made last week.

wdwcrazy,

The price per point was $70. This was a seperate contract from my OKW contract but the same use year.
