If I make a reservation for my DH to play golf with my DVC discount, do I as the member have to check in and be there with him? Or can he go and play on his own?

Assuming you mean your husband, then as long as you have the same last name, just make the tee time and make sure he has your DVC id card when he gets to the course. If you make the tee time online, for some reason there is no option to select to say you are a member so when I make my times there is a box to add any additional info so I just say that I am a DVC member and that there was no selection for DVC members during the reservation process.

Ok this helps. He is not the member. I am only. So there is no card with his name on it. Can I just show up and show my ID card and then leave or do I have to stay and "play" with him?

This I am not quite sure this. We get a golf discount for my DS12 by using mine or DH's card when he plays alone, but he's a child. Just call the number for WDW golf and ask to speak to someone at the pro shop at the course he will be playing. They will be able to give you an answer.
