It's just my DW and I for 7 days:hug: Sept 26-Oct3/07 @ POR. This is intended to be a somewhat relaxing trip and I really don't want to structure it to much. We did the family commando trip last August.

So my question is,

Since this is right after Free dining and partially before the F&W at Epcott. Will it be slow enough crowd wise (in the full service dining rooms) that I can getaway without ADR's?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Free dining isn't over for those of us who booked a trip through the Bounce Back program (the last day to check in for this program is September 29). Also, through the regular free DDP people can book 14 nights.

I would 100% make ADRs...you'll probably find that they're hard to get, especially with MNSSHP starting as well.

I would definatly say you need to book adrs. I tried to to book for Whispering Canyon dinner yesterday and was only able to get 9 pm for the entire time we are there. (September 29) That is not that much of a hot spot, so i thought. You are going to find that the last week of free dining is very popular (9/22 - 9/?or 10/?)Have fun!

Someone did a poll on here and that week showed as the busiest week for free dining. You could book up until the 23rd and go 14 days out. It looked like about a third of the people did this. Make ADR"S now!

The bounceback was a program they had where people who were at WDW in the late fall last year (like November) were given the opportunity to book a free dining package for this fall in August/September.
We booked our two bounceback trips during our Christmas week trip last year. The only stipulations to the program were the purchase of at least a one-day pass and one night's deposit. We're going twice through the promotion--once in mid-August and then in late-September/early-October.

So long as you start your trip before the end of free dining 9/22 you get free dinning for your entire trip.

We check-in on 9/21 and have free dining for our entire 10 day trip.

Sorry but you haven't avoided the free dining crowds. You should make some ADR soon.

Also, I believe the F&WF begins 9/28.

We are checking in on them 29th too. I was able to get what I wanted, but definitely make them.

You may have trouble now with the hot restaurants (le Cellier, etc.)

I just made adrs for our Columbus weekend trip: Blue Zoo (dinner), Chefs de France (dinner) and Tony's Town Square (lunch), and lots of peak time slots were available for those restaurants.

We are arriving 9/29 - I booked my ADR's a few days shy of the 180 mark and the only time I could get for LeCellier the whole week was after 8 for dinner. I would make sure you book ADR's.

Thanks for the replies.

I really didn't think I was going to need ADR's!:confused3

Guess I better get to work :surfweb:

I think that other than the first week of free dining that last week will be the most crowded. My reasoning is that many parents will be taking kids out of school to do free dining and most people wont do it within the first few weeks of school and reasonably so. No one wants their kid to miss the first day;) . Many are checking in on the 22 to get free dining for thier entire stay:thumbsup2 . The first week of free dining will be crowded also because it is just beofore school starts. In the north we start right after Labor day.

Make those ADR's or you may not be able to eat where you want

I say make em, better to have a place then get stuck with CS food for all your meals

going Sept 21 thru 30 (free dining) made our ADR's back in April
Start calling, last year no walk-ups that we saw were getting in.
