going to BCV concerned about rooms

Hi we're going to the BCV in 15 days . I am really concerned about my room request(views). Everyone has different taste, but I just don't want to be next to the parkinglot or anywere near it. I have requested the quite pool view. Did I just screw up? The only reason I'm not asking for the epcot view is because of the reported noise. My son is autistic, and noise bothers him. Looking for a quite area with a great view. And the sun and the moon and the stars. Thanks for any helpful hints!!

Call MS back and tell them your situation and you want a certain quiet area for medical reasons explaining that your son is autistic.

Okay...for all the horror stories I heard in peoples trip reports before our trip this past Oct., I have to say we had an awesome stay at BCV's. We had a 1bdrm villa overlooking the quiet pool on the 3rd floor and it was wonderful! The villas are situated so that they aren't directly on the parking lot -- there's the pool and then a canal and then some trees and then the parking lot. You can see the parking lot but it's out beyond all of that and if you end up on a lower floor you probably wouldn't see it at all. As for noise, we did not have a problem or hear any unless we opened up the balcony door but that may have been that we lucked out and had considerate people at the pool during our trip I had heard alot of people complain about noise with the pool views but we didn't have a problem. If it makes you nervous perhaps you should change your view request to woods/courtyard view though.

I agree with Pa@okw95 too...Call MS back and tell them your situation and you want a certain quiet area for medical reasons explaining that your son is autistic. I'm sure that will be the best way of getting what you need.

We went Easter week last year and had a 1BR on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and it was just fine! The pool was never really crowded at all, and there was no noticeable noise - quite quiet actually.

a word of advice............a dumpster view is better than being home..........remember that when you get there...........you'll be more satisfied for it................WDW is special anywhere you stay

if you have a higher floor that overlooks the quiet pool you will see the parking lot. you will be higher than the little tree line that seperates the lot from the small river.

Please do not be offended by my question, as I hope it doesn't read as insensitive.....are you referring to being bothered by noise while sleeping or just in general? If it's in general, the noise at the parks is much louder than any noise in your room, regardless of view. If you plan on going to the parks, and you feel your son can handle that noise level, then you should have no problem in any room.

It's also worth remembering that, unless you have a family of elephants above you (which can happen at any resort), as long as you keep your balcony door closed your room will be very quiet.

I have to agree with this one. We were at BCV in a 1BR last summer. The 'quiet' pool was not quiet at all in my opinion. Families would come home from WDW around 10 PM and then hit the pool. It was very loud from our 4th floor room even with the slider closed. I called the front desk a few times and asked why they didn't do anything about it since the sign listed said the pool closed at 10 PM. It is actually opened '24 hours' per them. Maybe the week we were there just had all the rude and obnixious people. Maybe your stay will be enjoyable. I would vote to have a woods view and will request this if I stay there again.

I had an EPCOT view last year. It was great. The only noise I heard is from the fireworks. Those never lasted more than 5-minutes. In 2002, I stayed on the pool side. There was noise one night when there were some loud midnight swimmers.

BCV is the upside down "y" in the bottom left corner. You will see that the road is above that. While it does come close in a couple areas it's not as bad as one would think. You will get some road noise from a minor road, and you will get some pool noise from the quiet pool view.

I wouldn't really worry about it, if it becomes a problem just close your balcony door and you won't hear much from either.

And great stuff on Boardwalk where I am hoping to pass ROFR this week!


As for finding quiet rooms: I'd probably stay away from the pool views if you think kids laughing screaming will bother your son. maybe the woods view would be best. Do tell the ressie agent about the medical concern but don't depend on them to know the degree of 'quiet' needed nor the actual 'qt' level of individual rooms. Perhaps requesting a top floor end unit might remove you from surrounding room sounds.

I apologize for being crass. But, WDW is children central and really isn't quiet. Also, you can really hear and feel the fireworks from Epcot. (Regardless of view, IMO) But, the parkinglot view could be more quiet as it doesn't face epcot.

You're welcome, I know I enjoy all those pics as well and go there every few months.

After i posted i thought that maybe you can't tell where the road is. It is deceptive because it actually goes under the canal that links the resorts to Epcot. It is hard to tell even when you are driving that this is what you are going under. There isn't alot of traffic on this road, mainly BC/YC traffic, as it is just a horseshoe.

The pool view is not directly next to the parking lot - there is the pool and the canal in between. You should have no problem.

Enjoy. We will be there 3/4 and have requested a pool view also.

I had the woods view last May and thought it was great. In fact, the woods view is now my favorite.
