Gnomies Gone Wild

Good morning, LL! Hope the medicine does the trick!

I :headache: Mondays, too. I am just glad that this Monday will be less heinous than others.

You have a :cloud9: Monday this week!

I hope so too. I really can't afford for this to get pushed back. We have department vacations coming up and they will flip if I have to be out during any of those as well. I'd like to skip that drama if I could.

Skipping drama is always a good thing. ::yes::

LL, hope that sore throat doesn't affect your surgery plans!

CP, any fun plans for today? It's our last day of break and I was thinking about taking the boys to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" but it looks like the rain today will hold off until this evening (and Patrick has been asking to go on a family bike ride) and it will be coming to the $2 theater in 3 weeks so I may wait and take them as a weekend-before-Mommy-leaves special treat.

I know several of you are not spending as much time on TR's because of the no-trip-blues (been there, done that!) but you are such a well travelled group I thought I would post this question here for your input too

You know about Beth's nerve condidtion and she is hoping to get her nerve block before we go but that is still not scheduled to this weekend we discussed different rides and which ones she should probably avoid (she would love to ride any of them so fear factor isn't in play here). She told me that she can wait until we get there and look at the ride before deciding but so many of Disney's attractions are enclosed I'm not sure that will be very helpful.

She says the worst things would be anything that has a lot of side-to-side motion or sudden, jerky stops. She is OK with up and down or even spinning (ToT and Tea Cups are both fine for example) What rides do you think she will want to avoid?

some we talked about:
  • BTMRR (luckily this one she can see in advance but it just has that rickety feel to it and I am not sure would be good for her)
  • Dinosaur (I haven't ridden it but I always hear this is pretty rough)
  • Space Mtn (how jerky is this after the refurb? I haven't been on in years)
  • RnR (I thought it was pretty smooth when I rode but I'm not as sensitive as she is so I don't know, she says the fast take-off is no problem but I can't remember how it stops)
  • Test Track (again, I don't remember this being as too rough but maybe not a good one?)
  • Star Tours (what do you think? I haven't been on)
  • EE (too rough? Another I haven't tried yet)

What do you think? Others?

Thanks girls!!

I've been following on your TR, Katie. Just haven't really been posting. Sorry. You know I love you, right!?! :rotfl:

I think Test Track could be okay. But there is a sudden braking part if I remember correctly and then some jostling when you go over some bumps or something like that.

BTMRR might be okay but I thought it was a bit jerky from side to side for myself.

Skip Dinosaur & Star Tours for sure. The others I don't haven't been on so I don't know.

Enjoy your last day of spring break, Katie! I am hoping to clean the house today, and then, just relax. I really hope to get some scrapbooking done this week. Chelsea is headed to a friends' house today, so I won't have to hear about how bored she is.

As far as jerky rides, I would avoid Dinosaur (very jerky), BTMRR, and Star Tours (lots of side to side in that). Test Track and Everest didn't seem jerky to me, but I am not sure about the others.

Late Happy Easter everybody- hope you had good ones!

So... Rachael got a "Queen" title yesterday- I put pix up in FB if you wanna take a look. She was so proud of herself! :goodvibes

Have a good MOnday!

Hi ladies!

Hope you all had lovely Easter weekends! It was certainly busy around here! We've all moved and painted again....oh dear! It was easy to get all my needed exercise this weekend! I've been doing really well with the new eating plan and I've been walking about 40-60 mins. a day! Hopefully it's helping!

LL - hope your sore throat doesn't cause drama! And hope you're feeling better!

P - glad to hear you're doing well!

Katie - Oh dang I just broke off my gel nail! Nevermind....have you thought of getting Beth to maybe check out the attractions on Youtube? Maybe that will help her decide if the ride is do-able? I can't believe how quick our trips are coming! I leave 2 weeks from tomorrow! You must be squirming in your seat too!

Everyone else - Hi! :)

YouTube is an excellent idea, Stacy!

I'm still feeling crappy but I'm pretty sure it's just allergies. I called the surgeon's office yesterday and they said as long as I don't have a fever they will perform the surgery. I just wonder how much more crappy I will feel after having the tube down my throat and such when I wake up from the surgery. I'm not looking forward to it, that is for sure. I've been sleeping crappy too. Stupid pollen.

You're right LL, pollen is stupid!! Making you feel all gross...Hope you feel better in the morning! Remember it's Wednesday so the week is half over! :)

Add me to the list of cancelled trips. Southwest just gets to keep our unused airfare because I can't afford to pay for even cheap hotel or Rachael's park ticket. Jim is STILL unemployed, his job leads didn't pan out, he's NOT collecting unemployment, and we STILL haven't gotten our tax return. It's looking like his motorcycle and my car will more then likely be repoed because we just plain old do not have the $. I'm so heartbroken and disappointed and SO GRATEFUL I never spilled the beans to my princess.

G'night all.

julez that just plain old sucks. Theres really nothing more I can say :(

I do hope things can turn around for you. Any chance of 'selling' the voucher and recouping some cash?? Anyone can use it, it doesn't have to be you. Even at 1/2 the face value...you'd get something back at least.

P

Glad you are feeling better, LL! I have a new list of books you might enjoy, LL -- some of them are young adult novels, but they have all been good.

A Darker God

The Wedding Season

As you can see, I am spending most of my spring break reading.

Nothing wrong with that! I'm reading Shopaholic Takes Manhatten, they are such cute books!

My loss is your gain! Anybody -you or someone you know-needs airfare to be completed before May 10th, I can get them on southwest for 1/2 price up to a 1000$ ticket! My credit is for 500+

Hi Gnomies!

My surgery is tomorrow at 7:30AM. I think I'm the first one, yahooo! Hopefully that means it will be on time. The pre-surgical testing nurse said that she thought I'd be in and out in 4 hours total from the time I arrive at 6:30. Here's hoping! I want to get home and sleeeeeeeeeeep.

Good luck, tomorrow, LL. Let us know how you're doing when you have a chance. I'll be sending good thoughts your way! :goodvibes
