Glenda's September 2008 WDW Adventure!

I got alamo for $175 mid-size SUV for 8 days.
I just looked at a site that Antss told me about - they list a bunch of different rental places - it's really nice! So far, I see an Economy car for 171 for the week. I guess you got the better deal since you're paying the same price for a bigger car. Did you go through Alamo's site, or call them.

pm me I work with enterprise and could possibly get you a good deal. I won't be back on today have to go to the vet and pick up our baby Molly (greyhound) who had surgery today (possible bladder cancer) and our laptop is down until the 20th at least thats what HP says.
Thanks! I will!

I used a coupon from mousesavers for 20% and $25 off but it didn't apply to the smaller cars, I guess that is why I got such a good deal :)

I just realized I need to reorganize my schedule...you guys are gonna be at MK on 9/9 right??

Oh and you guys are going to MNSSHP right? Are you dressing up?

Me, my mom, and my husband just bought tickets this past Sunday, for the 9/9 MNSSHP and yes we'll be at MK that day. Unfortunately, the only early ADR we could get inside the park was at the Plaza Restaurant, but we've never eaten there so thought we'd give it a try. I know Glenda and her bunch are going to be at the party that night and I believe so is Kat. I'm not sure who else is going to be there. We went last year and had a blast. I just wore a pair of my scrubs and went as a nurse (not very imaginative I know:rolleyes1 ), but my husband went as a caveman, complete with a wig, and got comments everywhere we went. We went into the Monster Inc Comedy Club and they kept showing him up on the screen and Roz kept calling him "that guy". He had a blast. I think we'll both go as cave people this year and my mom (who was supposed to go with me last year, but had to cancel), already has a 1/2 angel, 1/2 devil costume she bought last year, so yes we'll be dressing up. The Boo to You parade and the Hallowishes fireworks are fantastic, as is seeing all the characters out in costume. Once on the 'Keys to the Kingdom' tour, I had a CM who told us he enjoyed the MNSSHP more than he did the MVMCP, and I have to agree. We did too. Where else can adults go trick or treating and act like they're 6 y/o again and have their picture made with Cinderella's coach? Anyway, the party is tons of fun!

I am trying to convince my mom we shouuld go. That sounds like a lot of fun. I want to go as a Pirate Princess (mom will help make the costume). Good to know other's are dressing up to. I heard the fireworks alone are worth it!

I have 6 ressies at 3:45 at CP if you would like them? just PM me.

Yes, I'm going that night. I'm eating at Tony's right b4 the party starts. Please send any ideas for a costume that's not too hot!

Thanks, but we are already eating breakfast that morning at CP. The Plaza Restaurant is I belive the only place in MK that we've never eaten, so I think we'll go ahead and give it a try. We are on the DxDDP and I have a feeling that after a week of heavy TS meals, that something like a sandwich will sound good, by that time. Thanks, though. We love CP!

We saw adults in all kinds of cute costumes last year. There were a couple of families dressed like the Incredibles, a really cute Viking couple, a lady dressed like a Pilgrim, one dressed like Jesse from Toy Story, several Pirate wenches, a couple dressed like ketchup and mustard, one dressed in a card costume like a queen of hearts, several in the 50's poodle skirts, a gypsy wench, a Cleopatra, a ballet dancer, a Wilma Flintstone, a lady soccer player, several Tinkerbelles, a bunny (complete with pink tights, rabbit ears, and a fuzzy pom pom for her tail), one dressed like an old fashoned gray ghost (Madam Leota, maybe?), a couple dressed from the movie 'Grease', a zombie (or mummy maybe?), and quite a few more that I can't remember right now.

I found Mark's caveman costume for like .99 on ebay. It was homemade, but really cute. Someone had just taken two pieces of fuzzy animal skin material, sewed it up the sides, tied it on one shoulder, and cut the bottom in jagged edges. A friend then gave me an old scruffy wig to go with it. Even though it was plenty long enough, he insisted on wearing a pair of shorts underneath it, because he didn't like how it was "air conditioned" and "open down below".

Amanda, you might try looking on ebay for your lady pirate's costume. There were several on there last year, when I was looking. They might be cheaper than making one homemade.

Well, I guess I'm going to have to talk to my Mom to see what she wants to do. But believe me, I'm willing to steal anyone's idea! HA!

So, is Sunday, Sept. 7th good for anyone to meet up with me at AK? I plan on being there at rope drop. Let me know!

:wave2:

Ok for some reason I am stressing about our itinerary. Mom says whatever I want to do is fine...she is too busy with work to worry about it (which I obviously am not)

Sat 9/6- arrive around dinner time, grab Earl and head to hotel
Sun 9/7-Magic Kingdom first thing, then head to EPCOT later (after going back to hotel) for Le Cellier with group
Mon 9/8 DHS
Tue 9/9 EPCOT in the morning, back to hotel then MK and MNSSHP (probably)
Wed 9/10 Possibly Keys to the Kingdom Dinner at Cape May with Glenda
Thur 9/11 Animal Kingdom with dinner at Cali Grille
Fri 9/12 free day...going to afternoon tea at Gf
Sat 9/13 head home

I have a leftover dining credit and am just so lost right now. I don't know what to do for dinner the night of MNSSHP, not sure if we are even going...not sure if we are doing KTKT and if not, that opens a whole day.

It's been a stressful week, lol.

Wondered where you had been. Congratulations on passing the exam.

I just sent you a PM about the 1900 Park Fare dinner on Sept 9th. It looks like everyone has bailed on that ADR in favor of the MNSSHP that night. I went ahead and bought party tickets for my little group and made another ADR for us in the MK for that night (booking it under my mom's name and cell phone number), but I also called and changed the 1900 Park Fare ADR from ten people to four people. The time had to change from 7:30pm to 7:00pm. I included the ADR confirmation number and the phone number it is listed under in my PM to you. I guess I wasn't thinking and made the ADR in my name.:rotfl: I was just concerned with not leaving you and Adrian in the lurch for an ADR that night. If you guys decide you're not going to use it, let me know and I'll call and cancel, so somebody else can get it. If you are, Kat may or may not be joining you guys, so there would be one or maybe two empty chairs to fill.

I just went back and corrected the spelling on Adrian's name. Sorry about that. I work with an Adrien, who spells his with an 'e'.:duck:

Eeeeeek! Completely off topic here, but does anyone want an 80lb akita? I just got up to go to the kitchen to get a drink. When I came back into my computer room, my akita is chewing up my brand new, never used, haven't even had a chance to read PassPorter WDW Treasure Hunt book. Of all things for him to choose to get off my bookcase. I bought it for my trip last December, but haven't had a chance until now to really look at it. My stupid dog just managed to shred it into little bitty, pieces in the length of time it took me to go to the kitchen and bathroom. I'm swear I'm going to make my shih tzu an only child! Niko never chews anything, except his toys. Well, that's not quite true. He did eat a couch one time when I left him alone, when he was about three months old and also ate a rattan rocking chair and a large pillow that same day. But in the last year or so, he's never offered to bother my stuff. I'm swear I'm going to KILL him!!! He's a good guard dog, but he knows better than to bother anything that's not his. He's graduated from two obedience schools, for goodness sakes! Do you think he's trying to tell me something?

No problem about 1900 Park Fare .... Maybe that night Adrian :lovestruc and I will do Victoria and Albert's  or something like that instead (but we may indeed keep the 1900 Park Fare ADR, so thank you for thinking of us! )

Hey YAW! I was thinking about switiching from Narcoosee's to Jiko. What do you think? Has any of you been to Jiko. I thought it would be a better choice since we're already staying there. :listen:

P.S. I just finished Day 3 of my report! So when you get a chance, stop by!

:wave2:

An 80lbs Akita?? LOL I don't think he would fit in my apartment, lol.

Glenda, Tom and I went to Jiko in December and thought it was great...however I am picky and there wasn't a TON of stuff on the menu that looked good to me. However, what i did get was great! Can't wait to go read day 3 today.
