Glenda's September 2008 WDW Adventure!

Glenda, Tom and I went to Jiko in December and thought it was great...however I am picky and there wasn't a TON of stuff on the menu that looked good to me. However, what i did get was great! Can't wait to go read day 3 today.

Thanks - will go check out the menu!!!! :surfweb:

I'm here!! Got some fine tuning to my itinerary to do today...and gave my mom the news that we are doing KTKT for a belated birthday gift :cool1:

I am here too. Just spending time with the kids at the pool and having summer time fun!!

HEY!!!! I'm back too! I've finished my report, so now I'm free to roam the boards again! I'm so glad that it's almost time to go! And that you all will get a chance to meet my Mom!

I'm still here, not doing much other than working and waiting for the Sept trip. I am thinking about going to Cirque de Soleil La Nouba one night. My husband/ex (gee, I never know what to call that man, technically we're still married, but have been seperated for the last four years, yet I still see him regularly and we still go on vacation together every year. Yeah, we have a weird relationship, I know:rolleyes1 . We get along great, as long as we don't live together.:rotfl:). Anyway, he called and told me he had seen some travel show that was talking about Cirque de Soleil and wanted to know if we were going in September. I saw it with my elder son and grandaughter a few years ago, but haven't seen it since then, so am thinking about booking it for him. If I do, it will be on Sept 11th as that's the only night I have an ADR I'm willing to change. Anybody been to La Nouba lately? Also does anyone know of any discounts for it? I have an AP.

ANTS and Glenda, have you guys thought anymore about going on the cruise in January? It should be lots of fun. This weekend I finally got tired of watching airfare and bought the airfare for my return flight from Ft Lauderdale in January.

Yay! You're back...and I am excited to meet your mommy. We can have a mommy daughter trip, lol.

I need to narrow everything down today because I think I have some ADR's to change. I think we are going so skip the halloween party though since for my mom's birthday I told her we are doing KTTK :)

I have been calling to add at POP most likely I will do another value resort.... then hop to POP on the 6th... AGAIN... I canceled my HRH reservation I cannot get myself to do Universal... esp'ly solo ::yes:: :faint:

can't you rent a Dvc stuio for the 5th.

Ok, barring something major, these are our final plans. We have decided to forgo the halloween part, even though I am bummed. Just not fitting in our budget :(

Saturday 9/6-Arrive at 7, grab Earl of Sandwich and check in at the hotel

Sunday 9/7-Animal Kingdgom, break at the hotel then Le Cellier with the group

Monday 9/8 -Magic Kingdom (which I hate doing on a Monday!) with dinner at Kona then Wishes and Spectro

Tuesday 9/9-MGM (late, like noonish) then dinner at Mamma Melroses

Wednesday- Free day with dinner at Cape May with Glenda and her Mommy

Thursday-KTTK dinner at Cali Grille

Friday-EPCOT, GF tea and dinner at Wolfgang Puck

Saturday- leave:headache:

I have issues with my itinerary but can't figure out how to fix it. I don't want to do MK on a Monday and I don't want to save EPCOT to Friday (we may pop over in the morning on Wed to do Soarin and grab breakfast though). I don't want to wear my mom out, so lots of breaks planned :)

Ohhh it's so close now!!

Sorry we're going to miss you guys at the Halloween Party. What time is your ADR with Glenda at Cape May? We'll be there Wednesday 9/10 too at 7:25pm with Rich, Adrien, KAT, and ANTS. We still have one empty seat for that meal, so hopeully there will be somebody else too. Maybe we'll run into you guys.

Yea, I really wanted to go but since we are doing the KTTK and Tea it was just too much. Plus my mom didn't seemed thrilled with the idea, and it's a bit too early in the night to just send her back to the hotel :lmao:

Cape May is at 5:40 so I doubt we will see you guys there.

Is anyone planning any night time activities? I am usually up for something, although my mom isn't. I would love to go to PI one last time before it closes :sad1:

Oh, I called yesterday and got really good seats for the 9:00pm Cirque de Soleil show on Thursday Sept 11th. While I was at it, I also changed two more of my ADRs without any problem. We decided to just to stay at our hotel and eat at Boatwrights the night we're going to Cirque de Soleil. I also canceled the Plaza the night of the Halloween party and decided to try the new Wave restaurant at the Contemporary. The CM had to book us at a table for four though. He said there were no tables for three:confused3 . Duh! I was surprised at how easy it was to get an ADR for the Wave. I basically had just about any early time I wanted. Has anyone tried it yet?

Nothing about the Wave jumped out at me...I'd love to hear someone who has tried it too.

Have you been to Cirque before? I have always wanted to go.

No, I think I will pass, since it's just after Christmas. Usually, my money is a bit short around that time. In 2009, I'd like to take 2 vacations, one in Hawaii or the Caribbean, and MAYBE back to Disney.

I'm such an old lady and never have enough energy to dance after being in the parks all day. I'd LOVE to go with you though. We'll see . . .

earljam, looks like we have 2 restaurant matches: On Monday, I'll be at Boma at 6:15, so maybe I'll see you on your way out. Tuesday I'll be at Tony's 10mins before you! I was thinking about changing that one to the Wave at the Contemporary though, since I've never been to that resort before.

Is everyone getting excited? I am!!!!

But oh! Amanda, you're not going to the Halloween party . . . oh well, I hope you enjoy the KTTK tour.

I took my eldest son and grand daughter several years ago. They loved it. In fact when my husband picked us up at the Dallas airport a couple of days later and he asked her if she had fun, instead of telling him about the parks and characters, she started telling him about the Cirque show. My mom and husband have never been though. I got really good seats, right where the clowns come out and do their thing and where the actors parade by for the preshow.

As far as the Halloween party, my mom will be turning 75 y/o that night (shh, don't tell I told you her age, she'd kill me:rotfl: ). You should have seen her trying on the cavewoman costume I got her the other day. She kept saying it was too short and that she needed a wig like mine. She then threatened to steal mine. I had to convince her that gray headed cavewomen really did exist and that she looked sexy:rotfl: . She gave me one of her looks and informed me 75 y/o's did not look sexy. She can't wait for the Halloween party. We're going to take our costumes in a backpack with us to The Wave, then go to the restrooms to change for the party. Glenda, if you guys are at the Wave about that time, and hear a commotion going on in the restroom, come rescue me from my momma. We may be having a tug-or-war over my wig.:rotfl:

OMG that made me laugh...that is something my grandma would say.

I know that DH and I are going one night to PI. I think Saturday 9/6. Are you in then?? Either then or Sunday 9/7 after dinner with all of you at Le Cellier.

We get in Saturday at like 7 and are going to grab quick dinner. That might be an option.

Anyone else?
