Giving up Cable/satellite do you miss it?

What's this Aereo? I also live in a rural area and if I could get local channels (networks) I'd drop direct TV in a heartbeat. We have Netflix thru the wii. I want to get Roku so we can watch it on both tvs. Can we watch 2 different Netflix shows at the same time on separate TVs?

Yes - We watch 2 different Netflix shows on 2 different tv's...But when my dd also watches on my tablet then I get a message saying 'you have too many Netflix shows going at once'.

We dropped the big cable package & DVR and went with basic. My kids watch basic cable in the kitchen and playroom. We also have prime, netflix, and hulu. I watch those almost exclusively. I will find a TV series with 4-5 seasons, become addicted and will watch that nightly until it's over. Then find another! I'm totally satisfied.

I do like having basic cable for the kids though, so we haven't given up on it totally yet. But we are still saving money, even with 3 pay services.

On another note, I did look into buying an antenna. But even if we could buy the perfect antenna, we are in such a rural area, I don't think we'll get much. I think it was 5-6 channels.

Got our Roku the other day, and have hooked it up to our t.v. on the main floor. I've been using it exclusively with Netflix, Hulu, and Aereo. Aereo is working great for getting our local stations live. So far am not missing Directv.

Trying to decide if I want to add Playon as well.

Will probably get Roku for our other 2 t.v.s, and then do a vacation suspension with Directv for a month and see how we do!

I switched to basic cable with nickoldean and Disney for my son 23$ plus 10$ fot internet. I also have netflix and download tv show apps I'm saving 70$ a month
