Girls Trip Revisited-- Final Day (Part 3) -- August 14

Cape May is one of our favourite breakfasts, it is so pretty and the food is delicious! Not to mention the fab characters in their beachy best. How great that you got to meet MEK! You both seem like such wonderful people, so a great match :) You also got some great shots on your walk to EPCOT! We enjoy taking that walk as well when we get the chance.

Yeah - our DIS meet! We had a great time meeting you and having breakfast together. We actually decided to go shopping after breakfast. Something weird about staying outside the park - I wanted to explore more off-site stuff so we went to the mall with the Vera Bradley outlet. It was a nice way to spend the heat of the day and then we headed into Epcot that afternoon.

I do hope our paths cross again on a future trip. :thumbsup2

We love Cape May. :)

Yay for a DIS meet! :woohoo:

Walking from Beach Club to Epcot is sooo nice. I got to stay there in March, and that was such a great thing to be there in 5 minutes. :cool1:

Wonder what the plans are for Figment's future? I hope something cool goes in where EO is.

How awesome that you got to meet up with Mary Ellen!!

Mary Ellen, Goofy, Minnie, & Donald and Figment - sounds like a great morning already. And that is very nice of you and Mary to do your FP duty to the group!

Those baby duckies reminded me of our recent DL trip where a mommy duck was watching her babies scavenger for food at one of the CS locations and those little guys were fearless. They were walking right over people's feet. They are so adorable!!

Love the dis meet and the baby duckies.

Those photopass pics are great! How did you get the one picture to change pictures automatically? That is cool! I Just love those frame pictures. They turned out well.

Fun, a Dismeet!!!

How does the breakfast at CM compare to others? I know each breakfast buffet seems to have one item that sets them apart from other breakfasts.. Like 1900PF and the strawberry soup... or CP and poohs puffed french toast.

Today was a very special day as we were having a DIS meet with someone I've been wanting to meet for a long time.

We were having breakfast as a huge group at Cape May with Donald, Minnie and Goofy.

After our breakfast and our fun DIS meet, we walked (slowly) to the International Gateway for our day at Epcot.

It is always fun to meet online DIS friends when in WDW. I have met DISer's the last two trips and I am sooo looking forward to finally meeting a really neat DIS'er and her husband in December when we finally return to WDW after 3 1/2 years. Whom might that couple be from the DIS?

You and Mark:woohoo::hug:

Great way to start the day. Breakfast with some Disney characters and some Dis friends. :thumbsup2

The picture of Figment on riding on the film really makes me wish they'd bring back that scene from the original with Dreamfinder and Figment on that blimp thing. If there's going to be any flying devices in that ride, it should be that.

PHEW!!! I just binge-read your report and got all caught up. Thanks for the links!!!

I'm going to post my comments- no need to respond to them all!

Did you add new wedding photos or did I just miss them before? They are fabulous!

Congrats to Andy on the coaching job.

Regarding the photos from the Plaza and Fantasyland. What a great gathering of gorgeous girls! Just adorable!

Nice way to start a trip- dining at Be Our Guest! :woohoo:

Cute sword in the stone pics.

:cool1: for checking in at the Beach Club! Not a bad view- looks peaceful.

The mermaid usually looks creepy to me, but not too bad with the two gals.

***********************************************

Great day at HS!

Cute Star Wars hats. You also got some great pictures of the characters, even if you don't know who they are.

Love the ladies room shot. Someone on the FAQ board was actually looking for a picture of the public restroom a couple of months ago. Fortunately, Poolrat Pat was able to accommodate that request.

Looks like you had a fun meal at Beaches & Cream. I haven't eaten there yet for lunch or dinner. Once in the morning when they had a trial run of a CS breakfast. Wish they had kept that.

**********************************************

I love your safari pictures. The elephant and baby closeup is really cute! And I can honestly say that is the best picture of lion butt I have seen!

:woohoo: on the girls getting picked for the Lion King show.

Love the food critic shirt! I haven't seen that one.

********************************************

Like the cute Dumbo popcorn bucket and the grumpy faces on the Peoplemover

*********************************************

Really cute photopass pictures.

:cool1: for meeting up with MEK and her husband!

:cool1::cool1: on a possible girls trip!

Haven't heard about the job yet....hope it's sometime very soon!

Yeah, I have had very little free time to be on FB, too much going on. My husband was in a car accident on Wednesday morning and our car was possibly totalled (still waiting for insurance confirmation) and of course we only had the one car so that has been fun to deal with. Thankfully he is ok and was released from the hospital the same day.

I so wish I was at Disney or planning a vacation to be there very soon but that is not the case,....I will have to live through your TR's and next trip :(

Yay for a DISmeet! Hopw you enjoyed your time with MEK at Cape May. How is Cape May for breakfast anyway?

Yea for a DIS meet!

I ate at Cape May for dinner with Mom and we really enjoyed it. As a matter of fact, we liked it so much, we are talking my brother, SIL, uncle and aunt there in February. I'm not a big breakfast eater so probably wouldn't go there in the morning especially since Pluto is not involved. :lmao:

Figment! I am so sad that it might be closed in February next year when we are there (rumors). At least I will get to ride it in October!

We had a wonderful breakfast, and I so enjoyed getting to meet and talk with our DIS friend, and her husband. Oh...you want to know who we met? Silly me. Our breakfast was with none other than...................

MEK (MaryEllen) and her husband, Dennis (sorry...no picture of Dennis...he was taking the photos). I wish we could have had more time with them, but they were heading elsewhere.

So glad you finally got to meet! Mary Ellen is a sweetheart.

Ok, fine, you're not so bad yourself. :rotfl:

Mary and I ran ahead of every one else once we were in to get Fastpasses for Soarin' and told the others to meet us at Journey Into Imagination to see Figment.

And they said, "Why?":confused3

:duck:

Kathy I have finally made it back to get caught up. I am so dismally behind on ever TR its not even funny. Too many things going on.

I had to multi quote so you know what I'm talking about since I am so far behind (and am only half way through but need to comment now before I get pulled away again!)

A little recap of our arrival and our first morning:

I left the office at 11:15 for the airport in pouring rain. I was already worried about my flight as Florida was having a tropical storm that day. I arrive at Midway and got through security in about 20 minutes, grabbed some pretzels and a bottle of water and proceeded to wait for my flight. We boarded the plane and someone was in my seat. :faint: It was a young girl who was sitting by her sister, behind their parents. Since the girl had the aisle seat on the other side of the plane which is what I had, I gladly let her sit with her sister.

Nice of you to switch seats. makes sense.

Now why did I think that you were arriving hours later, in the middle of the night. Was that the original plan or is my brain scrambled???

At Midway Airport on my way to my gate:

DH would love this -- he is a big Blues Brothers fan :)

wow for the crowd that you see from the boat shot, the inside does not look too crowded.

Mary your girls are just too cute!

Ms Kathy's ap

what is that?

It was time for a pit stop, and we stopped at the new restrooms by Raphunzel.

where is this? I have yet to meet Rapunzel -- I thought that she was where Belle used to do story time, but this does not look like that section at all. Sadly now that Katie is getting older I have to do a bit more convincing (and whining perhaps?) to wait in line to see characters. She is very discriminating and won't wait in a long line unless its to see Pluto!

Your Beach Club room is so pretty - I love the colors and the furniture in there. Eventually we will get to stay there. though probably not for another year based on our scheduled trips. sigh. so much to do at Disney and just not enough $ or days off to go as often as we'd like. really, is a trip a month too much? I think not!

My big girl LOVES to be able to ride alone. which is kind of nice when it means that Joe & I get a bit of "snuggle" time on a ride like this :)

such a cute photo! Love their pose & their girlie dresses!
they are like princess on a casual day

It was Star Wars weekend and we were not sure how the crowds were going to be. As we walked in and towards the hand:

this looks cool. I don't remember seeing anything like this when we went over a Star Wars Weekend. I just remember it being crazy crowded, and hot!

they don't look happy at all :rolleyes1

soo cool that the girls loved TOT.
and this is a great redneck photo!

I only have 3 pics from our DhS day. Ms Kathy has already told you about the morning but these are from the evening. My good friend Judy and her family arrived that day. I am not going to pot pics of her kids cause I don't have permission.

We also briefly met up with some other "friends" for dinner. There was a bit of drama but in the end it was a fun night except for the rain.

Rain at Disney beats sun at home!

I will be back later to finish catching up!!!

Mary, the girls look like they are having so much fun at RPW! They really enjoy posing with the animals. And how great getting to participate in the FOTLK show!!! :yay:

Pat loves her monkey. Another story on the monkeys. One of them is a former Olympic medalist. One of the CM's told Mary that she would have loved to introduce him to Avery, but he had another show to do. Wouldn't that have been cool?
Maybe Pat needs to try chatting in front of a CM during the show and it can be arranged for her to finally spend some time with HER Monkey!!!

They really need to have some sort of lines for the buses as people were cutting in front of those waiting for 20 minutes and they had just arrived. It was quite aggravating.
Amazing how many people these days ignore basic manners and feel that sense of entitlement instead of fairness!!! :sad2:

Anyway, we arrive at the MK. We stopped for some photopass pictures (sorry, still don't have my CD) and then we headed to dinner.
Your food at Columbia Harbor house looks really good! :thumbsup2

After everyone finished dinner and made bio-stops,
Bio-stops.......... :rotfl:

And being the unselfish person I am, I skipped the ride and ran and got fastpasses for Winnie-the-Pooh while everyone else rode.
Ms. Kat.........always putting others ahead of herself..........

Someone was ready for the show to start

Two pairs of glasses? Does that means she saw the show in 6D??? :rotfl2:

We then decided our feet needed more of a rest, so we took a ride on the Peoplemover:
They must have been discussing the fact Ms. Kat would have to leave them too soon!!! :sad1:

Some really great photopass pictures. I especially love the ones of Avery and Cayley hugging in front of the castle! :goodvibes I haven't seen them use that frame before!

And how great you got to do a DISmeet with MEK!!! :cool1:

So excited that discussions have already begun for another girls trip! :thumbsup2

Oh my gracious, what wonderful Photopass pictures! I love 'em.

Yay for a Dis Meet! It's so nice to actually meet up with a fellow Diser.

Cape May looked like fun for the kids, and for you-because of your DisMeet!

GREAT photopass pictures, so many wonderful ones I can't imagine choosing a favorite. Love the Cape May breakfast update and that you got to me Mary Ellen and Denny, perfect start to the day :thumbsup2

All caught up !! So cool that you got to meet MEK and her hubby.

Looking forward to more !!

Susan

How cool you got to meet Mary Ellen !!! I am soo looking forward to December and a meet with you!!!! Mark and I will have to try on some HATS!!! I am also glad I was not seeing things with the changing pix !!:rotfl2:

Rosie, it was so fun meeting her; what a sweet, sweet lady. :) We will definitely figure out a time to meet up while we are there in December.

So fun that you got to meet up with Mary Ellen! How fun! Looks like a great time, I just love Cape May Cafe!

It was fun and we had a great breakfast; I love the character interaction at Cape May (the food is only eh to me).

The Photopass pictures are FANTASTIC. So many good ones I bet its hard to choose!

I usually get one from each trip to put in a frame and I still haven't decided which one to get.

See, I found the food a little disappointing. It was actually really bad in December and fair last month (although last month had more choices than December). I'm a CP and Tusker House character breakfast gal. MEK is awesome and I am so glad I got to meet her.

It's a great walk to Epcot, and Mark and I are looking forward to doing that in December on occasion.

I'm glad you got here for our DIS meet. :) I remember you went to the Vera Bradley store and had some success if I recall. I wish we'd had more time together, but I really enjoyed meeting you and Denny.

I do hope our paths cross again on a future trip. :thumbsup2

I hope so too. Did you see Mary and I have a May/June 2014 trip in the works? Any chance you'll be there then?

We love Cape May. :)

I do love the characters and how they are dressed.

Yay for a DIS meet! :woohoo:

I was so happy that it worked out to meet MEK.

Walking from Beach Club to Epcot is sooo nice. I got to stay there in March, and that was such a great thing to be there in 5 minutes. :cool1:

It is so convenient; we really enjoyed having that convenience.

Wonder what the plans are for Figment's future? I hope something cool goes
in where EO is.

Anything would be better than Captain EO.

How awesome that you got to meet up with Mary Ellen!!

Yes, I did; and now I get to meet you in August. :)

Mary Ellen, Goofy, Minnie, & Donald and Figment - sounds like a great morning already. And that is very nice of you and Mary to do your FP duty to the group!

It really was a great morning. And if Mary and I didn't "run" ahead to get them, trust me...we never would have gotten them if we waited for the rest of the group.

Those baby duckies reminded me of our recent DL trip where a mommy duck was watching her babies scavenger for food at one of the CS locations and those little guys were fearless. They were walking right over people's feet. They are so adorable!!

I love it...walking over people's feet. Isn't it amazing how fearless they are?

Love the dis meet and the baby duckies.

Thank you; the baby duckies were adorable and MEK very sweet.

Those photopass pics are great! How did you get the one picture to change pictures automatically? That is cool! I Just love those frame pictures. They turned out well.

I didn't do that to the picture...it was like that on the photopass site and it worked when we copied it. :confused3

Fun, a Dismeet!!!

It really was, Ann.

How does the breakfast at CM compare to others? I know each breakfast buffet seems to have one item that sets them apart from other breakfasts.. Like 1900PF and the strawberry soup... or CP and poohs puffed french toast.

Not a fan, Ann. I much prefer Crystal Palace and Tusker House. But this was convenient because we were staying there, it was convenient for MEK and Denny (and we were also supposed to have lunch with another DISer but she had to change her plans). To me, they have nothing distinctive and not the variety of the others.
