Girls Trip Revisited-- Final Day (Part 3) -- August 14

I'll finish responses tomorrow. I'm wiped out and I have to get up a little earlier for work tomorrow to make sure Mark didn't forget to pack anything for his trip to Vegas.

He's so cute; he emailed me at the office this morning and told me that he just realized when he comes home next Wednesday from Vegas that it will be our "single digit dance" day. And he isn't even on the DIS! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Looooved all the pictures. For some darn reason they didn't have the frame when we were there. In a not very Disney way, some CM tried to say that the Beast took a bite out of it and it was out for repairs. :sad2:
He said it so apathetically that I almost told him to try harder, but I decided to let it go and just get the pictures over with (I'll have to remember this when I do my TR -you could tell I was having a bit of an attitude in the pictures ). I think he didn't want to be out there taking the pictures in the sun and was just trying to get us through faster.

The girls are just adorable, I love seeing them having such a good time with you and Mary. The attitude on the People Mover is priceless. It never, fails at least one time during the day there is attitude with one of my kids. What are ya gonna do? :confused3

Dis meet with MEK!!! I'm hoping to have a meet with Mary Ellen some day in the near future, I think she'd be a lot of fun to have a meet with. Hopefully over a margarita at the Ditch, or some place cool like that. :goodvibes

Loved the Dumbo for Mark, did he like it?

Not a fan, Ann. I much prefer Crystal Palace and Tusker House. But this was convenient because we were staying there, it was convenient for MEK and Denny (and we were also supposed to have lunch with another DISer but she had to change her plans). To me, they have nothing distinctive and not the variety of the others.

Ok, good to know. I won't feel like I have missed out on a hidden gem then. :goodvibes

Too funny!!! How cute is he!?

I'm caught up! I won't tell you how long it took me though!

Love love LOVE all of these sweet pictures Kathy, of the you and the girls and Mary and everyone.:goodvibes

I think my favorites are the cell phone ones you took and the photopass ones! Precious. I love the frame they're using now. When we were there in May, they were using it then too. It makes for some cutesy pictures.:thumbsup2

An awesome trip for sure, you're so lucky to have gone with a great group of kiddos and people. You're definitely a grandmother in training lol. Tell Mark and Alisha that you're ready to go!!

And you're heading back to Disney so soon. Ya, I'm jealous.:sad1:

It is always fun to meet online DIS friends when in WDW. I have met DISer's the last two trips and I am sooo looking forward to finally meeting a really neat DIS'er and her husband in December when we finally return to WDW after 3 1/2 years. Whom might that couple be from the DIS?

You and Mark:woohoo::hug:

Awww...you make me  We are looking forward to meeting you too.

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful morning already!!! :yay:
I have never done figment... :duck:

Thanks, Mo. You've never done Figment. I hope they bring it back so you can see when you go.

Great way to start the day. Breakfast with some Disney characters and some Dis friends. :thumbsup2

It was the perfect start to the day.

The picture of Figment on riding on the film really makes me wish they'd bring back that scene from the original with Dreamfinder and Figment on that blimp thing. If there's going to be any flying devices in that ride, it should be that.

I couldn't agree with you more!

PHEW!!! I just binge-read your report and got all caught up. Thanks for the links!!!

First, let me say :welcome::welcome: And let me also say WOW! You are amazing to get through all of that AND make all the comments below.

I'm going to post my comments- no need to respond to them all!

You took the time to comment, and I will respond. :)

Did you add new wedding photos or did I just miss them before? They are fabulous!

I don't think I added any new ones. I would love to but I would probably get closed down again. :sad2:

Congrats to Andy on the coaching job.

Thank you; he is very excited. He has applied for the Computer Aide position which will keep him at the school 5 days a week, for a full 7 hours. It doesn't pay a lot, but it comes with benefits and it's what he makes per day for substituting. And, since he doesn't substitute every day, this is better for him in the long run.

Regarding the photos from the Plaza and Fantasyland. What a great gathering of gorgeous girls! Just adorable!

Aren't they just the most beautiful girls? And so lovable too.

Nice way to start a trip- dining at Be Our Guest! :woohoo:

I do love that restaurant (and can't wait to be there two weeks from tomorrow).

Cute sword in the stone pics.

One of these days I hope they get lucky to "pull it out."

:cool1: for checking in at the Beach Club! Not a bad view- looks peaceful.

It was an okay view...we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. I did find the resort very peaceful.

The mermaid usually looks creepy to me, but not too bad with the two gals.

I thought it was kind of creepy when I first saw it too.
***********************************************

Great day at HS!

We had a blast! And the girls LOVED TOT which made it all the more fun.

Cute Star Wars hats. You also got some great pictures of the characters, even if you don't know who they are.

I was so glad the girls cooperated for Mr. Mark with the hat photos. Funny, even though I've seen the movies, I have no clue who they are. :rotfl2:

Love the ladies room shot. Someone on the FAQ board was actually looking for a picture of the public restroom a couple of months ago. Fortunately, Poolrat Pat was able to accommodate that request.

Pat is very good at getting pictures of bathrooms (and garbage cans). ;)

Looks like you had a fun meal at Beaches & Cream. I haven't eaten there yet for lunch or dinner. Once in the morning when they had a trial run of a CS breakfast. Wish they had kept that.

I never knew they did a trial run for breakfast; they could definitely use some breakfasts spots around there.

**********************************************

I love your safari pictures. The elephant and baby closeup is really cute! And I can honestly say that is the best picture of lion butt I have seen!

I am so glad you appreciate my talent in getting lion butt pictures. :)

:woohoo: on the girls getting picked for the Lion King show.

They had a lot of fun.

Love the food critic shirt! I haven't seen that one.

Neither have I; I may get it for hubby this month when we go.

********************************************

Like the cute Dumbo popcorn bucket and the grumpy faces on the Peoplemover

Thank you; Dumbo sits proudly on Mark's dresser. Cayley cracks me up each day I see her.

*********************************************

Really cute photopass pictures.

Thanks; I'm having a hard time picking a favorite.

:cool1: for meeting up with MEK and her husband!

It was a special treat on this trip.

:cool1::cool1: on a possible girls trip!

Talked to Mary yesterday and plans are in motion...resorts picked (we will be doing a split stay).

Haven't heard about the job yet....hope it's sometime very soon!

Keeping fingers crossed.

Yeah, I have had very little free time to be on FB, too much going on. My husband was in a car accident on Wednesday morning and our car was possibly totalled (still waiting for insurance confirmation) and of course we only had the one car so that has been fun to deal with. Thankfully he is ok and was released from the hospital the same day.

How awful; I'm glad hubby was okay.

I so wish I was at Disney or planning a vacation to be there very soon but that is not the case,....I will have to live through your TR's and next trip :(

I hope you can book one soon.

Yay for a DISmeet! Hopw you enjoyed your time with MEK at Cape May. How is Cape May for breakfast anyway?

We had a great time with MEK; Cape May is average in my opinion as far as the food, but the character interaction is awesome.

Yea for a DIS meet!

It was fun.

I ate at Cape May for dinner with Mom and we really enjoyed it. As a matter of fact, we liked it so much, we are talking my brother, SIL, uncle and aunt there in February. I'm not a big breakfast eater so probably wouldn't go there in the morning especially since Pluto is not involved. :lmao:

See, we weren't crazy about our dinner last year; the crab legs were rather cold, hard to open, etc. For the money, I'd rather go to Fulton's.

Figment! I am so sad that it might be closed in February next year when we are there (rumors). At least I will get to ride it in October!

Very sad; I just don't understand some of the things they plan.

So glad you finally got to meet! Mary Ellen is a sweetheart.

Yes, she is. :thumbsup2

Ok, fine, you're not so bad yourself. :rotfl:

Well, thank you sir (you only said that because I got your kids cute t-shirts ;)).

And they said, "Why?":confused3

:duck:

 Not!

Kathy I have finally made it back to get caught up. I am so dismally behind on ever TR its not even funny. Too many things going on.

No worries...summer is a busy time.

Nice of you to switch seats. makes sense.

I was travelling solo so not a big deal for me.

Now why did I think that you were arriving hours later, in the middle of the night. Was that the original plan or is my brain scrambled???

Originally, I was supposed to land around 10:00; then they changed the flight and I wasn't landing until 12:45 a.m. I called and had a fit. So I asked them to change my flight, depending on the penalty, to an earlier flight (I kind of fibbed and told them I had to meet two kids at the airport). They put me on the 1:30 so I landed around the same time as Mary and the girls. :)

DH would love this -- he is a big Blues Brothers fan :)

DH always has his photo taken with it when we fly out of Midway (which we will be doing in 15 days).

wow for the crowd that you see from the boat shot, the inside does not look too crowded.

We were there for opening so it wasn't too bad at first, but it did get a lot more crowded.

Mary your girls are just too cute!

I concur.

what is that?

That was a scallop appetizer. Very yummy!

where is this? I have yet to meet Rapunzel -- I thought that she was where Belle used to do story time, but this does not look like that section at all. Sadly now that Katie is getting older I have to do a bit more convincing (and whining perhaps?) to wait in line to see characters. She is very discriminating and won't wait in a long line unless its to see Pluto!

Rapunzel is NOT there. This is just her "bathroom area" by It's a Small World.

Your Beach Club room is so pretty - I love the colors and the furniture in there. Eventually we will get to stay there. though probably not for another year based on our scheduled trips. sigh. so much to do at Disney and just not enough $ or days off to go as often as we'd like. really, is a trip a month too much? I think not!

The room was very pretty. I've about covered all the resorts I want to try. I now have my favorites lined up (depending on what we think of the Boardwalk Villas in December).

My big girl LOVES to be able to ride alone. which is kind of nice when it means that Joe & I get a bit of "snuggle" time on a ride like this :)

That is nice.

such a cute photo! Love their pose & their girlie dresses!
they are like princess on a casual day

Yes they were.

this looks cool. I don't remember seeing anything like this when we went over a Star Wars Weekend. I just remember it being crazy crowded, and hot!

It was hot, it was crowded, but it was also raining so a lot of people didn't seem to be standing out there waiting for anything to happen.

they don't look happy at all :rolleyes1

No, not a bit!

soo cool that the girls loved TOT.
and this is a great redneck photo!

All four of them are really great traveling partners.

Rain at Disney beats sun at home!

I couldn't agree more.

I will be back later to finish catching up!!!

Thanks for stopping in...good to see you.

Mary, the girls look like they are having so much fun at RPW! They really enjoy posing with the animals. And how great getting to participate in the FOTLK show!!! :yay:

They had fun participating.

Maybe Pat needs to try chatting in front of a CM during the show and it can be arranged for her to finally spend some time with HER Monkey!!!

Are you sure that's a good idea? :rotfl::rotfl:

Amazing how many people these days ignore basic manners and feel that sense of entitlement instead of fairness!!! :sad2:

It infuriates me; just like those that stop in the middle of a row. I've been known to step hard on their feet if I have to pass them by.

Your food at Columbia Harbor house looks really good! :thumbsup2

One of my all-time favorite CS places.

Bio-stops.......... :rotfl:

Glad you liked that.

Ms. Kat.........always putting others ahead of herself..........

I thought it was my duty for the newbies.

Two pairs of glasses? Does that means she saw the show in 6D??? :rotfl2:

With Cayley, I wouldn't be surprised.

They must have been discussing the fact Ms. Kat would have to leave them too soon!!! :sad1:

Yes, I'm sure that's it. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Some really great photopass pictures. I especially love the ones of Avery and Cayley hugging in front of the castle! :goodvibes I haven't seen them use that frame before!

It's the first time I saw the frame. We have hugging pictures of the girls from last year, but they were over by Adventureland.

And how great you got to do a DISmeet with MEK!!! :cool1:

It was really so much fun meeting MEK.

So excited that discussions have already begun for another girls trip! :thumbsup2

Discussions begun, resorts picked out. :goodvibes

Oh my gracious, what wonderful Photopass pictures! I love 'em.

Thank you, Lisa.

Yay for a Dis Meet! It's so nice to actually meet up with a fellow Diser.

Yes it is. And I am very excited that there is a chance we will be meeting next May. :)

Cape May looked like fun for the kids, and for you-because of your DisMeet!

It was fun because of the DIS meet; and the characters were great.

GREAT photopass pictures, so many wonderful ones I can't imagine choosing a favorite. Love the Cape May breakfast update and that you got to me Mary Ellen and Denny, perfect start to the day :thumbsup2

Cynthia, I've not come close to picking a favorite. It was a perfect start...such great people!

All caught up !! So cool that you got to meet MEK and her hubby.

Looking forward to more !!

Susan

Thank you, Susan. We had a great visit with MaryEllen and Denny.

Looooved all the pictures. For some darn reason they didn't have the frame when we were there. In a not very Disney way, some CM tried to say that the Beast took a bite out of it and it was out for repairs. :sad2:

Now that was kind of a dumb thing for the CM to say. :confused3 I know that not all of the PP photographers do the magic shots, but that was not the thing for him/her to say.

Uncalled for!

The girls are just adorable, I love seeing them having such a good time with you and Mary. The attitude on the People Mover is priceless. It never, fails at least one time during the day there is attitude with one of my kids. What are ya gonna do? :confused3

Yes, they are. And we do all have so much fun when we are together. I think Cayley was just trying to be silly; or she was getting tired.

Dis meet with MEK!!! I'm hoping to have a meet with Mary Ellen some day in the near future, I think she'd be a lot of fun to have a meet with. Hopefully over a margarita at the Ditch, or some place cool like that. :goodvibes

You will love her...a true sweetie.

Loved the Dumbo for Mark, did he like it?

He loved it and it sits on his dresser in his room.

Ok, good to know. I won't feel like I have missed out on a hidden gem then. :goodvibes

Nope, you would definitely prefer Tusker House, trust me!

Too funny!!! How cute is he!?

He's a keeper, Ali. :goodvibes

I'm caught up! I won't tell you how long it took me though!

:banana::banana::banana: Molly is back. :)

Love love LOVE all of these sweet pictures Kathy, of the you and the girls and Mary and everyone.:goodvibes

Thank you, my friend.

I think my favorites are the cell phone ones you took and the photopass ones! Precious. I love the frame they're using now. When we were there in May, they were using it then too. It makes for some cutesy pictures.:thumbsup2

There wasn't a bad photopass pic in the bunch...I was very happy with them. I love the frame idea too...very cute.

An awesome trip for sure, you're so lucky to have gone with a great group of kiddos and people. You're definitely a grandmother in training lol. Tell Mark and Alisha that you're ready to go!!

Ummmm...I think they know that. They told me they are thinking of getting pregnant next fall (after we take our trip).

And you're heading back to Disney so soon. Ya, I'm jealous.:sad1:

Yes, 2 weeks from today is my last day in the office until September 3. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I was going to wait for Mary if she had any pictures from breakfast, but I'll go ahead with the next update and she can add later.

So after our ride with our favorite purple dragon, we headed over to Mr. Mark's favorite:

We took the pictures and emailed them to Mr. Mark to make him jealous. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

On with the attraction:

We then went to see some

And some

After our checking out all the fish, I think Judy and her family split up from us. I'm not sure if they were going to take a monorail ride or go back to the resort for a nap. I really don't remember.

But us four girls, despite how HOT it was, continued on our way.

Caught a glimpse of this as we headed back to World Showcase:

I think we stopped in the shop on the promenade at this point to get Avery her outfit for her Duffy Bear. She hadn't found anything at the Studios she wanted and so I told her I'd get her something there. If I'm not mistaken, she got a Star Wars type outfit after all. :lmao:

Up next, we visit World Showcase, have some lunch and do something the young girls had never done.

Well, thank you sir (you only said that because I got your kids cute t-shirts ).

Not at all! The cool t-shirts were merely evidence that you are a very cool, very thoughtful person. :thumbsup2

(My kids still wear them all the time, btw)

I hope you know I was only teasing you. I liked you too...despite your poor choice of teams to support.

Glad the t-shirts are still fitting the kids.

You got some good shots on Nemo! I can never get good pictures on there between the lighting and movement of the clam-mobile. That's a good picture of the dolphin at the gate too.

Can't wait to hear what you did that was a first for the girls!

Ugh - it WAS so hot that day! I think that's why we decided to leave and go shopping. By 3:30pm it was perfect out!

Cute pics!

Cool pix of The Seas !!! Last October the group really enjoyed all the tanks and we spent at least an hour looking at them!!!

YAY the living Seas !!! It is a great place to cool off a bit.

I am probably due for a Turtle talk soon. It has been a while.

Looking forward to the new thing for the girls.

I love the living seas with Nemo! And it is a nice cool place for really hot days like that. I also love what they did with the Monsters University topiary! I really want to get there one year during the Flower and Garden Festival so I can see all of that amazing work first hand.

Lovin' your TR...thanks for sharing. Can't wait to read the rest. We did a trip in Jan and DH and I are doing F&W sans kiddos in Oct and then we have a big family (my inlaws) trip in Dec. Making use of the PAPs we got for this year. Sounds like you are doing the same. Congrats on the new "daughter" and have a great upcoming Anniversary trip. And maybe you will be buying cute little baby Disney souvenirs on your 2014 girls trip for a sweet little grand baby.
