Hey..I wasn't all that excited about spending time hanging at the bar when DL is just steps away...I would love to go back to the park after dinner. Since I have always been dragging a kid with me in the park, I have llittle success hoarding FP's for use at night. Really wanted to try it this visit since I will be arriving sometime Thursday morning!!

Getting closer all the time. Hurrah!! Amy

Cool! (ok, does that date me? be honest . . . . )

I love the park at nighttime so would really like to go back and close the place down . . . so I'm there with you! I will probably be arriving early Thursday afternoon . . . . . are you staying at Hojo's?

Hey, I am 46, (but I swear my knees are in their 90's!!), can you beat that?

There are probably others who will join us, but I am glad to know someone else will be joining me. Solo is good, but it can also be alone!! (awwwww).

Are you a SM kinda gal? Amy

LOL--Space or Splash?

I actually haven't been on Space in years (or Splash for that matter)--I'm worried about Space because my knees actually WERE 90 years old and I had them replaced a few years ago (both at the same time). Now I can shop forever (not always a good thing) but the downside is that they don't "bend" as easily as normal . . . so I've avoided Space and Matterhorn because I think it would be difficult getting in and out.

I would probably be more likely to try Splash again.

But I wouldn't mind waiting if you wanted to go on Space!

Hello everyone .

I just thought I'd check in so you all knew I was still alive and kicking :rolleyes1 .

Steph~ Sorry for your lose. It's sounds like you were really close to your grandma. Your family is in my prayers :flower3: .

Lesley~ I'm so looking forward to the VIP tour and to be surprised will be even better :thumbsup2 . I'm always planning things for other people and it would be nice to be surprised :wizard: .

Callie~ Carnation Cafe sounds good to me. How do you think we should handle the PS?? If the group gets too big, I wouldn't mind making on of the ressies.

I'll try to check in more often and not be a stranger ;) .

Thanks, Katie! So far, I have 9 RSVP's. I'm thinking if we get around 12, we should divide it up into 3 tables of 4, so I could definitely use your help in making that PS reservation. I want to do it soon, too, so we don't miss out on a good parade watching time.

:cool1: I have been reading this thread and just wanted to say that you ladies are going to have a wonderful time!!!!

Well Amy, I'm older than you are ;) but I still love Space Mountain and the Matterhorn. I'm game to meet you Thursday morning for Mountains of fun so you can get in a few rides with a 'buddy' before most of the girls get there. Not sure if I'll hit the UVA bar, or head back to the parks after dinner. It totally depends on the day.

Cheryl, I think we can get you into Space Mountain anyway!! I was with my dad in December...and he is a arthritic/functional wreck..and we got him into Space!!!!! My mom has one knee replaced, and she got on as well. They both required a bit of a boost to get out, but as my father said, "you are strong like bull!!". He is funny that way!

I know we have a list somewhere, I think from Michelle, that has our arrival times listed. I should look it up and start contacting my Thursday gang!!

Hey, are any of you local types thinking about going to the Julie Andrews book signing on Tuesday April 8th? It is in the most recent Backstage Pass magazine. It looks like a bit of a hassle, but I LOVE Julie Andrews!!! Mary Poppins was the very first movie I saw in the theater!!!:yay:

I'm always so self-conscious that I'm holding up the line . . . . concerned about the CM's . . . . but maybe (SM)

I probably won't be able to get over on April 8th even though I love Julie too! (How many times did I listen to the Sound of Music soundtrack?) I am going to be at DLR (whooo--hooo Grand Californian here I come!) the week before so my clients will kill me if I'm gone part of the following week too. (Sigh, it's wonderful to be loved . . . . . ) Plus, I'm going to be there the following weekend (the 13th) for a scavenger type thingie, followed by the Ladies' trip just two weeks later! (Glad I've got an AP!)

Holding up the line...I sneer at the impatient people behind us!!!

Many oh man, Cheryl, you might as well pitch your tent in the Pumba lot for April. I am thinking about the Julie Andrew thing since it appeals, but I am going with my DD7 on the 4th and then the Girl's trip, so seems like a lot of gas money!!! I have the S.CA AP! I expire June 3, not sure if joining again.

I only work part time, Monday, Wednesday and most Saturdays, so the Tuesday thing works with my schedule!!

Very neat to stay in the Grand C....I've only stayed in the DLH, once. Pretty neato! (dating myself!).

Anyone else thinking about Julie?

What about the "handicapped" car for Space Mountain? The one that moves in and out of the track every once in a while... My daughter actually got to ride in that car once when they needed 2 more people to fill it up.

I didn't know there was a handicapped car--thanks for the tip!

That is the one we got my dad on. I don't think it had a different design, but I was busy trying to get parents and DD settled, so may not have noticed. It is off the track to the left of the tracks. They load it up, and slide the track over. It is pretty slick!! That way you have all the time in the world to load.

I don't know if you have to enter through the back to get to it, or not...

Hey, but anyway you can get on Space is a good way!! :)

Sad times, I would love to join you wonderful DIS ladies but ALAS! I am only 19 and won't be 21 until next year. I guess I'll have to put another trip together for us teens & 20s.

Have a good time

And, MommauU4 awesome job in organizing this thing!
There's no age limit, as long as your not a "kid" and a female it's all good!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 Join up if you want to.

Hey Beth~! At least you have gorgeous weather today . . . . sigh . . . wish I was at Disneyland too instead of writing documents . . . . . (can you tell I'm not getting a lot done today?)

Actually when we were at DLR lasat week, my DH asked me if I was going to go to that event! I laughed 'cause it's our anniversary that day. But, I'm pretty sure he is working during the day and didn't take the day off. So... that would make a nice gift for him don't ya think? :lovestruc Any excuse to go to Disneyland! If you want to carpool Amy, let me know. If you can get up to one of the coaster stations in Carlsbad or Oside or the park and ride off of 78 and 5, I'd be happy to pick you up. I can't make it a full day at the parks though. It is after all, my anniversary and I've got to get home sometime ...

There is no graceful way to get out of the rides in Disney Parks. I don't care how young you are. :rotfl: Just make sure you have a buddy coming out after you to give ya a boost if needed.

Actually I'm looking forward to Space Mtn at DL. It's a car more like RnR than SM at WDW. I almost crawl out of that car onto the floor at the end of the ride.:upsidedow
